Teams sound volume issues on mac Posted: 31 Jan 2022 08:24 AM PST I have lots of issues with Microsoft Teams, most important is that sound volume in headphones is very low even with volume at max. Online help is non-existant, and lots of people are having this problem. I happen to stumble upon a solution : in System Preference-volume, move the balance slightly on one side (right or left, works same)and the sound volume will return to normal. [link] [comments]
Portable apps that can run on mac from windows installation Posted: 31 Jan 2022 06:06 AM PST Soo im in a tricky situation where i had a surface pro but since i have been having issues with it i need to return it. My school offered to lend a macbook in the meantime so i can continue working. Is there a way to install portable apps from a windows pc on a usb so i can run them on the macbook. Btw i cant install them from scratch in the macbook since i dont have the admin role so thats why i want to use the portable version like portableapps.com. Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jan 2022 07:17 AM PST I just signed up for the 12.3 beta release and installed everything. Like most people, I'm stoked about Universal Control because I have a work Macbook Air and my Mac Mini. Everything is going swimmingly in terms of how easy it is to use and seamlessly I can drift from my personal Mac to my business Mac. Then it got me wondering....what would productivity software actually be able to see? Would it be able to see what I have on my personal Mac? I'm assuming it would register the 'lack' of activity on the work Mac but would like look like lack of use, or would it see use 'in other system' or something of that nature? I guess it comes down to how open is Universal Controller to other software. Thoughts? [link] [comments]
Can't add apps in Security and Privacy > Files and Folders Posted: 31 Jan 2022 07:02 AM PST I'm trying to set up tethered shooting on my MacBook Pro (2017). It's worked in the past, using a bit of a kludgy workaround with an app called Fujifilm X-Acquire. Now, though, I can't specify where X-Acquire should save files, because it doesn't have permissions for some reason. Trying to add it in Privacy > Files and Folders, and the +/- buttons are greyed out, even when I unlock the padlock icon, and authenticate. Dragging the app to the list doesn't work either. I'm on a Monterey 12.2 (public beta 21D5025f). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]

coreaudiod grows to over 1GB in course of a day Posted: 31 Jan 2022 05:38 AM PST I have an M1 Mac Mini. I had hoped this would go away with Monterey 12.2, but no such luck. Any suggestions? OS: macOS 12.2 21D49 arm64 Host: Macmini9,1 [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jan 2022 08:11 AM PST Can't even click "more in finder" arrow icon now because it arcs offscreen when dock is on external monitor (one of the LG ultrafine apple displays even). On MBP screen it stays enough onscreen to click, but it's still partially cut off the display which is visually ugly. Not sure why they'd update this to only be worse and in some cases, unusable. Posted: 31 Jan 2022 07:29 AM PST Hello, I just got a used 2017 MacBook Pro and fiddled around with clean installing it. First I booted into recovery and recovery was installing Sierra on it. Then I downloaded Monterey 12.1 and installed it on top... which took a long time. Then I downloaded Monterey 12.2 and put it on a flash drive. I booted from the flash drive and deleted every partition from the SSD. My question now is if it is normal for the installation to take more than one hour in total. Or if it is normal that a clean install takes as long as an upgrade? (Monterey) Did I do something wrong? At the uprade from Sierra to Monterey there was a screen in the last step which was counting down from 30 minutes. At the clean install there was the same screen... [link] [comments] |
