What MacBook Pro should I get?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2018 11:45 AM PST

Hey everyone, my mid 2012 MacBook Pro has died on me. I owned it since early 2014 and when I got it it was brand new. I take amazing care of any product I own. I was looking at the new MacBook Pros and I am unsure which one to buy. I will be mostly using it for school work and occasionally playing WoW. Money isn't necessarily an issue but I also don't want to spend an extra $800 if it's not really worth it. I want the one that will last me the longest while also being the best option for the money. This is the one I am currently thinking about purchasing https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1293727-REG/apple_mlh42ll_a_15_4_macbook_pro_with.html Any help/advice on which to get would be greatly appreciated🙂

Do SSD adapters work with MacBooks?

    Posted: 13 Feb 2018 12:40 PM PST

Specifically with late 2015 MacBooks. The newer ones have soldered SSDs.

Apple uses a Proprietary SSD connectors so a typical SSD wouldn't fit into the logic board (this is very upsetting). I've looked around and found some adapters that I could use to plug an SSD into the logic board using that adapter as a median.

Has anyone had success using these adapters? Do they work well? It's a lot cheaper to go this route than to buy an Apple SSD.

Worth repairing rMBP 2013 screen for $600 or buying refurbished MacBook Air 2017 for $1100?

Would appreciate opinions! My uses for computer are mainly for school, the specs of the air will do fine, I don't do video editing or gaming.

Is there any app I can download on my Android phone to track my Macbook in case its lost?

There is one app on the app store called Track My Mac but it appears to be an elaborate scam because it wants me to download MacKeeper on my laptop

    Used Macbook priced below $300

    Posted: 13 Feb 2018 03:28 AM PST

I'm looking for a used MacBook priced below $300. mostly am getting only Core 2 Duo models. Is it worth buying in 2018?

I will be using it for some photo and video content editing for my blog and occasional browsing. I will be mostly working from cafes so portability and battery are important for me.

    Bug Under Screen!

    Posted: 13 Feb 2018 03:15 AM PST

So I noticed a bug crawling around and wondered why I couldn't wipe him off. Then I realized he was UNDER the screen. He finally died somewhere near the lower left corner and I can't tap him out.

Would it be easy / worth it to get a shop to open the screen up to get him out? It's only a minor annoyance but still an annoyance.
