[Question] Why do people here take the absolute worst advice?

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 02:30 PM PST

"Help! My device crashed to safe mode and safari won't open after beta 9!"

    "Clear cache"

Entire thread filled with "clear cache" (the right answer and fix), but OP never responds.

"Delete everything in /root! Trust me this work!"

    "Okkk I do that."

Like, they ignored every right answer with 0 feedback if it worked or not, but they accept the most stupid, outlandish proposal of a solution that is no where near right. At this point people just stop bothering to even try and help people who run into issues who do this.

[Upcoming] Flex 3 Update for iOS 11 Jailbreak

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 10:10 PM PST

John, the creator of Flex and Limitless, was messaging with me, and said that he was willing to update Flex for iOS 11, but that he does not have a device to do it with. I said I would try to provide him with one. I started a campaign (which I will not name here, since it is against the rules) to raise the money and buy a development device. It should be an easy target to hit, so I thought a reddit post was in order.

So basically: Yes it should happen at some point in the next couple months.

No ETA as of now, as I was saying, money is going to be the biggest factor of how long the whole process takes. This post was made to inform everyone of the development for Flex on iOS 11. I am NOT asking for donations on this post, but rather I am informing of the steps being taken to updating Flex.

This is my first post on Reddit, so I apologize if it is sloppy in any way.

(Also yes I realize that 10.3.1 does not have Flex support either. That is not forgotten, but also he does not have a device on 10.3.1 either, so I may try to work on that too.)

[Update] MitsuhaXI 0.2.0 now has preferences, supports Spotify's new UI and also fixes a few bugs! (May not be stable, so read the description.)

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 11:22 AM PST

    https://github.com/Ominousness/MitsuhaXI/releases/tag/v0.2.0

Both Spotify and Apple Music versions are now in one deb file (along with preferences).

Preferences may require few app restarts until it will work.

Electra b8 or newer is required for this version to work.

    Bug fixes:

    • Spotify's new UI now works with MitsuhaXI. (#14)
    • Visualizer will no longer go under the player in Apple Music. (#2)
    • Spotify changes (#16)
    • Apple Music stability and audio processing changes. (fixes #15)

    New features:

    • FFT mode - visualizer now responds to frequencies, not the amplitude. (Enable in preferences, may not work well with Apple Music.)
    • Color presets.
    • MitsuhaXI can now be disabled/enabled.
    • Wave offset (vertical) may be now manually set.

[News] SEP & Baseband iOS 11.3b1 are COMPATIBLE for iOS 11.1.2 (and maybe 11.0 - 11.1.1). Enjoy ~

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 09:48 AM PST

FOR NOW, i can say, latest signed SEP 11.x (final and beta stage) are fully compatible for all unsigned iOS 11.0 - 11.x.

Just restoring my 5s from 10.2 to 11.1.2 using SEP and Baseband from iOS 11.3b1, and it works flawlessly ~

And why i'm using -w flag ? To be honest, I'm just lazy to jailbreak / re-jailbreak iOS 10.2 yalu, so i just use the -w flag. And by the way, ONLY iP5s and iPad Air 1 on iOS 10.2 - 10.0.1 can use Nonce-collision method to downgrade / upgrade to unsigned firmware (no need jailbreak or tfp0 access). So don't try Nonce-collision method (i mean, don't use -w flag) on iP6 and later, it will NOT work.

Want proof ? Check here. Enjoy ~

[Discussion] I managed to TETHER downgrade an iPad 3 WiFi to iOS 6.1.3 and it should work on all 32 bit devices.

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 06:33 AM PST

You don't need any SHSH blobs for this method.

These are the devices it should work on: iPhone 4S, iPhone 5(C), iPad 2 (including iPad2,4), iPad 3, iPad 4, iPod touch 5

I have tried several different versions of iOS 7/8/9 and they all work. However 64-bit devices are not supported (yet) because kloader64 does not work with iOS 9+. But I could not get my iPad 4 Cellular to iOS 6 using this method. All other iOS versions work though. I haven't tried iOS 5 but it should also work. iOS 4 will not work because of different partition table. Note that iPhone 5C came with iOS 7.0 so only iOS 7+ works for the iPhone 5C.

    Here's how I did it:

    1. Jailbreak and dual boot the device with Coolbooter
    2. Boot the CoolBooter iOS
    3. Download kloader and dualbootstuff and the target ipsw file
    4. Resize the system partition with gptfdisk
    5. Run ASR to copy the decrypted root file system from the older firmware
    6. Make a few changes to the file system
    7. Decrypt and patch the bootchain files out of signature checks from the older firmware
    8. Run kloader and use iRecovery to boot the old kernel
    9. Wait for the device to boot, and setup the device
    10. A successfully downgraded device!

Note: this is NOT a tutorial, this is to show that is possible to downgrade 32 bit devices. Release coming soon.

This can be achieved in less than an hour for the advanced user.

Long story short; I first dual booted with CoolBooter then used ASR to copy decrypted filesystem from old firmware to /dev/disk0s1s1 then booted the old firmware with kloader.

EDIT: I only have iOS 9.3.5 and 8.4.1 OTA blobs.

    EDIT 2: Here's an imgur image: https://imgur.com/a/Wo9ud

EDIT 3: The source version can be any jailbreakable version.

EDIT 4: I also have successfully downgraded an iPad3,6 (iPad 4 (A1460) to iOS 9.1! Here are pictures (sorry for the quality): https://imgur.com/a/S28z2

EDIT 5: Any iOS 6 version should work, but I did not test them all.

[Release] Tweak Installer 1.1.1 (doesn't mess with system files without permission & without making backups)

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 05:25 AM PST

    Updated for Electra Beta 9

If you try to install a tweak that overwrites an existing file you will be shown this message 'Do you want to backup and overwrite /example/path/? (y/n/a)' This means that a tweak wants to replace a file that already exists, and if you press y it'll back it up and replace it. If you press a it'll do the same for all files in the tweak. If you press n it will skip that file. When uninstalling a tweak, for instance my CCUnrestrict package, it used to remove all files that were added which is why I had a rerestrict file. However now, it will restore any files that are deleted with the original files that were on device. If you pressed n while installing it, the file is skipped altogether as it is still an original iOS file.

[Question] Cydia is broken I need some help!

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 09:07 PM PST

So today I installed the g0blin jailbreak for my iPhone SE 10.3.2 and it seemed to install without a hitch. Everything was fine until I tried to boot Cydia and it would crash over and over. I first tried repeatedly pressing the "jailbreak" button in the g0blin app with and without bootstrap on. Then next thing I tried was to press "jailbreak" but then when it told me to respring I would press the home button and open Cydia app. To my surprise, this actually worked to the extent that the app actually launched. The problem was that once I tried installing an app, it either would not show up in the search, or it would spit "HTTP/1.1 503 Service Unavailable" once I actually tried installing an app. I was certain that this was because I didn't respring when I should have so I went back into the g0blin app, and reset my device. Once I reset, Cydia was back to crashing.

In recap when I press "Jailbreak" then "Respring", the phone resprings but all Cydia does is crash. When I press "Respring" then leave the app, Cydia works, but it spits the error code above while installing any tweak.

Any and all help would be appreciated! I have lost 2 phones to jailbreaking and I want to be smart about it this time so i'm hoping you all can help me out here!

[Question] Battery drain after updating to Electra beta 9?

    Posted: 27 Jan 2018 10:35 PM PST

My battery has been draining a lot after updating to beta 9 today, more then usual. I even deleted lots of tweaks today and I've lost so much battery so fast. Is anyone else noticing lots of battery drain after updating to Electra beta 9 compared to past betas?
