[Discussion] Animations are much smoother and a tad bit faster - iOS 11.3 Posted: 26 Jan 2018 09:27 AM PST What I've seen to be smooth and silky on my iPhone 7 Plus are: • 3D Touch • CC's pull up and it's small animations as well as it's 3D Touch • when clicking home • opening apps and folders •closing apps and folders In general the system is much better in terms of performance since iOS 11.2.5 and I was not throttled yet in iOS 11.2.5 (had checked several times). So it could indicate better RAM management and maybe even CPU performance on top of the throttling disabling for devices. [link] [comments]
[Feature] New watchOS charging animation! Posted: 25 Jan 2018 02:21 PM PST New watchOS 4.3 beta adds new charging animation. Also, new version of nightstand mode made for vertical screen https://twitter.com/maksplus15/status/956636829083668480 [link] [comments]

[Question] Switching to airplane mode does not disable wifi anymore? iOS 11.3 developer beta 1. Posted: 26 Jan 2018 10:07 AM PST Is anyone else experiencing this? Previously it used disconnect and we had to connect again. Bluetooth still disconnects though. Iphone 7. [link] [comments]

[BUG] Cell signal bars disappearing on home screen Posted: 26 Jan 2018 10:42 AM PST Whenever I swipe to my home screen, the signal strength bars for my cellular disappear or show no bars (even though I have service.) If I swipe or go to another page or the Control Center, they reappear. https://i.imgur.com/5ds8uOA.gifv [link] [comments]
[Feature] Sharing to the Music app Posted: 26 Jan 2018 10:31 AM PST I don't use Apple Music, but I thought people who used it would be happy to know they can share directly to Apple Music in iOS 11.3. [link] [comments]
[Discussion] 11.3 beta 1 faster than 10.3.3? Posted: 26 Jan 2018 08:31 AM PST I ran the early betas of iOS 11, but when I took my iPhone 6s Plus in to be repaired 4 months ago, they gave me a new phone that was still running 10.3.3. I've been waiting for 11.3 to be released before doing a fresh install Is it faster than 10.3.3? What about battery life? [link] [comments]

