    Would you significantly lower your daily Move goal if you knew you weren't going to be as active for a while?

    For context, I started using my Apple Watch to track my physical activity and encourage me to be more active at the very end of 2020, and to that end I've made my daily Move goal of 700 calories for almost 550 days now and really love the streak because it shows how dedicated I've been. I've missed a Stand goal or an Exercise goal a couple times in the past year and a half, but never the Move goal.

    In a couple days I'll be having a major surgery which will have me completely inactive for days and then mostly sedentary with no exercise for a few weeks after that as I heal. For the longest time I'd been lamenting that I'd lose my streak after all my hard work, but then I started wondering if I should just lower the daily Move goal to something very low so I could maintain it during my recovery.

    Under normal circumstances I'd just push harder to reach a daily goal if I fell behind, but this time it won't be in my control to just get more active, so my question here is how others would handle it I suppose. Would you lower the goal so your minimal daily movement still closes the ring, or would you just let the streak go and start over once recovered?

    Focus Mode not working on Apple Watch?

    Hi all,

    Having some trouble with Focus Mode on iOS 15.

    I've set up a 'Work' focus mode. It works beautifully, hiding notifications from apps that I tell it to and clumps them into a 'While in Work Focus' button in the notification centre. Brilliant.

    However the notifications still come through to the watch. Why?

    iPhone SE2 - iOS 15.5
    AppleWatch 5 - WatchOS 8.6

    I've tried rebooting my watch to no avail. I can't even see 'Work' focus, just 'Do Not Disturb' and 'Sleep'?

    New watch battery defective?

    I bought my first Apple Watch yesterday, a series 7, and it was dead upon opening the box. I had to charge it for 2 hours before I was able to use it to set up. Today when it was ay 67% I charged it for 24 minutes and it charged to 87%. I'm wondering if it be battery or charge is defective and I should bring it back to the store for an exchange, or if this is normal? I was pretty worried about how long it needed to charge out of the box, but even now after hearing people say it takes 20 mins to charge fully, mine took 24 to increase 20%.

    Is Swimming at beach with my watch fine?

    I have the series 7 and I plan on swimming with it on, I looked it up to be more cautious and I'm getting pretty mixed answers. Should I just take it off like I usually do or will it be fine?

    Apple Leather Band - Huge Disappointment. Don't Waste Money

    Even thought Apple leather bands are so much more expensive than ones on Amazon or Etsy, I thought it might be worth it as it's something I would be wearing every day. Besides, good leather goods last ages, which I know from experience with other good leather goods I own.

    However, I regret spending +$100 (with taxes) on Apple genuine leather bands. It has not been even a year, but it's fraying. The leather has been blackened. They must have covered the band with 1 mm of leather layer. It's definitely not worth the money. I wish I would have bought something from Amazon if this is going to be this bad within a few months.

    Cellular connectivity get better with latest gen Apple Watch?

    Currently have Gen 4. I like to leave my iPhone behind when I go on a run, but at times need to make a phone call or two. But the cellular connection is not very strong.

    So my question is, has anyone noticed a better cellular connection with a series 7 apple watch vs one of the earlier generations?

    Your help is greatly appreciated. Google search did not return any answers I could see.

    How to disconnect an Apple Watch from a phone without the watch.

    I no longer have my Apple Watch but every few minutes it asks me to update. I tried removing it as a recognized device but it says to open the Apple Watch app and then I need to have the Watch next to the phone. Is there any way to remove it from pairing with my phone without the Watch?

    Sleep HRV in WatchOS 9

    With the upcoming WatchOS 9, has anything been released about any changes to HRV measurements during sleep? My understanding is the watch currently measures HRV at random points during the night. I haven't seen anything mentioning a change to this practice. Adding sleep stages might indicate a change in HRV measurements, meaning continuously throughout the night, but I haven't seen anything mentioning that specifically.

    NEED HELP FINDING A STOLEN APPLE WATCH SERIES 6.

    The following are the chain of events from when my friend's apple watch got stolen up till now.

    1.. Robbery incident happened in the dormitories of our campus on the 20th of May. Everyone in the room was out, and room was left unlocked. A leather bag which included the said apple watch and a Mac book air was taken.

    • Apple Watch series 6 with a WatchOS 6 with a passcode.
    • the MacBook Air never showed in the Find My app for some reason.

    2.. Tried tracking down the watch with his Find My app on his iPhone and the watch's approximate radius was within the same building.

    • Brief spot-checks were done by the campus authorities to the students within that building and yielded nothing.
    • The physical nature of the watch makes it virtually impossible to see it with only our bare eyes.

    3.. Today, the 13th of June, about 3 weeks since the incident, the watch's location updated, and notified a timestamp of "yesterday at 8:45 p.m."

    • new building is still within the campus.
    • This is a revelation and a new lead. But much like before, the approximate radius of the watch's last location makes it equally as hard to track down.

    My concerns right now are:

    1. How does the new Find My network work?
    2. Will it still pinpoint a location of a possibly dead device?
    3. Will bringing more apple device while hunting for the lost one increase its location?

    What do we do now knowing that the device is still very much in the campus and not sold off overseas? Our hopes were reignited today upon saying actual movement from the app.

    Auto Sleep "Awake" Time

    Hi, I recently purchased Auto Sleep, and it seems like quite a useful app, and records most of the things with accuracy. But I just have some concerns with the "awake" time. While the native sleep app records the "awake" time over several time intervals, Auto Sleep shows the time "awake" all bundled together in one specific interval" itself.

    Note that the times spent "Awake" are quite similar in native sleep and autosleep app, it just how Auto Sleep records it is my concern. I'm pretty sure i wake up multiple times during my sleep, even it is just for a minute, and the inbuilt sleep app seems to record every instance of it.

    Any insights would be appreciated.

    Watch locks during night using AutoSleep

    When I wear my watch to bed and use autosleep. When I wake up the watch is locked and the sleep hasn't been recorded. Does anyone know why this happens
