IOS 15 Is More Like A Beta Than Public Release

    Posted: 11 Oct 2021 07:03 PM PDT

I have to say IOS 15 is riddled with bugs. This is more of a beta release than a final public release. In my opinion this is by far the worst final public release in recent years. I don't expect them to catch everything. No one is perfect as they say, but this is nuts. Someone reports something they have found broken on IOS 15 almost on the daily.

    Thoughts?

Safari for iOS 15 needs a built in dark mode

    Posted: 11 Oct 2021 03:52 PM PDT

I'm amazed Apple didn't think of embedding a dark mode function into Safari. The number of times I've half woken up in the middle of the night to check something on safari to be stung by a bright white light!!! I know there are extensions out there but it just seems logical to me that it should be built into safari as a basic feature.

[help] Everything automatically casts to Air Play on iOS 15

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 05:46 AM PDT

If I'm currently watching a video that's casted to my Apple TV, any video I load on any other app takes over and casts that. I never had this issue before as I scroll on Reddit while watching movies or sports from my phone.

Just got my first iPhone, how can I make it so that the screen doesn't open every time I get a notification?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 05:29 AM PDT

Title, help would be really appreciated. Thanks! :)

P.S. Without disabling the Lock Screen alerts, if possible. I want to still be able to see the notifications there.

Can't recall or remember name of an old Cloud Photo Storage App

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 05:04 AM PDT

For the life of me I cannot remember an app that acted as a cloud photo storage back around 2018? I've looked through my recent apps on my two apple IDs and can't seem to find the name. It had a white app with a black up arrow "^" like shape on it, slightly similar to the Google Drive app but with no bottom line. I vaguely remember red lines or blue lines incoperated into it. Sorry if I can't provide much more information, I don't have any important photos on it, just old pictures I'd love to keep. Thanks if you have any suggestions!

Looks like another bug fix for iOS 15 is out ...

    Posted: 11 Oct 2021 09:48 AM PDT

My Iphone has something that blocks every ads and some apps!

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 08:04 AM PDT

My iPhone is IOS 13.5 and there is something that blocks the advertisement. Now I can't watch in-game ads to receive rewards ( tapping on the ads but nothing appears ). I feel this pretty comfortable at first, but now when I log out my Messenger, I cant login again (It says unable to solve this problem). And when I search people says that there is an app or firewall that is blocking things. I cant find out what is it, please help!

TIL: you can drag the scroll bar for fast scrolling

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 07:53 AM PDT

I'm not allowed to include a video of iOS in action so you're just going to have to use your imagination:

In any app and has scrollable content (e.g. a news app, mail, messages), move the page a little so the scrollbar appears, long press the scrollbar and drag.

    Live and learn.

How many faces does portrait mode detect?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 07:30 AM PDT

On my iPhone 11 it seems to only detect one person in portrait mode, my girlfriends iPhone 12 pro it detects both of us. I assume this is a processor limitation. Which phones detect more than one person and how man is the maximum? Can't find this information anvwhere.

    Wi-Fi disconnects

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 07:30 AM PDT

    Hi,

We have a really weird issue on our local network at home. Almost all the Apple devices will after a while randomly disconnect from the network. They will try and rejoin, but it will be stuck in an infinite loop. The only ways I've found to fix it are to reset network settings or turn off private address in the individual network settings on each phone. I was wondering if there was any solution that would resolve this problem? I was thinking maybe it could be an iOS bug or down to my router's firmware? All devices are running iOS 15 or later.

iPhone issues for a new comer

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 01:02 AM PDT

Hi all, as the title suggests, I am currently having some issues and concerns as someone who has recently switched to the new iPhone. I have used Android for the last 10 years so this is all pretty new to me and I understand, there's a lot of things to get used to. I had some questions for those who have also come from using Android as well as those who have used iPhones quite a bit:

    1. My phone seems to be restarting randomly at night? It asks me to put in a passcode to unlock the phone when I wake up, is this normal?
    2. The screen just does not feel as good as my old Samsung, sometimes when I try to click an app it will register the touch but not open it --> after trying different things, I think the screen thinks I am swiping, so the app does become shaded but it isn't registered as a touch, but rather a short swipe and thus the app does not open. Do others have a similar experience and is this something I will just get used to, perhaps with usage?
    3. While the camera is absolutely amazing, I took a video at home, under lights and it was frankly horrendous, it reminded me of my old iPhone's camera. It was blurry and took me back 5-10 years, I couldn't believe it. Similarly, when I take a photo while recording, the image quality is just as poor as the video quality. However, when I went out during the day and took some videos outside, it looked beautiful and crisp. Is there something I am missing here?

