| Posted: 02 Dec 2021 02:53 AM PST I was working with my external drive, sorting out a massive amount of videos, putting them in different folders. Then I accidentally put a parent folder in its subfolder, and whole thing just collapsed and disappeared into thin air D: It is still using the disk space, but I can't find any folder or file even when displaying hidden files. Undo button didn't help, so I've ejected the external drive and restarted the mac for whatever reason. I've tried Time Machine afterward but it wouldn't take me back a notch, so I've installed Disk Drill instead. It found some of the files, but it's a mess with files in different folders now and with different names. Is there any other way to safely recover the files and the previous folder organization? | Keyboard input source menu bar icon in Monterey Posted: 01 Dec 2021 08:02 PM PST Can I get Monterey to display just a small icon in the menu bar for the keyboard input source, without displaying a text description as well? I usually have multiple keyboard input sources installed (e.g. ABC Extended/Chinese/Japanese), and I frequently switch between them. On my old Mac running Big Sur, checking the "Show Input menu in menu bar" option would display a small icon in the menu bar (e.g. [A]/[拼]/[あ]). On my new Mac running Monterey, checking the same option displays not just the icon, but also text describing the input source ([A] ABC – Extended/[あ] Japanese/[拼] Pinyin – Traditional), which takes up a lot more space in the menu bar and also triggers a realignment of all the menu bar icons, which is an annoying visual distraction when frequently switching input sources. | Posted: 02 Dec 2021 01:46 AM PST Title pretty much sums it up, I'm using an Alogic usb bus that has an Ethernet connection, never had an issue with it before so unsure why the Ethernet connection isn't being registered, the screen just shows the spinning globe with my wifi name in the box next to four bars of connection but nothing is happening, going to leave it overnight and see what you guys have said and if it's made any progress in the morning, hope you guys can help! | Posted: 02 Dec 2021 01:06 AM PST Has anyone else experienced this? I can't remember when it began. Maybe it was when I began using the new software update/OS. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but it really sucks. Right now, I'm watching a nearly 1-hour video essay where the guy speaks quite fast and every time there is a little cut, I need to run back to my computer to rewind the vid 5-10 seconds to catch the information I missed. It's also very annoying that I can't listen to a full song without a little skip/cut somewhere in it. I thought maybe it was an issue with my AirPod Pros, but it doesn't happen when paired with my iPhone at all. I also connected my B&O Beoplay H9i's and they get the skip too. There is never more than 1 Bluetooth device connected at a time. I don't believe it has to do with my surroundings either because I live between 3 locations and it's a constant issue. It's definitely something to do with the Mac. I'm not sure if it is MacOS or hardware related though. It feels like it's an issue with the software of the Mac. I've disconnected everything and reconnected it fully hoping it would help, but nope. I've also fully restarted the Mac. Nothing. This does not happen on iPad or iPhone when using either of these audio devices. Does anyone know how to fix this so audio goes back to never skipping or cutting? [link] [comments] | ||

It can be through slack, mail, messenger etc. Today I have to save, locate and then drag-drop the file, or use share and start a new thread, to return it.
