    What is the cost to replace a Macbook Pro battery at the Apple Store?

    Apple specialist online went through trouble shooting on my MacBook Pro. They believe my Macbook battery is in normal condition and doesn't need to be replaced. The specialist advised me that my experience with the battery draining fast could be due to a software running in the background.

    I suggested two fix possible fix:

    > Factory resetting the macbook pro (my top choice)

    > Replacing the battery (my second choice)

    The specialist suggested I update the operating system. Then, suggested I re-install my operating system or bring the Mac into the genius bar for them to take a closer look at what could be draining the battery.

    Anyways, I look my Macbook Pro (non-M1 chip) and it gives me great durability and it's been the best bang for my bucks! I have no interest in upgrading to the new M1 series because my MacBook is performing at great standards. I haven't spent much to maintain it. I'm willing to spend money to replace the battery if it's cheaper than a new computer.

    That said, how much will a battery replacement be? And is the top-case part of that replacement or not?

    Finally, here are the specs of my unit:

    Problematic Verifying of unknown program

    Hi, I suspect I was targeted with a malicious email a few months ago and have been paranoid about having potentially had spyware/malware on my iphone/macbook. It was an empty email with an attachment of a .hmtl file. Recently I have been getting a popup on my mac saying "verifying navlibx" and "verifying libspeng.so" where the progress bar never moves and it is impossible to close, the x button to cancel is unresponsive. they pop up about once a day and I have to restart my laptop to get rid of them. Does anyone know whether these could be malware, or just a bug, and how to fix it? Thanks

    I am on a 2021 M1 Macbook Pro, and have Norton installed which when I scan my computer says it cannot detect anything suspicious

    iPhone: delete Apple Store app but unable to install it again

    On my iPhone iOS 15.4, I delete the Apple Store app by mistake; it,s the one with the blue shopping bag icon to buy products.

    So when I use the App Store (to buy/download apps) to download the Apple Store app back again, there's the "open" button that's showing, instead of download button or the cloud icon.

    When I click on this "open" button, t takes me to the App Store app so I can't seem to be able to download the Apple Store app again on my iPhone.

    Any tips? Thanks.

    Stopping "Exchange Account Added" notifications

    Hi! My Mac keeps displaying messages that my old university and old Hotmail accounts have been added to Exchange. The exact message says "(Email address) has been added." The options are Not Now or Continue, but despite what I click, the message keeps displaying.

    They keep displaying in the top right corner and no matter what I do, they keep appearing. Any advice on how to get these notifications to stop would be fantastic. Thanks!

    How can my family use my iPad without DnD appearing on all my linked devices?

    I have an iPad, same account as my iPhone. Kids sometimes want to watch stuff on there, or I just dont want my iMessages/texts coming up there while others use it.

    I tried DnD, but that ended up activating the Focus on my iPhone.

    Is there a way to keep the Focus/DnD local to the device?

    How to reduce heat from Fan-less MacBook early 2015 retina 12” screen?

    I noticed that my MacBook is heating more than before. I can feel the heat from the palm rest (below the keyboard and beside the trackpad). And The heat before can be mostly felt in the speakers. I know that these windows bootcamp apps are for the fans but Mine don't have a fan. Can anyone help me decrease the heat from my computer?

    i wiped my ipad 360 with a wet paper towel that had a little too much water on it while it was on . how fucked am i?

    ipad works fine as far as i'm aware, turned it off about 30 minutes afterward for ~ a day (it was turned on once during for an hour because my dad took it).

    is it possible i messed it up? should i send it to service? is it possible the battery can leak or has been fucked up?

    External keyboard and OS upgrade stuck in boot recovery mode

    Hello all, Today my built-in keyboard/trackpad stopped working. After none of the usual steps such as SMC reset worked, I borrowed a magic mouse and keyboard (using it wired). It worked and allowed me to login atleast.

    Was recommended I upgrade to Monterey. However, now the OS upgrade is stuck on the boot recovery page with the only options being update start up disk or choose another (neither work).

    Somehow, can't enter safe or recovery mode either (is it because of external keyboard?).

    Any ideas how I can fix this? Work is piling up!

    I asked this question previously and didn't really get a response. I think I worded it poorly so I'm trying again (I say this as I'm now realizing I screwed up the title).

    I'm thinking of getting an iphone 13 after being an android user since always. I have a folder of basically every photo and video I have ever taken, thousands of jpegs and whatever the default video format is, on my windows pc.

    Previously, when I switched phones it was really only a matter of dragging and dropping a folder into the phone's default photo folder and boom everything is there neatly chronologically organized.

    I understand that iOS isn't as simple as that but is there a relatively easy way to get to this same end?

    Is there a way to view photos quickly in sequence like on PC (straight from finder?)

    Is there a way to navigate photos like on windows?

    Basically I would love it if I could double click a photo from within a folder in finder, have the photo open in a window, but then be able to cycle through any other photos in the folder by using the arrow keys (as on windows preview).

    Currently it seems to only open one photo at a time, and if I want to view as a gallery it seems I need to use 'photos'. Is that the only way or am I missing something?

    I may be using it incorrectly but I find 'photos' a bit annoying to use. I don't want to make albums and stuff. I literally want to cycle through a folder temporarily while I choose which photos to edit elsewhere.

    I'm obviously stuck in my ways after years of workflow on PC but any tips would be welcomed :D

    Okay so, I bought an Adobe CC subscription, and when I go to install it I get this error

    "installation on case-sensitive volumes in snot supported. please choose a different volume for installation"

    My drive is APFS encrypted. I tried to go to FileVault and turned it off to decrypt the drive, but I still get the same error. Is FileVault not the right direction?

    Anything I can do or am I screwed? Do I need to format the computer with a different type of encryption? That's going to be a nightmare

    Hi,

    I used a free proxy server to visit a website that I wasn't able to due to my internet service enabling the safe search mode (in a way you can't disable it). While on the proxy server, I did not login to anything. However, I read that just logging in can cause a lot of damage, for example, the person providing this server could use my internet info. to commit crimes and the government will come searching for me since my address is shown or something.....I'm extremely nervous and can't stop thinking about it. Pls help. What should I do?

    The device I used was IPad Air one (2014-15 version)
