While the macbook is booted into windows via bootcamp the monitor correctly works in 144hz Unfortunately the highest setting that i get to choose on macos is 120hz. Why is that? | Messages - image share menu bug in Monterey - can anyone recreate this? Posted: 21 Mar 2022 12:42 PM PDT I'm currently in Monterey and this happens on my MBP and my employer's alike. I've noticed that if I receive an image in Messages and double-click it, after it opens its own window (why doesn't it just go straight to Preview?!) it offers sharing options or "open in preview." If I use the share dropdown and "add to Photos" the image will add to my Photo library, and then the image window will be IMPOSSIBLE to close without quitting Messages. It acts as though there is a dialog box awaiting input and stealing focus, but there's nothing visible or hidden that I can find. I know that the recently added "download" button next to the images in a message thread can bypass this issue, but I'm still curious why it's happening. It also has happened when I use the Share button and send the image via another Message, so I think it may be related to the Share button overall and not just adding to Photos. [link] [comments] | ||

| Universal Control Use Case -- Please help/advise Posted: 21 Mar 2022 09:25 AM PDT I posted this to r/iPad but apparently the post was considered spam. Couldn't figure out why no one was responding. Anyway, here's what I asked... ***** So, I have a Mini 5. I run a small marketing agency, and have (for the most part) been able to function 99% of the time from my 2017 MBP. I updated both yesterday so I could try out Universal Control. The small size of the Mini, especially when next to my 27 inch monitor, was apparent. I use my MBP in docked mode as the 27 inch screen is almost more than enough space for what I need. Functionally, this feels very much like when I used to have my MBP on a stand so I could use the screen once in a while. My first thought was "oh, maybe I should get an iPad Pro, this is interesting." But then I remembered I barely used my MBP on the stand, which is why I switched to a docked setup (plus it makes my desk cleaner). I'm interested in Universal Control, but I'm struggling to see a use case for it. Maybe the Mini 6, with no bezels, or an Air 5, would feel different? Then again, my MBP is a 13 inch monitor (bigger than both of those devices) and I didn't use its additional screen real estate that often. Just looking for some advice/insight/feedback. | Posted: 21 Mar 2022 07:28 AM PDT Hi all! I was very excited to install the updates and try out Universal Control. Unfortunately I've run into a weird bug: I have an M1 MacBook Air and a brand new iPad Mini. Usually I have my Mac docked with a keyboard and mouse combo from Dell (which I love because it uses a dedicated transmitter rather than Bluetooth and can thus be shared among my Mac, my work PC, and my gaming PC on a switch). I can set up UC fine, but when I pull my cursor over to the edge it stops as soon as it appears on the iPad. Clicking and the keyboard work fine - only movement is impacted. When I try UC with my undocked Mac, it works beautifully when I connect my Dell mouse by bluetooth rather than through the dedicated transmitter, it also doesn't work with the exact same problem. I can't seem to find if other people are having similar problems with peripherals. Does anyone have tips or insight? [link] [comments] |
