Why do you wear your AppleWatch over night? Posted: 30 Sep 2021 12:11 PM PDT What benefits does wearing it over night have? What insights do you gain? I never wore my old smartwatch overnight as it did not have any sensors but I think with the sensors the AppleWatch has you could make some insights and I wanted to hear how others utilise their AppleWatches as I start out with my new one. Apple watch 6 iphone 13 and earpods not working together as they used to Posted: 01 Oct 2021 06:45 AM PDT So I used to have an Iphone 8 and I used it with my apple watch 6 and earpods. When I got called on my Iphone I could see it on my watch with the green call symbol with my earpods logo on it. It would instantly direct my call trough my earpods perfectly. This day I have an iphone 13 instead.. also updated the watch to ios 8 and now everytime I got a call I see it also on my watch but now instead the green pick up logo it would just show a phone, no earpod logo in it and if I pick up the call sometimes it direct the sounds to my phone speakers, sometimes to my watch speaker but almost never to my earpods. Even if I was listening to my podcast on my watch or phone trough the earpods.. So basicly everytime I got a call and pick it up on the watch its a surprise where the audio will be.. I can if its not instantly trough the earpods change it manually to the earpods, but its a bit annoying as it used to work perfectly together. I reconnected my earpods and even reinstalled my watch again and stil have this issue. Contacted apple helpdesk and they couldnt help me as they have no clue whats going on atm.. I am just curious if more people have this issue. Sorry for the bad english, its not my motherlanguage. [link] [comments]
Watch won’t switch cellular carrier Posted: 01 Oct 2021 04:40 AM PDT Help: I moved my service from ATT to Visible and upgraded from iPhone X to iPhone 13 Pro. My Series 4 Nike watch will not switch carriers. The Visible plan is the only one showing under the cellular tab in the watch app on my phone but the about section shows "ATT 17.5" as the carrier in the watch and in the app. Have reset a dozen times and tried changing everything I can think of to update it. Any ideas? [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Sep 2021 10:16 PM PDT Hi, I bought an Apple Watch SE with a navy blue sport band, directly from Apple just a month ago and have started noticing that one of the bands doesn't lock into place. Apparently this is a common problem and I've tried doing some quick fixes people recommended but nothing's worked. Just wanted to ask if anyone has recommendations or if I should just go to Apple and see what they say? [link] [comments]
Thinking about switching from Fitbit, worried about battery life Posted: 30 Sep 2021 05:10 PM PDT Title says it all. Fitbit user for 5 or so years, generally happy until recently. The charge 5 just came out and I was interested because of the better screen. But their software is giving me pause. They are trying to force users into always allowing all of their GPS data, you get a warning, all day long to turn on location services, mine is set to never, get harassed all day. Primary function is tracking calories burned and sleep time. That second one is my concern. Currently the Apple Watch battery life is ~18 hours, vs. the 4-5 days I can get out of a Fitbit. Across the different models available (no cellular as I always carry iPhone) what does the battery life REALLY look like? How long does it take to recharge? [link] [comments]
With WatchOS 8 allowing you to unlock cars, hotels, etc. could it also work on keyfobs? Posted: 30 Sep 2021 05:12 PM PDT My apartment uses a keyfob to enter/exit different areas of the building. Since WatchOS 8 lets you unlock cars and other things now, could it also be used in place of a key fob or is the tech too different? [link] [comments]

Active Calories for workouts are much lower after resetting your watch Posted: 01 Oct 2021 03:57 AM PDT I got an iPhone 13 Pro last week and wanted to set it up as new, which meant resetting my watch. I've noticed since then that all of my workouts seem to log far fewer Active Calories. As an example: I'll do a 30 minute weights session tracked as Functional Strength training. This will log 170-180 Active Calories, whereas a similar workout of the same duration and similar average heart rate used to be somewhere around 250-260 Active Calories — maybe even approaching 300 calories if I really pushed myself. Likewise a ~7km Outdoor Walk would previously log around 420 Active Calories whereas now it'll be somewhere around 380 Active Calories. Less significant but the drop is consistent. I am a little bit obsessive and I go for the exact same 7km walk every morning at the exact same time. Nothing has changed but I'm seeing a definite reduction in the Active Calories being tracked. I have a 116 week Perfect Week streak and previously I'd never reset my watch, so I guess I've lost 800+ days of calibration, but I'm finding it pretty demotivating and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like that, and whether anybody has any tips or advice? I found a few previous threads where others have experienced something similar but there wasn't much given in the way of advice so I'm not super hopeful. FWIW, I have confirmed my personal health details are correct (ie gender, height and weight) and I've calibrated my watch per Apple's recommendation (20 minute outdoor walk). In previous threads people have mentioned that calories burned for the same workout is bound to drop as physical fitness improves but I don't think that's what's happening here. I have lost a little weight but nothing significant (only 1-2kg), and definitely nothing significant in the last week or so. Likewise my average heart rate during a training session is still more-or-less the same. And the most tell-tale sign is that I can pinpoint the day things changed by looking back through my Workout history. The drop in Active Calories definitely started from my first workout after I upgraded my phone and reset my watch. The most frustrating thing is my Monthly Challenge this month is all about Active Calories and I think I'm really going to struggle to hit 50k Active Calories for the month. I know I shouldn't care about that but I do. I like my little trophies. Please no comments about not letting my watch rule my life :) [link] [comments]
