Suspicious Apple Watch Activity Posted: 12 Dec 2021 08:07 PM PST Howdy all - I sadly lost my Apple Watch on a plane this past summer. For the past few months, the last location has shown the highway near my house (which was the last time I interacted with it) with the last update time being the day of my plane ride. Today, seemingly out of nowhere, the FindMy location updated. It was located supposedly near my house. Hoping some of y'all can help me - was this a glitch in the FindMy app? Is it possible that someone stole it, drove by my house, and it briefly connected to my wifi to update location? This seems strange given I have not seen an update in months and it randomly updates months later. Would love any insights or experiences like this, AppleCare was also stumped. [link] [comments]

Workout tracking vs regular active calories tracking Posted: 13 Dec 2021 01:05 PM PST Hi there. Relatively new to the world of apple watches, so apologies if this is a very basic question. I'm a little confused by how the watch tracks active calories. I understand this is an algorithm, but I'm not sure why, if I'm doing some fairly vigorous kettlebell swings for an extended period, the watch registers fairly minimal movement on calories, whereas if I tell it to track a workout (traditional strength training) and do the exact same workout, the active calories counted seem to rise pretty quickly. Am I missing something obvious? My heart rate is similarly elevated in both instances, presumably. [link] [comments]
Just bought an AWS 7 - what are your favorite features Posted: 13 Dec 2021 10:27 AM PST Howdy! Just got myself an Apple Watch. Curious about your favorite feature(s). I mainly bought it to have a watch and sleep/health tracking. [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Dec 2021 03:09 PM PST I bought an Apple Watch Series 5 soon after release. Within its first year it started having a notification/syncing issue. I worked with Apple Support for over a year sending in diagnostics and performing troubleshooting steps. The issue was never resolved. I called last week to check the status and to see if something else could be done to resolve the situation. I was told they would look into it and get back to me. I never received a call back(never do), and when I called back in today I was met with resistance. The rep today said there was nothing I could do but keep waiting. I kinda think I've waited long enough. I started the case in September of 2019 and the product still doesn't work. I started the case when the Watch was still under warranty, so I have no clue why they didn't eventually just offer to warranty replace it. I'm curious how long they would expect someone to wait, and if this happens more often than I know. [link] [comments]

Apple Watch SE - can’t change Privacy settings after changing phone Posted: 13 Dec 2021 10:41 AM PST Hello everyone, I'm struggling with an issue with mine Apple Watch SE. I've been using iPhone SE 2020 with my watch and recently I updated my phone to 12 Pro Max. I unpaired watch with old phone, then connected to new one. Now I have issue with privacy settings. They're greyed out. I can't change anything. Because of that I can use hand wash reminder etc. I know that watch clones settings from iPhone, but I think I've tried everything. So far I did: - reboot of the phone/watch, - unpair and pair again, - checked Screen On Time function (restrictions are off), - turned off Screen On Time, - turning off/on location services both phone/watch, - set watch from a backup and as a new one, - reinstall iOS on phone, backed it up from local backup, iCloud backup and set as new one Frankly, I don't have more ideas what check or change in phone/watch options. I don't have any profiles on phone/watch, devices aren't managed by company… help guys! [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Dec 2021 08:54 AM PST Not sure if someone can help me figure this out. I have a contact that I blocked a few months ago, but on my watch it shows a text and that I loved it from that contact from a couple weeks ago. Also it shows silenced. I'm completely baffled since I haven't texted them since blocking them. Any ideas? I'm new to the Apple Watch universe so any insight would be great. [link] [comments]
Messages and Outlook complications not showing unread messages Posted: 13 Dec 2021 12:36 PM PST I'd love it if my Messages and Outlook inbox complications would show the unread count. But neither of them do. Is there something obvious I am overlooking? I would assume they would both show that, but perhaps that is not the case? Any pointers would be appreciated! How bad can AppleWatch S6 be for swimming? Posted: 13 Dec 2021 03:28 PM PST So, recently I bought an AppleWatch Series 6. I'm pretty happy with it, however I noticed a very sad thing: for swimming training it really sucks. My pool have 12m, today I sway 504m (42 laps). My AppleWatch only counted 78m and MySwimPro, only 90m. I'm pretty disappointed :/ [link] [comments]
Just got my first Apple Watch. Posted: 13 Dec 2021 03:24 PM PST I have an series 7 apple watch gps+cellular waiting at home for me when I get off work. Ive never had one before and im kind of excited. Is there anything I should know about them before I get home to set it up? [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Dec 2021 08:54 AM PST I'm looking to buy one for my girlfriend so she doesn't have to hold her phone while running but I want her to be able to call and text like she can when bringing her phone. I'm assuming that would require me to buy the extra cellular package to do that, or can I do that without upgrading? [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Dec 2021 10:29 AM PST When I end a walking workout from my Apple Watch, do my friends that I share progress with see that I just finished a workout or can they see the location of the walk? [link] [comments]
Apple watch leather/braided band aging. Posted: 13 Dec 2021 10:12 AM PST Hello, I want to ask if owners of braided loops or more preferably the modern buckle leather band in saddlebrown can elaborate how it has been aging. I own one of those new leather bands with the magnets in saddlebrown and it aged terrible. The new iPhone leather cases from apple also age terrible compared to those of the iPhone X,Xs and 11 pro, so maybe the "older" modern buckle leather band will age more like those good iPhone leather cases. Activity rings are real messed up Posted: 13 Dec 2021 01:11 PM PST Tonight I got a Stand Goal completed notification while SITTING at the movies. And then, on my way back home, sitting in the subway, my AW7 congratulated me again for closing my workout ring 🤦♀️ (I know there's a little lag but this was several minutes after I sat down) [link] [comments]
Stop AirPods auto switching to watch? Posted: 13 Dec 2021 01:47 AM PST Does anyone know how to disconnect AirPods from the Apple Watch? Whenever I receive a call, within one ring I can hear the connection switch to my watch (the ringer changes to the FaceTime tone). When I answer, the call inevitably gets switched between watch and phone with AirPods trying to connect to both. This means that the first 3-5 seconds of every call are spent in silence as it sorts itself out, or sometimes doesn't! [link] [comments] |
