I Hit a Very Important Milestone: 1 Year Straight of Hitting Movement Goal

After seeing the G-Shock Rangeman in a movie, I wanted to get the mimic the features, style while adding more durability than standard Apple Watch.

I work from home at a desk and managed this today.

I hit a three ring streak yesterday for 200 days since august 5. Now I’m making a bunt cake with activity frosting to celebrate. Lol

How accurate is the sleep tracker on Apple Watch? The blue and light blue bands are all over the place. Does light blue mean I was moving? Or is that indicative of light sleep. So confusing. I feel like I got a normal sleep last night but the Apple Watch is showing lots of light blues.

I'm surprised I've not found a single article or question about this, but how long will the Apple Watch last on 10%?

Why did you get an Apple Watch instead of Garmin?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 09:49 AM PST

As I continue back and forth between an AW and a Garmin Venu 2, I posted the opposite question on r/garmin and understandably received a very pro Garmin responses.

So I thought I'd ask this question here on r/AppleWatch.

I'm fully immersed in the Apple ecosystem.

I'm not an elite athlete but run a couple times a week. So metrics are not super important, but nice to have. But I do wish Apple's sleep tracking was more detailed. And yes third-party apps can fill the void, I prefer stock apps.

I like Garmin for their unified app where all the info is centralized and of course longer battery life. Aesthetics is always subjective, and I have to admit preferring round watches. Although the stainless steel AW's are quite nice.

So what are your thoughts? Did you consider Garmin? If so, why did you go AW?

Will Vibrating Machinery Damage My Apple Watch SE?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 09:11 AM PST

In my case, I have a tree that fell in my yard and I need to cut it up using a chainsaw. I'm sure it will be a good physical workout for me, and I'd like to make sure that activity is tracked on my watch.

However, I'm concerned that the extreme, prolonged vibration on my wrist from the chainsaw might damage my watch. I can't find much online about it - closest thing I've found is that strapping an iPhone to a motorcycle might result in damage to the camera because of all the vibration, but I'm asking about my watch which obviously does not have a camera.

I guess one option might be to strap the watch to my ankle while I'm using the chainsaw?

How to get suggested weekly goal

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 08:58 AM PST

I got the S7 a couple months ago. For the first week or two it would suggest a new move goal for me. It never gives me any move suggestions now though. I know it's kind of silly but I would really like to find out what it thinks would be a good move goal for me. Is there some way I can check or get it to start alerting me again?

Anyone have experience with long use in water?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 07:25 AM PST

I know, I know, this has been asked. I am going to be frequenting the water park during the summer with my brother and would like to keep my watch on for cellular and leave my phone in the locker.

My only memory of using a watch with water was my S3 and it ended up having loss of sound quality over a short time period. I am worried I will experience that with this watch, S7. Can anyone tell me if this is going to be an issue? I used the water setting a lot in the past but it only removes so much water.

    Bulk options for black covers?

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 06:59 AM PST

I'm pretty active with my watch (especially bouldering), so I use a cover like the Misxi 2 hard of tempered. I like it, but I'm burning through them faster than Tony burnt through palladium. Does anyone know of bulk options to buy these kinds of cases in black? I don't want rainbow colored cases and tbh, those are the only packs I'm finding you can buy in bulk.

Those of you who use the watch to track your sleep, when do you charge your watch? Also, what app do you all use?

    Spotify not working

    Posted: 21 Feb 2022 03:31 AM PST

Hello! I have a series 6 and for the last two weeks my Spotify has not been working properly. It doesn't show the song that is currently playing, it doesn't show the songs on my playlists, etc. Is anyone else having the same issue?

I don't want to uninstall and reinstall the app because I have over 3k songs downloaded and don't want to wait for all of them to download again 😅.
