- I have a usb c hub for my 2019 MacBook air. I can charge the MacBook through the hub, so it seems to be working, but when I plug something into the hub, it is not detected by the MacBook. The MacBook seems to recognise the hub in System Information. Any idea why it's not recognising any usb devices?

However I wasn't sure if a product like this_1.0%20Datasheet.pdf) can be used with MacOS, given that it only has driver support for Windows based devices. To reiterate: even if I assume that plug-n-play feature will kick-in once I plug in a Bluetooth adapter - how do I know for certain (or ensure) that all my Bluetooth connections are routed via adapter and not internally via Mac? The only problem is that I am not a fan of iPhones. What is the experience like using android with a Macbook? Can you sync everything properly without a bunch of 3rd party software? | Macbook pro retina 2012 with dead screen Posted: 11 Oct 2021 11:51 PM PDT i have a 2012 MBP which unfortunately has a dead screen, when i took it to apple they told me that they couldn't fix the display because it was too old, but the device also wont connect to an external monitor via HDMI, the apple store said the only way to get my data off was to buy a new mac. Anyone know how i can salvage the data off my device? I don't use apple for computers anymore so don't have any idea how to get all my photos and documents off this. Thanks. [link] [comments]  | ||

For whatever I do, it can get very hot and sometimes feel sluggish even though I do basic tasks and studying. When I am on video calls, it gets extremely hot for some reason. I think Macs just get hot because of the compact size. I've been hearing a ton of positive reviews about the M1's and am really curious if it's worth the upgrade. Posted: 11 Oct 2021 01:31 PM PDT I think this is an issue that happens to pretty much all M1 Macs (I've read it only happens when 3rd party external monitors are connected), but I think updating to Big Sur 11.6 has finally fixed this issue, well, at least for me. It used to happen with me 1-3 times daily, but since updating to 11.6, I haven't had the issue yet. Crossing my fingers that the "Purple/Pink Screen (freezes, pink screen then restarts)" is gone for good. Would love to hear others' thoughts. My specs:

I am not sure what to do. It was just clean water and spilled only on the keyboard. I am really paranoid due to my test tomorrow and not sure what to do. | Posted: 11 Oct 2021 12:33 PM PDT I decided I'm going to upgrade my old windows laptop to a Macbook and I just can't seem to choose between the Air and the Pro. I want to do some IOS app development - so I need to be able to smootly run virtual machines + the code editor + browser tabs. I also may do some video editing in Davinci Resolve with a lot of effects and transitions involved, not just your typical "holidays videos". I can't really spend a fortune on the computer so I would either buy the 16gb 512 gb Air or the 16gb 256gb Pro if it would be necessary. I also don't really cary about the graphics card differences or the touchbar, I'm mainly concerned about if the Air cooling systems and if it would be sufficient for my needs. PS: I heard about the M2 leaks, is it worth to wait? (If the price doesn't differ too much) PSS: sorry for not using the monthly megathread, but I noticed noone really answers there.. | Macbook RAM running at 667MHz instead of advertised 800MHz Posted: 11 Oct 2021 04:12 PM PDT I recently purchased a single stick 2GB DDR2 800MHz laptop RAM to put into my Mid 2009 Macbook which was previously running 2X 1GB DDR2 800MHz for a total of 2GB of 800MHz RAM. However upon installing the new stick of RAM into my Macbook (now has 1X 1GB 800MHz and 1X 2GB 800MHz for a total of 3GB of total RAM) I noticed that the RAM speed has dropped to 667MHz. Is this a problem with the RAM stick I installed? The stickers on both the RAM sticks installed both show 800MHz yet the speed has reduced to 667MHz. Also as I only intend to use this old machine for web browsing, is the drop in speed even perceivable in daily browsing use?
