This Safari setting might give you an instant speed boost Posted: 14 May 2022 05:29 PM PDT Anytime I had multple tabs open I would find Safari taking a long time to load the web pages. I had to install Google Chrome to get around it, until I came across a post on reddit that has made pages load instantly now. Even simple things like full-screening YouTube is 90% faster. Safari Preferences > Tabs > Change to 'Compact' I can finally stop using Chrome! Another thing it does it change the toolbar to the colour of the webpage background which is also cool! 00 [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 May 2022 06:22 AM PDT Current Apple Pro Here, I haven't seen this in the news at all but Apple is having a serious staffing problem right now. I mean everyone is having one but apple never had this problem during the pandemic because of the pay and benefits but over even the last 2 weeks, more than 60% of the higher ups in the 3 stores I've worked in have quit. Most of the them after working at apple for more than 2 decades. I spoke with my store leader and she says its super widespread ands the company is having a huge exodus problem which just confirmed my suspicion. I discussed this with my store leader (these guys are basically running the entire city they're in, in terms of apple so they're very tight lipped) and she says that apple has lost its values and moved to this like "temporary seasonal worker model" which is true because its how I got hired almost a year ago and now I'm a full time pro. She says that Apple has lost Its DNA as a company and its really forcing the people who've been here the longest to leave because none of their feedback to Cupertino is being listened to and apple is just handing out broad and non compromising decisions that negatively effect everyone for the sake of simplicity. I think that's another reason why we've seen so many stores vote to unionize and If my store votes I will vote yes. Aside from thinking everyone should be in a union, apple has completely lost the trust of those of us on the ground actually putting in the work and collective bargaining could be the solution. I hope apple turns around and starts to act like themselves again and I understand being multinational now with over 500 stores makes managing them all difficult but Goddamn even since I got hired last year its gotten much worse. Its truly a shame because the best part about apple is their hiring practices are stellar truly the best group of workers I've ever been with. Respectful management, Great environment, and in general a fun place to work but as we've seen they've changed. My last store had 6 managers which is low and now it has 2 and no store leader because of this exodus. Truly a shame. I was really excited to work for apple after hearing such good things.

Do you think Apple will launch Apple Card & Apple Cash outside of the US this year? Posted: 13 May 2022 10:50 AM PDT With Apple Cash & Apple Card trademarks having been applied for (2019) & approved (2021) in Canada, and the recent change of Apple Cash cards to Visa (more widely accepted internationally than Discover cards), do you think that this is the year these two payment options will be available outside of the USA? Why hasn’t Apple issued a statement in support of women after the Supreme Court leak? Posted: 14 May 2022 08:33 PM PDT Apple comments on so many social topics—Black Lives Matter, protection for immigrants, disagreements of actions taken by Trump's administration, etc—but I've seen not a peep from Apple yet. What's their stance? Do they support women or not? It's been a week. [link] [comments]
So in what way(s) is Apple < Google Posted: 14 May 2022 02:17 PM PDT I'm asking because I just gave iPhone a shot again for the first time since the 5. I've been using Pixel/Nexxus phones since then. I've had this iPhone for less than 6 months. I don't take a lot of pictures, and no video. I have a few ebooks, but I pulled them all from my Pixel. So, why is it that during all that time using Pixel and Nexxus, I backed up all of my pictures, videos, documents, ebooks, apps, contacts, etc, etc, and I never had to pay anything for the storage. Now less than 6 months in Apple is going to nag me until I either pay monthly for storage or delete my backups and/or pictures? Is it because Apple doesn't appreciate us as much? Does Apple not have the resources that Google has? Or, and this is my theory, has Apple migrated from being a company that was all about making great tech, to one that just makes the same trash everyone else is making and rides on the legacy that Steve Jobs and "good Apple" built, while milking us wherever they can? Also, now that they're catching so much flack for being so predatory toward their App Developers, can we expect them to try to make that up by milking us harder? What's the next monitory stand going to cost, and can I expect to start paying by the day to unlock Yeah. I'm a little upset about this. [link] [comments]
Will Apple release a full fledged password manager in macOS 13 and iOS 16? Posted: 13 May 2022 01:09 AM PDT Do you think Apple will release a full fledged standalone 1Password / Bitwared / LastPass alternative app for macOS and iOS in the coming release, or is that too risky for them? Ie Sherlocking and angering too many big and powerful developers? Me personally am hoping for something in-house from Apple that's better than their current solution, so I can finally ditch 1P8. Reachability should display the next smaller iPhone’s UI ex: 13PM > 13 > mini > equivalent step down Posted: 13 May 2022 06:37 AM PDT So I think a good way to make a one handed mode is to make the UI look like the next smaller iPhone for example a IPhone 13 pro max would display an iPhone 13 UI and the 13 would display a iPhone mini It would also be great if it would stay like that until you touch the empty area. This mode could be a different accessibility mode apart from reachability. Moreover, for even more functionality you can choose between different sizes if you have a max phone [link] [comments]
Will iPhone ever use Apple Pencil? Posted: 12 May 2022 02:42 PM PDT This seems like the next logical step and would further differentiate the pro lines from the regular iPhones. If the iPhone Pros get a bit more vertical length, as rumors seem to suggest, that would also take care of charging space issues. Going this approach might also mean phasing out the iPad mini at some point. [link] [comments]
Are you "all in" on Apple Services? Posted: 12 May 2022 09:10 AM PDT While we all love our Apple hardware I find the general sentiment is that they are still growing as a software services company. Have you taken the plunge and gone all in on what they have to offer? I feel that with my Apple One subscription I am more inclined to try out all the things, and have pretty much switched over. What about you? Anything holding you back? [link] [comments] |
