If Siri has a hard time hearing you when you say "hey Siri" on your phone, I have something for you to try

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 11:36 AM PST

When first training Siri*, you probably were holding your phone when you went through the prompts (why wouldn't you?). I did the same thing but quickly realized that when saying "hey Siri" it had about a 50/50 chance of it activating. So I retrained Siri but this time I laid the phone on a table, took a few steps back (farther than arms length), and then went through the prompts. Siri hears me everytime now and the distance it can hear me increased. Now I can lay my phone on my nightstand and be anywhere in my bedroom and say "hey Siri" and it will activate.

Training Siri - when setting Siri up, it asks you to say "hey Siri" 3 times, "hey Siri, how is the weather?", etc.

Does anyone else wish for an updated iPad mini?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 06:44 PM PST

I love the size of my mini, even though I have a plus size phone. I can use my mini for 4:3 content, which my phone does not support as well.

I wish they had a Mini with at least a A10 chip. Maybe make it like the current Pro, but with an A10 chip, or they can make it equal to the Pro.

I wonder why Apple stopped making Minis with the same specs as the larger iPads... The mini 2 was the only one that was matched to the larger iPad, in this case, the Air 1.

I just wanted to say how awesome the 29W USB charger and USB-C/Lightning charge cable is for charging an iPhone X!

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 10:33 PM PST

I plug my iPhone X in for 30 mins and get 25% charge, easily double the charge rate I get from the wall plug it comes with. Normally I couldn't justify the price but with a new baby in the house I'm having to lean on my phone much more than my laptop and iPad, so it's worth it to always have a charged phone handy.

    That's all! :)

    Speculation on watchOS 5

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 01:48 PM PST

A lot of people like to speculate about what will be included in iOS 12 but what about Apple Watch fans? What do you want to see in watchOS 5?

Personally I think the Siri Watch face is a good step in this direction but I'd like to see more smart complications for the modular faces. For example... if I set a timer on my phone, it'll replace a non-essential complication like Sunrise/Sunset to the Timer instead. Then once the Timer is finished it'll go back to the Sunrise/Sunset complication.

    Edit: Typo

    Another iPhone SE Appreciation Post...

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 06:31 PM PST

Wanna take a minute to express appreciation for the iPhone SE on these times were there seems to be a Repair Program for every previous-gen iPhone.

    iPhone 7 "No Service"

    iPhone 6S Unexpected Shutdowns

    iPhone 6 Plus Multi-touch Issues

PS- My iPhone SE currently going strong, two years mark on April 2018. Will probably be replacing the battery before the year's end to take advantage of the $29 offer. REMEMBER that applies to iPhone SE as well! 🙌

Edit: Apple's letter about Battery Replacement.

What will Airplay 2 do better?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 09:39 PM PST

Besides multi-room audio, which I don't care much about, what will Airplay 2 do better? Also, do you think Airport Expresses will be updated with Airplay 2? Would you then be able to connect multiple devices to an Airplay enabled speaker and switch back and forth seamlessly?

    Stupid question about CarPlay

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 08:19 AM PST

With how big iPhones are, why can't Apple make a "CarPlay Mode" on the phone that lets you just put it in landscape mode and stick it in a phone holder, for use in cars that don't have built-in CarPlay support? I enjoy the easy access to features when I am in rental cars with CarPlay, and I'm sorry but Siri sucks. Big, easy access buttons on the existing phone hardware would solve the whole issue.

I have really bad arthritis and carpal tunnel, as of late my symptoms have been making it near-impossible to text on my iphone. Typing on the computer is bearable, any way to get imessages on my PC laptop?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 01:00 PM PST

as the title states, I'm trying to find a way to get my text messages + imessages on my PC laptop.

I know the new OS allows mac users to imessage from the computer, but is there ANY possible way to get my imessages on PC? Sadly I can't afford to go out and buy a macbook right now.

Virtual desktop maybe? I don't know. Hopefully you all have some insight.

    thanks a lot.

How will “Hey Siri” work on the HomePod when my house could have up to 3 iPhones and 2 iPads listening at the same time?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 02:21 PM PST

I'm just curious to know if asking Siri to play a song on the HomePod will result in it playing on all of the other devices within listening range as well?

Does anyone else remember the Apple ad that had a lot of their historical slogans e.g. "Bicycle for the mind"?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 08:23 AM PST

Did I imagine this ad or was there actually one where Apple ran through a whole load of their old ad slogans? If it did exist, does anyone have a link to it by any chance?

    Old old ipod question.

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 02:40 PM PST

I'm old school, I like having a separate device for owning music. I have a chance to buy a rarely used iPod 4th gen, control wheel before touch. I don't use itunes, I add music using copytrans. Are there any functionality issues I might have, assuming it is in good working condition? Any issues I should be considering? Thanks.

AirPods randomly disconnect for a couple of seconds?

    Posted: 04 Feb 2018 04:15 AM PST

I've just took the plunge and bought a pair of AirPods and I have to say I'm already regretting the decision.

The biggest issue I'm having is that, while playing music the audio will go silent for a couple of seconds, it does it on all audio sources (Spotify, YouTube, iTunes) and I've noticed the Bluetooth icon at the bottom of the screen on Spotify will flash as if it's lost connection.

The audio doesn't pause, it carries on playing and then a second later the audio will resume through the AirPods.

It's driving me nuts. It's not happening all the time but it's happening often enough to be really annoying for a £159 pair of earphones.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea on how I can fix it?
