Apple website design - add to cart location for product page from Apple vs other brands Posted: 21 Mar 2022 02:46 PM PDT Hi, I was just wondering if someone have an idea why Apple has designed its own product page with the add to cart button on the right side of the screen while other brands featured on Apple site have the button on the left section of the screen ? Is this something related to A/B testing or purchasing efficiency ? Image 1 : https://cln.sh/PTrRJ5 Image 2 : https://cln.sh/bSoLrq Thanks :) [link] [comments]

Is it plausible that the cause of todays outages was a cyber attack? Posted: 21 Mar 2022 03:39 PM PDT This is not to encourage fear mongering, just wondering realistically what a cyber attack on Apple would look like, how it would be handled, and if this could have possibly been one. Also wondering how to protect oneself from the effects of a cyber attack? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Important difference in Studio Display and LG 5K which I haven’t seen addressed… Posted: 20 Mar 2022 10:05 PM PDT I own both displays, now side by side. One major difference to me is that the viewing angle of the LG Ultrafine 5K is super narrow compared to the Studio Display (non-nano texture), which looks virtually the same from any angle. The LG gets really muddy and washed out at a 45 degree angle, especially in a darker room. Not at all a problem with Apple's display. [link] [comments]
PSA: Backup your iTunes purchases Posted: 20 Mar 2022 08:26 PM PDT Non-rental digital purchases such as movies can be marked non-downloadable after a while, which means you cannot re-download them if Apple decides to arbitrarily disable re-downloads for your purchase. This may affect those whom stream on Apple TV only without downloading (e.g. 4K), or those who do not keep movies in their libraries for a prolonged period can permanently lose access to past purchases without recourse (no, Apple Support will not help with this, "beyond their powers" as they say). I've already lost at least 4 movies due to this. [link] [comments]

M1 Pro Vs Max focused on LRC Test Posted: 21 Mar 2022 03:43 PM PDT So this is my first post to the community despite having read many reviews from it. I'm a motorsports photographer covering large events and all the inner workings of it. As much as I try to shoot less I still manage 2200 to 4000 photos per event! I'm working on shooting less 😆 🤦🏻♂️ Anyways, I was using a 2019 iMac 21.5 inch 8gb ram 1 tb fusion drive and was kicking myself everytime I processed event photos. I knew there was something better but couldn't justify buying it. Nearly 4 years later and I finally made the switch! After much review I ended up getting the MBP 16gb 1tb to manage my workflow. The MBP is like nothing I've used before. From initial startup to using LRC to start and complete a project it has worked phenomenally. As we know- it isn't cheap and I wanted to make sure that my investment was well spent knowing this would be my work horse for the next few years. All the reviews I've read or watched expressed how well LRC ran on the new MBP but none really showed what I wanted to see- the load on the ram and system while using LRC. To test this I ran activity monitor under the memory tab while I started and completed a 4000 photo project. All throughout the project light room only used between four and maybe 6 1/2 gigs of RAM but the total memory used would jump up to nearly 16 gigs- causing the memory pressure to spike into the red for at least an hour or two as I worked. Given that I was using such a slow iMac before even if there was a slight degradation in performance while memory pressure was it near 16 GB it was not that noticeable. I only shoot large events about once very month but my concern is that over the few hours of completing these projects and over the course of the next few years that I would put too much stress on this powerful system and have it crash. So, I decided to test a MBP Max and run the same test to gauge the memory pressure. I imported the same 4000 photos, applied the same preset (mix of adjustments) and then with sync enabled adjusted sliders and would flag and unflag images. To no surprise, the MBP hovered near 16gb of Memory used while the Max lingered around 23. Despite these figures the memory pressure graph on the MBP was high and red, while the Max was staying low and green. Ultimately I have now made my decision and will keep the max as my long-term investment. Hope this helps anyone with my same concern. [link] [comments] |
