| Apple TV 15.2 - Audio Issues - HDMI Switch Posted: 30 Dec 2021 04:42 PM PST I have a Sonos arc, HDFury Arcana, and Roofull HDMI switch. I understand those are all third party, but everything worked flawless until this update. If you go home theater forums, so many people using HDMI switches, Apple TV, and 15.2 update are either losing audio when switching from and back to Apple TV or losing the ability to play Dolby Atmos when switching from apple tv and back. Anyone know what has changed in this update causing so many of us with switches to have audio problems? [link] [comments] | ||

But any time I click the view terms button it takes me to the sign out of iCloud screen. Is there another way to accept it without signing out and back in so I can get back to turning on a show and falling asleep without being interrupted? [link] [comments] | ||

My 4K TV has failed during a software update (non responsive, white light flashing) . The official answer from apple (Hungary) is that they can't do anything (more expensive to service than to buy a new one). Extremely disappointed. What a shame not only because of its high price, but it is also really painful from an environmental and sustainability perspective to throw out a totally well working piece of hardware because of a minor software error. This MUST be fixed on future Apple TVs otherwise I will definitely not buy another one. Unless anybody has any ideas how to fix this? 🙏 [link] [comments] | ||
| Advice needed to improve audio from Apple TV Posted: 30 Dec 2021 12:50 PM PST I recently acquired a secondhand Apple TV (3rd generation) and a decent-sized HDMI monitor. I can stream video from my iPhone to the Apple TV and it looks great, but the audio is awful. Note that this is not my primary screen for entertainment, just another setup so I can watch video in the home office. Nevertheless, I'd really like to have better audio. I'm not looking to shake the walls, but something better than the tinny built-in monitor speaker. I have a Bluetooth speaker, but the Apple TV isn't able to detect it. Judging from the menu dialogue, only Bluetooth keyboards are meant to be connected. There's an Audio In port at the back of the monitor, but no Audio Out or headphone jack, which means I can't use the line-in jack on the Bluetooth speaker. What are my options here, preferably without spending too much? [link] [comments] | ||

Upon trying to use live TV on the CNN Go app, I always get a 10 minute limited preview. I signed in with my provider (Frontier) and now, when I try to watch live TV, I get a "not authorized to view this content" error. Why am I receiving this error? What can I do about it? Captions are generally very good and accurate for movies and tv shows, but terrible for live sports. I would like to turn off captions for apps like ESPN, but keep them on for everything else. I want this process to be as simple and intuitive as possible, with the option to have my video displayed on my tv; which is why I'm wondering if its possible to do this using the Apple TV box. I know I could facetime the nanny, but thats not quite as user friendly as being able to video call to my TV. Additionally I would want my kid to see me on the bigger TV screen vs a phone screen. I've read about apple tv being able to handle home security cameras, so this would seem like an extension of that feature. | Anyone experience this oddity? Posted: 30 Dec 2021 10:51 AM PST Wife sits on couch with her iPhone. She gets up and takes one step. TV blanks for three seconds then returns to normal. This repeatable (I have video). We have an LG LED TV with last gen Apple TV 4K and iPhone 11, all with latest updates. Is this a bug, or potentially some useful feature? For instance can we get Apple TV to pause (instead of LG blanking out) when she gets up to leave the room? Obviously there's some signal-passing going on. Additional notes: the Apple TV is a home hub; the stereo HomePods are unaffected only the TV blanks out. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 30 Dec 2021 10:13 AM PST Hello all, So first off I'm bundled on paramount+ and showtime through my Apple TV+ I went to watch episode seven of discovery today and it instead launched into a 27 minute episode of the ready room with will Wheaton. I backed out and it looks like episode six (which I watched with no issues this past weekend) has also been switched to a 26 minute episode of the ready room.. anyone else notice this issue? I have the entire series I purchased on Apple. My one frustrating is that, unlike Netflix, it doesn't sleep after a period of time.
