Upgraded from iPhone X to iPhone 13 Pro. I miss 3D Touch. Posted: 02 Jun 2022 08:51 AM PDT I mostly used 3D Touch for moving the cursor on the keyboard. On the X, this can be done by pressing harder on any keyboard part. I know it can done now with a long press on the space key. I don't know how it can be done on an numeric keyboard. Anyway, iPhone 13 Pro feels like a great upgrade from X — specially the screen with the ProMotion — but in some aspects, like lack of 3D Touch, it does feel like a downgrade. Other minor things I like more about the X is the slimmer body and slightly smaller height. No regrets in upgrading though. Battery, night photos, ProMotion, white point reduction, processor speed are very welcome. [link] [comments]
Swipe to switch apps EXPLAINED Posted: 01 Jun 2022 07:45 PM PDT The swipe the bottom bar to switch between open apps feature was, for me, notoriously tricky to figure out; until that, I didn't use it and wasted a useful thumb-saving gesture. Explained as easily as I know how: You *can also obviously swipe up to view your app switcher stack order as a reference without disturbing the order - but if you switch the app while using it, once again, to the right of the app stack you go. Posted: 01 Jun 2022 07:33 PM PDT Personally, I find it very weird. I get that this helps profit margins, and the mini wasn't selling super well, but I think it makes no sense to eliminate a small flagship phone in favor of yet another big flagship. I get that's what the market trends show people want, but damn. The mini line had its place, and an iPhone 14 Max doesn't really. The pro max is, as the name suggests, the best of the best. Not that I hate the idea, i just don't get it. How do y'all feel about it? [link] [comments]

Anyone else experiencing a weird buzzing sound on videos recorded with their WhatsApp app? Posted: 02 Jun 2022 11:03 AM PDT Videos I record inside the app have a weird buzzing or static sound on the background. This is not present on videos recorded with the stock camera app or other third party apps (including WhatsApp busines and instagram, both developed by meta) I've tried with my mothers phone and she doesn't have the issue but she doesn't have the same phone (I have a 13 pro max, she has an 11) and I guess WhatsApp's A/B rollout of version updates could mean we're not on the same build. Could someone with an iPhone 13 Pro Max record a video on the latest WhatsApp version and check if they have a buzzing sound on the background of their video? I understand WhatsApp isn't very popular here but what everyone in my country uses so I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out and figure out if this is a software issue. Posted: 02 Jun 2022 09:22 AM PDT Here are mine, share yours below! 1. Battery Percentage in status bar (I don't care about how many bars of cell service I have, I want to know my battery percentage!!) 2. Siri Improvements, especially general questions and information (and on HomePod, Siri is worse than on my phone it seems) 3. Apple Maps Improvements (until they have cycling directions as good as google maps, Uber/Lyft estimates, better discovery and review info, and most of all, a direction button like the bottom right blue button on google maps so you can change starting point easily from your location to another place). I want to like Apple Maps and I like some of the features that google maps doesn't have, but it's not there yet for me. [link] [comments]
Face ID never turns completely off even if disabled? Posted: 02 Jun 2022 11:06 AM PDT I'm considering upgrading my iPhone 7 (which is now experiencing "loop disease") to the iPhone 13 mini. I'm just a bit apprehensive of the Face ID. Not because of privacy concerns or anything, but I've heard that even when you turn Face ID off, the infrared sensor and/or flood illuminator still stay on? Basically, there seems to be constant infrared light despite deactivating it. And this can be confirmed by a 2nd camera (infrared is invisible to the human eye, but a camera can pick it up). Is this true? Or have the people experiencing this just had faulty phones or something? [link] [comments]

So..Did you see the Dave2D live demo of the 14 Pro Max clone ? Posted: 01 Jun 2022 11:23 AM PDT Dave2D recently released a video showing a live demo of the 14 Pro Max with its pill and cutout. Side by side with a 13 Pro Max. The comparison of the notch and pill during movies was very interesting. The pill was much more distracting. Side by side the pill + cutout was almost as wide as the notch. It also took up much more vertical space. So now I'm having second thoughts about the pill. Anyone else feels so ? Dream iphone: iPhone 11 Pro with 120 hz Posted: 31 May 2022 06:04 AM PDT Loved the size, weight, design and battery in that model. Only thing missing for me was the refresh rate. Using 13 pro with flat sides which is fine but the wideness and overall weight makes me wish for 11 pro size/shape pro model. Probably would never happen. What's your dream iPhone? Is 4K 120FPS rumored for iPhone 14? Or 8K 60FPS? Posted: 31 May 2022 06:28 AM PDT I've been following the rumors briefly and see that there is a rumor for a new 48 megapixels camera. I'm wondering if that will in theory let us record 8K videos on the iPhone? I know the use case of that is going to be pretty low, since not a lot of people have 8K displays to watch them back on. But, the new iPhone supports 120 Hz, so is it possible to have 120FPS videos on the iPhone for a smoother playback? I believe right now its not possible correct? [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 May 2022 09:48 AM PDT Password manager for iOS also has a built in 2FA code storage. I was able to remove Google authenticator from my phone now due to finding it and it auto fills the code when it's time so you don't have to switch apps copy and paste it. Just thought I'd share [link] [comments]
Why was the iPhone so revolutionary? Posted: 31 May 2022 11:01 AM PDT In your opinion, what made the iPhone so revolutionary? What impact did it have on the world? I am talking about social, economic, technological, etc... ETA: I'm talking about the original iPhone. I am not asking about iPhones vs Androids or anything like that. I am specifically asking the following: how was the world changed on June 29th, 2007? [link] [comments] |
