| Posted: 14 Feb 2018 05:05 PM PST My wife has a iPhone and iPad. The phone is for work only, the iPad is for the kids only. She uses the same Apple ID for both. How can we set it up so that text messages & Facetime to and from her work phone don't appear on the iPad and vice versa? Also, how do I manage the "Contacts" in my iPhone so that my wife has her phone number and work email address associated with her but also have the iPad appear as a different contact? When I text my wife I want it to go to her iPhone. When I text the iPad I want it to go to the iPad only. [link] [comments]  |

If i pick it up the wrong way it triggers the macbook to freeze and then restart. Also the speed randomly fluctuates between either working like it normally should and barely working at all to the point where I can't use it because it's so slow. Hard drive capacity is 500gb, processor speed is 2.5gz, Ram is 4gb (2gb each slot), I have the most up to date operating system, I have ran the hardware diagnostic test, used the first aid feature through disk utility, and I reset the smc. About 3 iPhone wall plug ins have stopped working in the last week or so. Could the static shocks be doing it? The cord is fine, I can plug it into a computer and it will charger. | Posted: 14 Feb 2018 04:40 PM PST Hi, I have noticed a bug that affects the iPad calendar when in year view. This bug does NOT affect iphones (at least not any of the ones I have tested) but it does affect multiple models of iPads (I have tested it on several already, all running the latest version of ios as of today, 2/14/2018). The bug is: when using calendar in year view, if the app is exited and re-entered, the display shows not the year you were viewing at the time of exiting, but 2 years earlier. How to reproduce the bug: 1. open calendar app, choose "year view," select the year you want to view 2. exit calendar app by pressing home button 3. re-open calendar app 4. You will now see the display showing 2 years earlier than the year you chose before. I realize this may seem like no big deal, but if you're going through a lot of paperwork matching up printouts with dates on the calendar it can really be super frustrating. Has anyone else encountered this bug? Does anyone have a solution? I did file a bug report with Apple, but of course they have not yet elected to acknowledge it, so, I thought I would ask you good people. Thanks for any thoughts on this matter! [link] [comments]  |

| Iphone 6s Stuck on Apple Logo (Can't restore) Posted: 14 Feb 2018 07:54 PM PST Hello Everyone, Like many others, my mom's iphone was taking a long time to install apps so she turned it off and on again. But now it's been stuck on the apple logo for over five hours now. I tried resetting it to restore mode, and updating the iphone. Sadly I got an error saying I'd have to restore my iphone. But she doesn't want to lose any of her contacts / photos. And her Icloud has not been backed up since the summer time. So all the photos she's taken since then are not on the cloud. I was just wondering if there's is a way to restore the iphone with out losing any of the data?. Like any apps like Reiboot or anything similar that might work?. | MacBook Air Water Damage. Is it possibly an easy fix? Posted: 14 Feb 2018 07:38 PM PST I have a 13 inch 2014 Macbook Air. Recently, about a half of a third of a water bottled spilled in my backpack and got into the laptop pocket. As far as I could tell, very little water actually got into the laptop as it was closed. Now, my battery does not charge but it will work with the charger plugged in. The computer randomly turns off, and I have to hold the power button to turn it back on. The charger is not lighting up when it is plugged in. I tried to reset the SMC a couple times. Could it be something simple like a charging port or something or is it likely something much more complicated? Thank you so much in advance! [link] [comments]  |

| Can’t connect to Apple Software Update server after high sierra 10.13.3 Posted: 14 Feb 2018 11:03 AM PST So I just downloaded the 10.13.3 update and restarted my computer. Now when I try to open the App Store, I get the message "an error occurred: can't connect to Apple software update server". I've tried repairing disk permissions, tried setting DNS servers to googles DNS, tried rebooting twice. I'm connected to the internet and all other pages of the App Store load fine (featured, purchased etc.). I tried to get rid of invalid certificates but there is no "cricache.db" or "ocspcache.db" files in the var/db/crls folder. Also I checked on "about this Mac" and it says my software is high sierra 10.13.3, so it seems like the update worked, but the App Store isn't registering this and still says I need to update. However my hard drive is getting full. I don't delete the songs after I download them. I open the folder and drag them into iTunes and keep going. I would like to know am I wasting space this way? There's one folder called iTunes with all my music collection. Is this the only one I need and does it always update once I add songs to iTunes or delete them? [link] [comments]  |

Is there a way to turn off my scheduled alarm just once, while still leaving activated my Mon-Fri alarm? Because currently, if I don't have to go in on Monday, I will turn off my "mon-fri" alarm so it doesn't wake me, and then I have to set a reminder to change it back for the rest of the week, very annoying [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 14 Feb 2018 05:43 PM PST I'm going to be buying a 15" MBP to replace my desktop soon and I know the MBP can push all the monitors I have in my home setup but I'm curious as to how to efficiently connect all of them at once. I have 3 27' AOC monitors that only have HDMI inputs and one 49" TV using HDMI. Currently I'm using DP to HDMI adaptors to connect the 3 AOC displays to the GTX 970s in the PC and using the native HDMI from the card to push the TV. The question is how to connect these 4 displays over HDMI to the Thunderbolt Type C connector on the MBP without using an eGPU. An eGPU isn't out of the question just not my focus since GPU prices are artificially inflated currently and the enclosure plus an AMD GPU could easily be another $1k AND I'm not going to be gaming or rendering on it. mostly just web browsing and media. Recently, I've noticed that often when I'm typing an email, imessage, or typing in any application, really, that autocorrect is automatically putting two spaces after I type "I" or "i" when the letters stand alone or are at the beginning of a word. Examples: "i .e.", "I ", "I 've". It's really getting annoying and I've missed a few points on assignments because I have gotten into the flow of typing and haven't noticed it.
