Magic Mouse 1/2 / Worth it or not? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 04:29 PM PDT I have a friend who's willing to sell me his Magic Mouse 2 for half the price of retail and I'm wondering if this sub thinks the Magic Mouse is worth it (either at this price or in general). Also is there any difference between the first gen to second gen? Any chances of a third gen in the near future? [link] [comments]

MacBook Air (2011 11") Blank screen of death. Help? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 07:37 PM PDT I had my computer in a backpack, when I put it in it was at 100%. I just got back on it and the AC adapter light is green and the power button is ineffective, SMC/PRAM reset is ineffective, 'special power cycles' don't work. I followed all instructions on apple's 'helpful' page. I even contacted support and they said that they couldn't help me because it's too old. The only sign of life in my computer other then the green light is the sound of the fan starting then immediately stopping whenever I try to power it on, another time the fan was on high with no other vital signs before I turned off the computer. My MacBook is 'obselete' to Apple and I don't have any sort of money to be taking it to a repair shop. I don't have an Apple store near me and can't get to a 'service provider'. Please help me get my computer to at least turn on. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jul 2018 09:23 AM PDT It's a MBP 13" 2017 w/TB, bought it in December 2017. Since the start I have had issues with letters B and N, but they would appear for a few minutes and disappear, so I was fine with it! Somewhere between that time I bought my MBP, and now, I have dropped it a few times, getting an obvious ding on one of the bottom corners and a small ding on the side of the lid. Right now, my issue with the letter N has gotten worse. It's double registering or never registering most of the time and it's annoying, but I knew this problem would come sooner or later. My product is covered for eligible hardware repairs and service, and covered by AppleCare Protection Plan How do I ensure my keyboard or top case gets replaced through AppleCare? Will the ding be a problem? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jul 2018 09:27 AM PDT I was wondering if there are some really good deals on the 2017 model MBP 15? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Removing sticker residue from iSight camera Posted: 24 Jul 2018 05:28 PM PDT Hey y'all! I'm wondering if anyone has any insight as to how I can remove the residue leftover from the sticker. I've looked this up online but a lot of the solutions (rubbing alcohol, vinegar) worry me. Do y'think I'd be safe to use them on the display like that? I'm just being very cautious here and wanted to reach out to see if anyone else has had the same problem. Appreciate it! [link] [comments]
Anyone with experiencing returning Mac Pro to an Apple store? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 05:05 PM PDT I got the 2017 Mac Pro Saturday starting to really debate if I should just pony up the 400 dollars for the 2018 version. Thanks! [link] [comments]
MacBook Pro 2018 Docking Station Help Posted: 24 Jul 2018 05:35 AM PDT I just recently purchased a new 2018 MacBook Pro 15". This is my first mac, and I'm using it ~75% at a desk and 25% for travel. So when at my desk, I prefer to have it docked and hooked up to my peripherals such as a triple monitor (non-4k!) display, usb keyboard/mouse, misc usb devices, speakers, etc. A setup that powers/charges my MBP would be ideal too. I'm pretty sure the 15" MBP can power 3+ non-4k displays, however, I am having a heck of a time trying to decipher what docking station would work vs what docking station would be overkill. My understanding is that I connect a docking station to my MBP (via thunderbolt 3 connector) and then I'd need thunderbolt 3 to hdmi adapters/cables that connect from my docking station to my monitor (or, if my dock does not have enough ports, one monitor perhaps directly from MBP to monitor). That being said, does anyone have a docking station that they recommend this setup would work for? Since I'm not using 4k+ monitors, do I even need a thunderbolt 3 docking station? Or would a 'USBC' docking station work with normal hdmi outputs? Any help is appreciated! [link] [comments]
Time Machine Backup. Can I swap Time Machine hard drives ? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 12:15 PM PDT Can I remove an internal TM Drive and place it into one of these 2,5" SATA USB enclosures and backup to this external HDD? And can I put back the TM drive into my machine later if I don't want to use the USB enclosure anymore? Afraid that shifting drives might mess up my backups. [link] [comments]

early 2015 12 inch MB battery question Posted: 24 Jul 2018 07:56 AM PDT Hi, as the title indicates I have a 12-inch early 2015 MacBook. Lately I've noticed that there is a "service battery" note by my battery symbol and when I checked the info, it was at cycle count 588 with full charge capacity at 3115 mAh. I was under the impression that this cycle count wasn't that large, am I mistaken? I assume if replacement is needed I would have to take this to the Genius Bar: if I make an appointment, does anyone know how quickly they're able to get this done? I use this for daily work so I would prefer it to be done quicker rather than them holding it for multiple days or whatever. Any thoughts/suggestions would be welcome. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jul 2018 07:17 AM PDT Read this article the other day about the MacBook Pro having some keyboard problems. Just my luck cos I was just about to get one then saw this. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]
Mac keeps asking me to reset iCloud password Posted: 24 Jul 2018 04:04 AM PDT I did reset my password twice to try and resolve this issue but it only resulted in having to login again on my iphone and being asked to reset the password again. P.S: i don't know if this is in any way relevant but I have abstained myself from updating both my iPhone and my Macbook so they're running ios 11.4 and macOS Sierra respectively. [link] [comments] |
