    What have you done with your iPhone that's really excited you?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2022 03:59 AM PST

    Long story, short: My iPhone 13 Pro Max is my sixth iPhone. I've built up a great collection of apps that are central to my life. But I feel I'm maybe missing out on innovation. What cool things can I use my iPhone to do? Where can it help in my life?

    Anyone gone from 12mini to 13mini? Is there a big difference?

    Love the 13 mini but there are two things that are bugging me.

    Posted: 10 Mar 2022 11:00 AM PST

    1. The vibrate is considerably weaker, and for the first time in many years I have stopped leaving my phone on constant silent because I missed a few calls.

    2. The volume buttons are lower and I keep pushing volume up instead of volume down.

    First world problems I know..

    If you use foreign apps that used to be, but suddenly are not available in your primary region, you can still update them from your purchased app list

    Posted: 10 Mar 2022 08:34 AM PST

    I think this will be of interest to expatriate users.

    In my case, my primary region is Korea, but the absolute majority of app purchases come from the US store because there was a point in time around iOS 4 and 5 when the Korean App Store had no games due to ratings regulations, so my only choice was to buy gift cards and buy elsewhere. And for quite a while, apps targeting Korean residents - regional bank apps, credit card apps, etc. - were available to download on the US store.

    I recently upgraded phones, but when I tried to redownload apps, I realized that a good chunk were no longer available in the US store. However, I was still able to get around that by downloading from the purchased page, and now it turns out that updates are also possible in that manner.

    iPhone 7 plus vs 13 pro max

    Posted: 10 Mar 2022 09:55 AM PST

    So I recently upgraded from my iPhone 7 plus to 13 pro max but I'm not really happy with it, I liked 7 plus design more with the curved edges of the phone and all aluminum body.. light and durable

    Apart from the upgraded screen and better battery life … it's not really worth it.. was expecting more for such a price point .. keep in mind that I'm not into gaming or processor Intensive tasks

    Seamlessly Switching Between Two iPhones for Travel and Adventure - Anyone done it?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2022 10:58 AM PST

    Very curious if keeping a secondary device synced via wifi results in a fairly seamless sim switch experience before heading out on adventures.?

    I do video work so I often have a top tier phone for the cameras, but I also travel and do tons of outdoor activities so I don't always want to be flaunting nor risking a stupidly high priced top tier phone.

    For example if I was going to a developing country or going rock climbing, it'd be nice to simply take a less flashy/less expensive phone. This way if it breaks, it hurts less, but also so I don't always have to be putting out that three-camera-giant-phone vibe.

    So I'm wondering if maybe iCloud syncing contacts, messages, and photos between two iPhones would be good system to "mirror" my daily driver so that I could simply keep the lesser device synced via wifi most of the time, then pop my sim in before going on adventures.

    Anyone out there do this kind of switching?

    EDIT: I do not have an Apple Watch, so that is one less moving part here.

    Is it possible for iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max to get Always-On Display through a future software update?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2022 11:49 AM PST

    Or will it require a different screen mechanism hardware wise?

    Ghost touching only happens on some apps?

    Posted: 10 Mar 2022 02:08 PM PST

    I broke my screen and got it replaced by a 3rd party a while ago. It started ghost touching and It's made it very painful to use this phone for the past few months. It only ghost touched and swipes on some apps though, which is weird. YouTube, safari, are the most common. Snapchat, photos, Twitter and lots of other apps, I do not get ghost touches. Why is this? If I don't get them on those apps, is there something I can do so I don't get them on the other apps?

    I'm just wondering how durable is your iPhone 12? And how many times have you dropped it?

    I think it'd be cool to have custom messages when it alerts your contacts that you have notifications silenced. Anyone agree?

    iPhone 12/Pro lacking MagSafe case options

    Posted: 10 Mar 2022 06:41 AM PST

    I feel like I got screwed with my iPhone 12 Pro case-wise since it was the first iPhone to have MagSafe, and it took a long time for third party MagSafe cases to become available. By the time the iPhone 13 came out, MagSafe cases were only being made for the iPhone 13.

    So now, the only legit MagSafe options for the iPhone 12/Pro are pretty much Apple or OtterBox. I've tried them all and none of them are great. I'm only interested in cases that are about the size/thickness of Apple's silicone and leather cases. Below is a list of my issues with the ones that I've tried.

    If anyone knows of any underrated iPhone 12/Pro cases with (real) MagSafe, please share! Otherwise, I actually like Apple's clear MagSafe case, it's just too slippery and I need to somehow make it less slippery. Any ideas for this would be appreciated as well!

    ~~~ Experienced Cases List ~~~
    Apple Silicone Case: Excellent at first, but after about 4 weeks, gets too rubbery/sticky
    Apple Leather Case: Excellent at first, but after about 4 weeks, gets too sticky (even after cleaning)
    Apple Clear Case: Decent, but way too slippery.
    OtterBox Aneu w/ MagSafe: Pretty good, this has been the best one in most categories. It's just a bit too thick, and the power button cover is too squishy (instead of clicky).
    Spigen Mag Armor compatible w/ MagSafe: Didn't try this, but I heard that the MagSafe is not magnetic enough. I need it to be legit enough to stay on my Belkin MagSafe car mount. Let me know if this is still worth a try.
    Nomad Modern Leather Case: I'm curious about this one, I'm not sure it's worth the price. Let me know if you think otherwise.
    iPhone se with a larger screen ever gonna come?
    Posted: 10 Mar 2022 08:49 AM PST
    I bought the iPhone se 2020 but kept reading that there was a se with a larger screen in the works. I read 2022 but looks like the se 2022 won't have a larger screen to any significance. I read online that 2023 or 24. When will we get confirmation?
    120hz on the 13
    Posted: 10 Mar 2022 08:19 AM PST
    I know 120hz refresh rate is only available in the Pro and PM. I was wondering if Apple can add it in a iOS update for 13. Stupid question I'm aware. I mean is it purely built into the physical screen?
    Am I crazy, or does this make sense?
    Posted: 10 Mar 2022 07:13 AM PST
    With the announcement of the ultrafusion in the new Apple desktop, I think about the idea of 'dual'. Is the usage of 'dual chips' in the desktop a precursor to using dual chips in a 'folding iphone/iPad device'?
    What do you think will happen to the famous Russian apps like Faceapp, Prequel, PhotoLab, etc.?
    Sanctions are imposed on everything related to Russia. Do you think this will affect the famous Russian applications?
