| Posted: 13 Jun 2022 12:10 PM PDT I'm a freelancer and recently missed out on a VERY lucrative job because the message from the sender, who I had texted with previously many times, didn't come through and he hired someone else. I blamed my carrier, T-Mobile, for dropping the text, but when I opened my iPad for the first time in a week, there was the job offer as an iMessage. I have also received random iMessages that should have been texts from my dad and another friend. I don't know what to Google for help, but essentially I don't want to receive ANY iMessages to the iPad. I strictly use it for reading comic books and for certain iOS-exclusive apps I need for my job. I would dig into this more with the senders but one is an employer, one is a friend who is super busy, and one is my tech-illiterate father. I know next to nothing about iMessage, AppleIDs, etc, so I'm not even sure how my phone number would be showing up as an iMessage number, if it's even being associated with my number? | Posted: 13 Jun 2022 01:50 PM PDT Ok guys, I've hung on to Google Picasa (Desktop) on my Win10 machine and have been using that as primary storage for my photos. The photos are organized in folders which are automatically sorted by date by the software. I bought a Mac mini last week with my plan to migrate all photos and videos over to the photos app, then eventually sync them to iCloud photos. The total is about 600GB and I changed the system photos library on the mac to an external SSD. I copied over all the folders in Picasa on the Win10 machine onto an external HDD. When I plug the HDD into the Mac every picture reads todays date (which is what shows up in the photos app) while the "modified date" is the date the photo was taken. How can I get photos to show the modified date instead of the date the files were migrated onto the HDD? Picture of example file in comments. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 13 Jun 2022 05:20 PM PDT Aside from general stuff for getting used to iOS and actually moving in, some background: I was planning on switching from Android to iOS wayy back in 2021, however when I actually got the phone and went to transfer my data, it literally would not transfer due to the amount of photos (i have roughly 15000 photos). Every time i tried to transfer the android to iOS app would crash and cancel said transfer. This made me return the phone entirely, and i ended up getting the newest samsung note. Is there documentation of this crash? How can i avoid it to actually move in to an apple device? Not sure how to move photos off of the phone, since Samsung's new desktop feature for androids makes it impossible to transfer photos off of said device, Samsung ""dex"" is so trash i literally don't understand how they're still in business. | Posted: 13 Jun 2022 01:11 PM PDT So I found an old iPhone 3 in a drawer. I charged the battery and I want to do a hard factory reset How do I do this? I went into the setting and chose to erase all media and setting, but it's asking me for my iTunes password, which I give, but it tells me it doesn't recognize the server or something. Probably because it's too old. But first, the reason I want to do this is so I can download the Google Authenticator App and create a back-up. If it won't be possible to do this with a factory reset iPhone 3, then I don't need to bother. I'll just toss it back into the drawer. [link] [comments] |
| Music not playing instantly on iPhone Posted: 13 Jun 2022 04:51 PM PDT Lately I've noticed something strange with the Music app on my iPhone 12 (iOS 15.4). All of my music is loaded via iTunes, so every song is basically in my device, no subscription or downloads whatsoever. However, when I turn the network off (mobile data and wifi), and put on a song, the song doesn't play. It stays at 0:00 for about 3-4 secs and then it starts. This happens for every song I manually choose to play. (The next song in the queue starts normally after the current one is finished.) It sometimes is fixed after a reboot, but after 2-3 days the error re-occurs. Has anyone had a similar problem or know what could be going on? I would be very thankful! Thanks in advance! I would like to store my photos locally on my phone until I need to outsource them. I'd like to have the cloud photo-free so I have the 5GB for important documents. However, I struggle in uploading the photos, since some will be uploaded twice or more often and in the wrong order. I am more than thankful for any advice and hints. Posted: 13 Jun 2022 04:07 PM PDT for example, if i'm googling an address and i click on the "directions" button, it will bring me straight to the app store page for google maps, then i click open and it brings me to the maps but doesn't transfer the address. it is doing the same thing for reddit posts on the browsers, but won't actually pull up the page i am referencing once i make it over to the reddit app. This also goes for amazon, etsy, youtube, instagram, facebook, etc. basically every app at this point and i have never had this issue before. Typically the app store would never even come up, it would just go directly to the app. Is there a fix for this or is this some new glitch? [link] [comments] |

I'm trying to surprise a friend of mine for his birthday with all the music he lost that he's already paid for because he couldn't recover his iTunes account... Dragging and dropping doesn't work anymore and it makes that dedunk noise when I go to add file to library... I was able to put the Vikings theme song as his alarm but nothing else is working!
