| I created a skip 30 seconds button for my AppleTV Posted: 12 Nov 2021 12:17 PM PST Pro tip I just figured out. You can use the Shortcuts app to make a button on your Home Screen to zap through ads. Instructions: 1. Open the shortcuts app. Click the + in the top right to create a new shortcut.
You should now have a working button on your Home Screen that's a one hit ad zapper. No more fiddling with dicky remote. [link] [comments] | ||

Posted: 13 Nov 2021 04:53 AM PST I have the Apple TV+ streaming box that connects to your television but I can't seem to find a Apple Television. I thought Apple would have a television were you can say, "Hey Siri" turn on the Television, change to channel 7, change to source to DVD player, etc etc. I have done a lot of research into Televisions and I want to buy a smart tv that has apple functions included but and all I find is Apple AirPlay 2. I don't need to transfer anything from my phone, I just need a remote less television that I can tell what to do. But It seems like every Television in Australia has Alexa and Hey Google built with those commands, Hey Google turn in TV, Hey Alexia change channels. Has anyone else seen one or own one? But all the links I've found have been broken (or require me to put in my credit card info) so I don't want to risk doing that or paying for a link that no longer works. Posted: 12 Nov 2021 09:43 AM PST I have an AppleTV and lots of times my kids want to watch something, so I choose my AppleTV device from my phone and play their movie. If I am scrolling through reddit, their video will suddenly stop and it will begin playing the reddit video. Same goes for when I'm looking through my photos app. Is there a way to get the AppleTv to work like chromecast so I can just cast something to the TV and let that remain playing despite what else I might be looking at on my phone? Apple TV was restored to factory settings as well. Both are on the same Wifi network. My phone won't show the Apple TV as an option when I try to cast something. Nothing other than "iPhone" shows up when I hit the little tv symbol. However, I was able to set up the Apple TV remote just fine on my phone, so it does detect it in some way.