[Bug] Blank window when saving to files on iPad Pro Posted: 26 Jan 2018 07:06 AM PST When trying to save something to the files app from the share sheet in Safari, most of the times I'm presented with a blank white window where the list of Files folders/locations should be. The only way to get out of the window is to force close Safari and open it up again. Typically, once I do this, it will work the second time I try. Haven't been able to narrow down any specifics as to how to trigger or workaround other than what I described. [link] [comments]
[Bug] Some issues w/ audiobooks Posted: 26 Jan 2018 07:04 AM PST I have a collection of audiobooks that are synced to my device via iTunes, and I use the iBooks (now just Books) app for playback. On the 11.3 beta, I've been noticing some issues. Hard to describe exactly what's happening except to say it just sometimes doesn't work. When I open the app to resume playback, I see the list of audiobooks, but touching the one I want to play does nothing. Sometimes exiting the app and opening it again fixes it, sometimes it doesn't. I haven't been able to narrow down the cause or how to duplicate or workaround the bug. [link] [comments]
[Discussion] What is your 11.3 experience so far? Posted: 25 Jan 2018 01:24 PM PST I just installed 11.3 on my SE and it runs smooth asf. There is no difference in my geekbench scores between 11.2.5 and 11.3. But everything is smooth. The control center, launching apps, loading apps. The battery life is the big question rn. But of course that I need more time to determine the battery difference. What about you? UPDATE: So I've had the beta for a day now and I can say that the battery live is not affected. Or tbh the battery life is better. My usage is the same as yesterday and the day before that etc. The bugs aside (tbh every ios version has bugs. No matter a beta or a final public version) IOS 11.3 B1 is actually amazing. Hope that B2 performs as well as B1 or better. [link] [comments]
[BUG] ios Apple TV remote app shits the bed when playing Netflix content Posted: 26 Jan 2018 06:11 AM PST Like the title says. Bothe control center remote and remote app shot the bed and refuse to connect until I use the physical remote to restart the unit (the ATV4k). Haven't tried it on other third party content or apps to see if the same issue occurs. As long as I stick to iTunes content and related applications everything is hunky Dory. To be clear I can navigate fine through the Netflix app but as soon as I play something I have to restart my Apple TV to regain a connection on my phone. I've lurked here for a while and this may be the wrong sub for this but atv sub doesn't seem to do beta stuff. [link] [comments]
[DISCUSSION] Performance throttling is NOT completely disabled on iOS 11.3 Beta 1 Posted: 26 Jan 2018 10:35 AM PST Since the release of iOS 11.3 Developer Beta 1 a few days ago, numerous users and a well-known YouTuber have been proclaiming that iOS' dynamic performance adjusting feature is disabled on devices which support it, namely the iPhones 6/Plus, 6s/Plus, 7/Plus, and SE. Before iOS 11.3 B1, on my iPhone 6 Plus with a worn battery, my phone's peak performance is artificially capped at 1127 MHz as seen in this photo. After installing iOS 11.3 B1, my phone now retuned to running at 1400 MHz regardless of my battery wear. However, further examination shows that this is not a permanent scenario. Oftentimes, since this beta, my phone has been running a little warmer than usual, and since then, further observation shows that my clock speeds still dynamically adjust when needed, therefore debunking that the performance throttling feature is completely disabled as some people have claimed. Furthermore, with iOS 11.3 B1, aside from 1400MHz, my phone also runs at a variety of frequencies such as 1314MHz, 929MHz , 1374MHz, and 700MHz… you get the idea. The dynamic performance throttling feature seems a lot more dynamic while also removing the artificial maximum performance limit that was on previous iOS versions for devices with a worn battery. Finally, the performance adjustment is definitely felt since it's evident that apps tend to load a lot slower, the display gets a little dimmer, and I witness a lot more frame drops than usual. [question] is content blocker working for you guys? Posted: 26 Jan 2018 02:29 AM PST I can't seem have them enabled. Ive tried restarting my phone and using other blocker but they just automatically disable On 11.3, iPhone C Edit: They seem to working now after a reinstall and a restart [link] [comments]
[discussion] Battery life on iPhone SE with 11.3. beta 1 Posted: 26 Jan 2018 02:27 AM PST Guys hello, throw at me randomly your battery life with the new beta, I'm curios. If it's too early, come back later please. On the other hand we can discuss about - on which beta of iOS 11 did you get the best results? For me it was 11.2. beta 3, it could been same as when I bought my iPhone. And something OTP - Do you think that battery life of - 24 hours of standby and 6 hours of usage is ok? Now I'm just lightly thinking about waiting for the new "SE 2" or changing battery. I don't want to do the second option because my phone is just 6 months old. So guys, let me know I love discussions. [link] [comments]
[Discussion] Turn on auto brightness to save battery? Posted: 26 Jan 2018 05:50 AM PST In iOS 11.3 b1, in the battery settings, it suggested me to enable auto brightness in order to save battery. I don't understand. How does auto brightness "save" battery. Shouldn't it use more battery?? [link] [comments]

[question] WhatsApp messages not being received when in background. iOS 11.3 public beta 1 Posted: 26 Jan 2018 04:11 AM PST As the title says, i'm on iOS public beta 11.3 and Whatsapp messages are only received when the app is opened. This didn't happen on 11.2.5. Not sure what gives. Anyone else have this issue yet? Or any suggestions? [link] [comments]
[Bug] Turn off full tunnel VPN apps before updating to 11.3 beta 1 Posted: 25 Jan 2018 12:05 PM PST I used Adguard Pro's DNS filtering in "full tunnel" mode on 11.2.5. After updating to 11.3 beta 1, my iPhone began to crash within 5-10 seconds of unlocking the device and connecting to a wifi network. If you update to 11.3 beta 1 with a VPN enabled, you may enter a boot loop where the device crashes before the post-update setup sequence can be completed ("press home button to finish setting up iOS 11.3" etc.), but the VPN cannot be turned off until the setup sequence is complete; after this your only option for recovery is full device restore via iTunes. I have reported this bug to both Apple and Adguard. In the meantime, split-tunnel mode in Adguard and other split-tunnel VPNs (any app that shows the "VPN" badge in the status bar while you are using it, I believe) work fine. [link] [comments] |