Lost all private/incognito Safari tabs when updating to iOS 15.0.2 from 15.0.1.

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 06:31 AM PDT

Just wanted to let people know I experienced this. I had a bunch of tabs open and now they were wiped clean. I updated last night and now I checked and they're all gone. Unsure if anyone else experienced it but just wanted to alert others of my experience in case they wanted to update. In no way am I saying don't update, though. I assume there's no way of restoring or setting this right as well, considering that's the point of incognito mode.

Show just the photos/Videos taken in the Camera app?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 06:24 AM PDT

    Hello,
I've recently switched from android to iOS and so far I'm loving it, but one thing i liked about android, is that all photos taken in the camera app are in a seperate album to all the others from Twitter, Reddit and etc..
I now want to transfer only the photos taken with my camera to a PC, but i dont know how to filter out the images saved from Reddit and such.

Is there a way to do that?

HELP! Getting loads of bugs after updating to iOS 15

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 06:15 AM PDT

Freaking regretting updating my iphone 7 to iOS 15. The major one is that my mic & speaker stopped working. For mic it's completely gone; I cannot record voicenote, speak in calls, shazam a song etc. For speakers it's only stopped working for calls, be it normal speaker or loud speaker. However it works fine on Spotify, Youtube, Instagram etc. I had to restart my phone whenever I wanna make/take a call, but only then it works temporarily before it went shit again. I really dunno what's going on here. This afternoon i found out that my phone wont detect my cable earphone, even though the phone is discoverable when i plugged in my macbook & it was charging fine. I even swapped it with my friend's earphone and still didn't work. Now i just discovered that i cannot record videos in both camera app & instagram app. It would basically freeze whenever i try.

Does anyone experiencing this as well? Is this a ploy by apple to get me buy a new iphone?!

App (or way) to only see pictures taken with your iPhone

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 05:08 AM PDT

    Hello,

Unfortunately, I am sure I am not the first one to post about this, but after (finally) switching to an iPhone recently (from Android), I cannot believe that I haven't found a way (in 'Photos') or an app to allow me to see only photos taken with my iPhone. To show someone a picture I took of something, I have to scroll through hundreds of pics shared with me, e.g. via WhatsApp. Is there really not a way or an app to help display only pictures taken with your actual device (i.e. 'camera roll')? Mind boggling.

    Thank you.

    Edit: running iOS 15.0.1

Focus mode activates when both requirements are met?

    Posted: 12 Oct 2021 12:46 AM PDT

For as far as I understand and have been able to test, focus modes will activate when meeting only one of the set up schedules or automations.

Say that I'm working from home, I want my work focus mode to be on, and when I leave with the car to the grocery store, I want it to automatically switch to driving focus because it notices I'm driving.

Right now my work focus has two automations to make this happen:

    1. Activate from 0900 to 1700 (schedule)
    2. Activate when home (location)

However, when I leave the location, it stays active because it meets the schedule automation. I don't want a OR setup, I want an AND setup. So if one of them doesn't meet the requirement (so when I leave the house) it needs to turn off.

    Thanks in advance!

Bluetooth Calls on iPhone 13 Pro Sound Poor After A Few Minutes

    Posted: 11 Oct 2021 08:33 PM PDT

Ever since I began using the new iPhone 13 Pro, any type of Bluetooth calls (cellular, FaceTime Audio, Discord, anything) to my Xbox Wireless Headset sound extremely poor after using for 5-10 minutes.

The call goes from good quality to dark robotic-sounding, muffled and difficult to understand. It happens sort of at random, and occasionally improves at certain points and goes back to being poor.

The only current "remedy" I've found is switching the call to speaker or phone and immediately back, and it "resets" the process and starts the quality back to good again and eventually diminish into the quality I've described.

This only started occurring when I moved to my new iPhone 13 Pro on T-Mobile. I didn't have this issue with the Bluetooth headset on my iPhone X. I also just tested FaceTime Audio on my iPad Air (2020, with latest update) using the headset and do not experience these issues I'm having on my 13 Pro (also running the latest software).

I've tried resetting the Xbox Wireless Headset, removing it on Bluetooth and reconnecting, etc. to no avail. I'm guessing it has to do with my phone rather than the headset, since it worked fine with my iPhone X and works fine with my iPad Air fine too.

Are these Bluetooth call issues a known issue? Or any suggested steps to fix these problems (that doesn't involve a reset)?

    Thanks in advance.
