What are some good apps for writing on PDF files with the Apple Pencil? Posted: 16 Jan 2018 01:31 PM PST I like using iBooks for normal reading because it syncs between devices so easily. However, annotating with an Apple Pencil is really annoying because when the pencil is active it does not ignore touches from fingers, making it impossible to navigate with the annotation pane. I don't want to just import the PDFs into Good Notes or another note taking app because I want the annotations available across my Mac and iPad, and would much prefer to be able to just access PDF files in iCloud. Any recommendations? [link] [comments]

Posted: 16 Jan 2018 04:36 AM PST I'm at a time now where I have significant tasks an iPad will be useful for, relating to my work. But nothing I can't do already in a pinch with my iPhone or MacBook Pro instead, if i had to. So with that, I can already tell I won't be disappointed in buying an iPad pro today, because i do have use for it. However the fact that a new significantly redesigned iPad may be coming sometime this year has given me a few minor things to think about. My question to discuss is: If you were also someone who had the current uses for an iPad, and were thinking about purchasing one around this time, how would you feel about it, and would you consider waiting for a new model, as relevant in your decision? Charged iPad for first time in several months - issues w/ syncing Posted: 16 Jan 2018 05:37 AM PST Hi everyone! So I was an idiot and hadn't used or charged my iPad Air 2 since late October and decided to finally charge it yesterday. I got everything up and running with no issue, however, as expected, it's taking an extremely long time for my messages to sync up from my iPhone, thus rendering me unable to use messaging for the time being. Do you know if there's any way that I can expedite or circumvent this process so that I can message from the iPad again? Everything else works just fine and needless to say, I learned my lesson about consistently charging it and keeping it running even if my usage is low. EDIT: I just realized that I got a new iPhone in the meantime, and had not enabled Message forwarding on the new device, so this was likely why it was stalling. I'll update tonight when I get home and can check it out. [link] [comments]
IPAD Air 2 with Broken screen + iCloud locked IPAD Air 2 = functioning IPad? Posted: 16 Jan 2018 01:41 PM PST I have an IPad Air 2 that is fully function but has a non functional LED. Would it be possible for me to buy a cheap iCloud locked iPad and take out the LCD to use on the Working but cracked iPad Air 2? [link] [comments]
Quick charging: iPad 9.7" 2017 (Not Pro) Posted: 16 Jan 2018 01:27 PM PST For my iPhone, I use a 10W charger instead of the original 5W charger, and the charging time decreases significantly. I know there's quick charging for iPad Pro, and it's been covered extensively on the internet. But what about for the iPad (not Pro) 2017? I know there's an upper limit to the wattage that the iPad can use. Can someone fill me in on the upper limit for the iPad (not Pro) 2017? [link] [comments]

No Apple Pencil Pages iPad Support? Posted: 16 Jan 2018 11:44 AM PST So, I cannot use my Apple Pencil to annotate a Pages document, but I can use my Apple Pencil to annotate a Word document? I need to get over this "try to use Apple iWork products when I can" even when it's to my detriment. Ugh. [link] [comments]
Anyway to boost performance on ipad pro? Posted: 16 Jan 2018 04:11 AM PST Have the newest one but not sure how much faster it is compared to iphone 7+ or 8+ or even the x Also is there any way to improve like high performance mode for ipad pro power for running apps and general use? Ur thoughts? [link] [comments]
Academic researcher of r/ipad, share with us your workflow Posted: 16 Jan 2018 01:09 AM PST Do you use EverNote premium service? How do you annotate your pdf? How do you organize the articles and do you use a reference manager? Ms word or Scrivener? I am finding the most effective way to make use of the Ipad Pro with Apple Pencil. I would like to annotate my pdf, tag it, and have the bibliography and citation ready for me. Please share with me your workflow, thank you in advanced. [link] [comments]
Is an iPad Air 1 gen a good choice for my needs? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 03:33 PM PST Basically I require a reliable tablet. After switching most my devices to apple I have grown to appreciate the reliability of the brand. I have seen an iPad Air in ebay for a reasonable price and I am wondering if it will be sufficient for my needs:
Im guessing it can do all this but what I am wondering is will the device continue to receive and handle updates in 2-3 years? [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Jan 2018 06:04 PM PST So I just moved from my 4-year-old Air 2 to a 2017 Pro 12.9, and it is big. Bigger than I expected. Has anyone else found it uncomfortably large? Will that always be the case? Is this something I should stick with and will end up thinking of it in the future? Part of it may be acclimating to the Smart Keyboard. I think the experience is improving as I learn to maneuver it without knocking the pieces apart. [link] [comments]
Does anyone use the USB to lightning adapter for wired keyboards? Posted: 15 Jan 2018 02:13 PM PST I'm thinking of ditching my Bluetooth keyboard for the iPad Air for a usb keyboard and read that by using the USB to lightning cord, you can plug in one to your iPad. To those that use this, is this a good option? Do the keys all respond properly? Or should I just buy a MFI Smart keyboard? [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Jan 2018 06:08 PM PST I recently found my iPad I lost for 2 years and now it will not turn on.also the place where it was did no damage to the iPad itself.also I have had it charging for a hour and have also tried holding down the two buttons for 10 secs but still didn't turn on.
