Using dual-monitors with 2017 Retina Macboook 12" Posted: 23 Feb 2018 10:28 AM PST I've tried doing some searching but can't seem to find a solid answer or simple solution. I want to connect two monitors to my MacBook while closed. I currently have one monitor hooked up to it via usb-c adaptor with an HDMI port and connecting that via HDMI to the monitor. I would like the cheapest, most reliable, option for a docking station(?) or other to be able to connect another monitor via HDMI or DisplayPort. Every time I search I find people complaining about resolution. I'm not particularly concerned with resolution. This would mainly be used for workflow. Anyone else doing this? What are my cheapest/most reliable options? [link] [comments]

Obscure Blackscreen + Shutdown Issue Posted: 23 Feb 2018 09:16 AM PST MacBook Pro 15" 2014 Issue started in High Sierra, but has followed me to Sierra and Mavericks Here's the issue: I'll be using my system, and what seems to have no trigger, it will black screen (LCD, keyboard, logo, FaceTime light still on) and will proceed to ramp fans to max, and then shut down. I have to manually turn on the system again. My programs from before are remembered and reopen where I left off. I've gone through all of apples diagnostics. NVRAM, SMC, factory reset, etc. I had a Genius Bar appointment, nothing showed up under diagnostics. In fact, I just got it back with a replaced clamshell due to issues with the screen coating, and the issue remains. I've tried pinpointing the crashes in console to no avail. Please reddit. I'm losing my mind. Have I missed something? Anyone else have this issue? This guy seems to be having an identical issue BOUNTY TO ANYONE WHO HELPS ME SOLVE THE PROBLEM [link] [comments]
