| Anyone else having problems with HBOmax lately? Posted: 05 Dec 2021 10:30 PM PST First problem... every time I go to watch something the subtitles are turned on. If there is a trailer before the show, subtitles on. I turn them off during the trailer and then if there is a "Previously on..." before the episode the subtitles turn back on again. So I turn them off again and then when the show itself begins they turn back on again. Super fucking annoying! Second problem... I keep getting signed out and taken to the Sign Up/Restore Purchase screen and I have to login to the website on my laptop to get logged in again. [link] [comments] | ||

Once I changed through shortcuts app that 'play music' and 'set playback destination to tv' i could control the apple tv volume through my iphone again. This is because now it actually streams the media from your phone. It's still stupid that you can't control the volume normally without casting it! [link] [comments] | ||
| Any differences using Netflix 4K Vs 1080p on the LGC1? Posted: 05 Dec 2021 05:04 PM PST Recently got a C1 and my ATV 4K just came in today. My current Netflix plan is basic so I was planning to upgrade to 1080 for better quality. When I was watching blue planet on my C1 on my current plan it still looked great. I then temporarily switched the plan to the 4K and the Dolby Atoms thing popped up in the corner. It looked better but not anything super noticeable to me. I know alot of people will say 4K is worth it but I don't want to waste money when not even all shows/movies are 4K/HDR/Dolby on Netflix. Plus with other services like Prime video, HBO Max, and Disney +, all my time isn't spent on Netflix. Will 1080p be sufficient enough for an C1 + ATV 4K combo, I heard they both upscale content? TL;DR: Is Netflix 4K really that noticeable vs 1080p on the C1/ATV 4K? And is it worth the upgrade? ($18 per month as Netflix plans seem to keep getting more expensive) [link] [comments] | ||

| Netflix App goes dark for 3-5s on Apple TV connected to LG CX Posted: 05 Dec 2021 01:22 PM PST I have the ATV connected via a 2.1 HDMI port using authentic 8K cable to my lovely OLED TV, got 4K SDR as default with dynamic content and frame turned on for ATV, also high speed internet 500mbs. Whilst watching any of the Netflix content type (Dolby, HDR, HD etc) when I go back to the menu option from what is currently playing (e.g to change episode) the screen will turn all black for 3-5 seconds before going back to menu, same will happen as I switch to play any of the content. Sorry if this has been asked already, I am really annoyed so will appreciate your help. P.S those arguing over whether it's worth getting ATV, worth every penny, couldn't tolerate new LG interface and you get gigabit Ethernet, as I am also owner of LG B9. [link] [comments] | ||

It said it was Used-Good and it might come with minor/major cosmetic issues. But it's basically brand new and the "cosmetic issues" are small scratches/smudges on the bottom where I can even see them haha. Besides it not coming in the original box it still has all the accessories and it looks great. Just need to hook it up to the C1 and see if it works fine. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 05 Dec 2021 12:58 PM PST So I got a new 2021 ATV 4K when I was in the UK, I'm currently in the middle east and I'm trying to configure it. I can't get past the configuration stage where it says connect to a wifi network. If I connect to a wifi network, I get the error "No Network Connection - Your wifi isn't connected to the Internet." I even tried my phone's hotspot, same error. If I connect through ethernet, I get a different error that says "The apple activation server is temporarily unavailable" What is this? don't tell me the device is geo locked to the UK? I can control them both with the remote that is built in iOS (so the network must be working), but the Airplay button is not showing up. I can't mirror my screen and I can't Airplay. | Posted: 05 Dec 2021 02:19 PM PST Here's my setup: Samsung UN50NU7100FXZA // UN43NU6900BXZA 1st Gen 4K Apple TV Rocketfish 8K 48gbps hdmi 2.1 Troubleshooting so far: • factory reset tv and Apple TV • enabled HDMI UHD color on all HDMI ports (also tried it without it on) • tested every HDMI port • tried different hdmi cables including the one from my Xbox series X • tried (2) 4K Samsung TVs (listed above) • I plugged in my Xbox series X using the rocketfish hdmi cable and was able to get 4K. When I hit the info button on my TV it reflected 4K as well. On my TV when I hit the info button for the different hdmi sources it says 1920 X 1080 60hz. On my ATV when I go to video and audio, the highest resolution option is 1080p 60hz. It shows lower options but not 4K. I'm banging my head against the wall. Someone help :'( [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 05 Dec 2021 09:18 AM PST I am having issues streaming downloaded content from iPad/iPhone to AppleTV. We have an off grid cabin in the middle of nowhere. Hughesnet satellite, which is terrible (slow speeds, latency >600ms). Streaming isn't really an option, so we download content to play to the AppleTV. I have a Unifi network set up, can ping the AppleTV from various devices consistently <5ms. There is nothing anywhere near the cabin for >10 miles in any direction, so no interference. I can watch a show downloaded from Netflix/HBOMax/PrimeVideo etc on the ipad without issue. If I try to connect to Airplay and stream to the AppleTV, it does not work. Either get the spinning wheel, or a message that it cannot be played and an offer to stream instead. Occasionally some things will work, but with frequent buffering and a very grainy picture. If I unplug the Hughesnet connection, the content will still not play to the AppleTV (but will still play on the iPad). It seems like the apps are looking for internet when connected to a wifi network to airplay, but if totally disconnected (as they would be on an airplane, etc) they play fine. Anyone have a workaround for getting airplay to work in this situation? [link] [comments] | ||
