Im trying to import a slide show saved as PDF but when I import into OneNote the pages are comically large. Anyone have any suggestions? | A very stupid (but valid) idea Posted: 10 Mar 2022 11:15 AM PST First, sorry for my english Second, This is not a real option and i'm just curious about what do you think...🤔 Today a stupid idea cross my mind: As a graphic and multimedia designer, my dream always is a very powerful mac and obviusly, the new mac Studio is perfect and now makes me my see my mac Mini m1 (16gb) like a toy. The problem is that is expensive and i bought the mini 8 months ago. Right now i'm not gonna buy a new $2.000 mac Studio, But ¿what if i buy another 8gb mac Mini? Is a sort of "Moneyball" option...Let me explain: the only reason to buy a powerful mac is to work in Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign and After Effects at the same time. That's a heavy workload for a "Small" computer. Universal control, theoretically, offers an almost seamless experience between 2 or more devices... So, if i use a mini (8gb) for Id and Ai, and the other (16gb) for PS and Ae, i may have the power similar to a mac Studio (base model) for less money and with a safety net (if one of them fails, i still have a totally functional and capable mac). So ¿Is universal control a remotelly viable option for a "modular/Low Cost" option to get a powerful setup? ¿what do you think? ¿what Pros/cons do you see? [link] [comments] | ||

| External monitor issues with Macbook Air m1 Posted: 10 Mar 2022 02:47 PM PST So before I had the macbook m1 air I was using a thinkpad t430 with a 1080p Samsung external monitor, the monitor looked really good with the thinkpad but with the macbook the colors look washed and the brightness is lower, I have it connected through a hub with hdmi input, I was thinking that maybe getting a hdmi to usb-c adapter could solve the issue but I'm not sure, also I live in South America and 4k monitor are extremely expensive here with prices close to $1k and it's not worth it for me to get one. | Dock and Mission Control not working when mouse is connected Posted: 10 Mar 2022 02:25 PM PST My dock isn't responding when I move my cursor over it, it's magnification doesn't work when I put it to be always visible (which I don't want), I can't drag apps around in Mission Control when I have my mouse plugged in, but I can use my trackpad to do these things when it's not, any idea of a fix? | cannot acess external hard drive after time machine backup Posted: 10 Mar 2022 02:37 PM PST I made a couple of mistakes in choosing an external ssd that had 500-600 gb's of data on it to backup my m1 mba. It was formatted in the ntfs file system, and as i was backing up my mac (1-2 mins in) i decided that i did not need a backup so i cancelled the backup and ejected my drive. Now the external ssd is formatted in apfs and i cannot get all of my information back from my ssd. Is there anything that I can do, any help is appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||

Company wants to have a company branded video playing as a screensaver on our Mac fleet (mostly running Big Sur and Monterey). Now I have seen several third party apps that either allow you to use photos or TvOS streams as screensavers (even scripts but I don't want to screw around with those on our MDM) but nothing to be able to use an MP4 as one. | Weird issue with external hard drive... Help appreciated! Posted: 10 Mar 2022 12:09 PM PST So I have an external 1TB drive that I've been using for both general storage (pictures, Lightroom catalogs, etc.) on 2 machines and as a Time Machine backup on one machine. I got a new MBP about 3 weeks ago and backed up my old one to the external and moved on. Today I plugged the external drive into my machine and, instead of showing up as the general storage external, it's showing up as Lightroom Desktop and only shows my Lightroom data. Any ideas as to what's going on here? Really hoping I didn't lose all the rest of the data, as that's years and years of pictures. TIA! [link] [comments] | ||
