The host said to use my phone to control the TV's, but none of the apps I'm downloading are working since the S8 apparently doesn't have an IR blaster. I've looked into SurfShark and NordVPN but neither of those allow you to change the location of the VPN servers used for Smart DNS devices. Anyone have any insight into this? I've been having issues with volume control lag on the new remote. On two separate Apple TV setups (1st & 2nd Gen 4k), the remote will lag and become sticky when controlling volume via HDMI-CEC. | AirPods Pro/Max and Apple TV spatial audio Posted: 11 Oct 2021 09:54 PM PDT When watching D+ with my AirPods Pro/Max, I listen in spatial audio but it appears that instead of Dolby Atmos, it uses 5.1. There has been moments where it does register as Dolby Atmos and shows a substantial improvement over normal surround. Is there a way to activate Atmos forcibly? | Posted: 11 Oct 2021 05:33 PM PDT Interesting little quirk using ATV+ on the new ATV 4K. When I am watching a show and pause it long enough for the screen saver to kick in, or exit a show and come back to it later, there is about a 3 second delay before the sound will start playing again. In other words, the video plays immediately, but without any sound, then the sound kicks in about 3-4 seconds later. The video and audio are in perfect sync once the sound starts, but it's quite annoying as it causes me to miss some dialogue. Doesn't happen on Netflix or Youtube TV. Only happens on ATV+. Any ideas? I purchased a new ATV 4k along with my LG C1 tv a few months back, and noticed maybe a month and a half ago some new behavior. This doesn't happen all the time. I have it connected to Ethernet but every day when I first turn it on every apps says no connection. When I go to settings it say "connected". I have go in and out of connectivity settings several times or reset before it works. Works great through our chromecast with built-in apple tv+ app! However, now we want to share her subscription with our daughters.....who have iPhones and their own apple IDs. But my wife doesn't have any apple devices, and we can't figure out how to add our daughters to her account. My wife also has NO other apple services like itunes or apple music or anything. Help!! | First time using app, costs $$? Posted: 11 Oct 2021 08:14 PM PDT Hello! We are using the free trial for the apple tv app on our tv, and we are kinda confused. Why are some shows like $3 an episode ? If we keep it past the free week, why are we gonna pay $6 a month for apple tv, then additional $$ on top of that? And that $$ is for only 1 episode?! Not the whole season? Doesnt really seem worth it, like hidden fees on top of fees. Is this worth keeping? Edit: thank you everyone. I see know its just the plus stuff thats included. | Issues with HDR and Dolby Atmos Posted: 11 Oct 2021 07:42 AM PDT I have the following setup:
I have two problems: 1) If I use 4K HDR mode, colours in the menu etc look washed out and I'm not convinced they're any better when playing HDR10 content. Someone suggested better HDMI cables might be needed, though the "check HDMI connection" option suggests no problems. 2) Dolby Atmos music sounds weird, and normal stereo music, with the receiver on Atmos mode upmixing to Atmos sounds even weirder. My test cases are:
