Is there really no way to download full resolution photos from icloud onto your phone? Posted: 11 Oct 2021 04:54 PM PDT Is there not a way (from my phone) to download the full resolution photo from a shared album in icloud photos? I honestly don't think there is, but I would love to be wrong. My wife took a picture yesterday of one of my kids. I really liked it, and wanted to use it as a wallpaper. She put it into a shared album that we have for pictures of our kids, and I downloaded it from there. I cropped in a little bit while setting the wallpaper, and noticed it was more blurry that I thought it should be, so I checked the photo info and it had only downloaded a 3mp version that was 860KB. The original on my wife's phone was 12mp and 4.1MB I cannot for the life of me figure out how to download the full resolution version. She could airdrop it to me, but why is that necessary? What if I was out of town? She has to email it? That removes almost all of the convenience of using a shared album in the first place. After some googling it seems like I can go to icloud.com from a mac and download a zip file of the full resolution version, but again... what the hell? Why is that necessary? Can there not just be a little option drop down when I save the photo asking if I want the full resolution one? Also, I do have the "download and keep originals" setting turned on, that isn't the issue. Mods, if this is actually a really easy thing to do, I apologize, feel free to remove the post. But I spent that last hour googling this and haven't found anything. I also found several threads from the past few years on apple's support website where others are having the same issue, and none of them were ever resolved https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252113907 [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Oct 2021 07:39 AM PDT So I've had my iPhone 13 since launch day. Battery was fantastic. Lasted all day with about half left over. But since about a week ago it has lasted about 4 hours. I've used it 2 and a half hours today and its at 30%. How?! Hulu takes the greatest majority of battery, 28%. But I've been listening to music with no other apps open for 15 minutes and am down 10%. Apple support ran diagnostics and says my battery is healthy. Anyone having a similar issue? [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Oct 2021 05:11 AM PDT My phone was sitting in front of me locked, screen didn't light up or anything and I didn't hear anything from the call. My cousin then tells me he was looking at my ceiling and sent me a screenshot proving that I did indeed call him, although both my FaceTime and phone recent calls didn't show that I called him at all. I'm wondering if this is a known issue, because this is a big one, and I can't quite explain what happened. Please let me know. I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max updated to the very latest iOS. Update: the call went out from my iPad not my iPhone, however the ipad was in the living room and no one was around it or had touched it since the day before. So the issue is still as described. Posted: 11 Oct 2021 06:54 AM PDT Hi just got a Samsung M5 27" smart monitor and tried to mirror my MBA (separate display) using Airplay but the resolution is sooooo low. Is there any way to make its quality higher? When I switch to the netflix app on the smart monitor itself, it's very clear but when I switch back to airplay and mirror my mac screen, the quality is so bad. Please help! I bought this monitor for the sole purpose of studying with a clearer and bigger screen. It would be a pain in the ass to have it returned if there's a way to have the mirrored screen have a better quality☹️ [link] [comments]
Is my iPhone X battery original? Posted: 11 Oct 2021 05:56 AM PDT Just got my iPhone X's original battery replaced cause it got swollen. The person who replaced it said that the one he's putting in my phone is original too but I noticed one difference, it had the Apple logo on it. My original one didn't have the Apple logo on it. When I asked him about it he said that newer versions decided put the logo on their batteries. This is where I got a little suspicious and decided to make this post. Help would be appreciated, thank you [link] [comments]
iOS 15 "trackpad mode" text selection bug Posted: 11 Oct 2021 05:06 AM PDT Hello, I faced an unexpected behavior while selecting text by using the "trackpad mode" of the iOS 15 keyboard (iPhone 13 Pro). I provide a video showing the problem in detail, since it is quite hard to explain. My goal here is to select the text from "Ut enim…" to "… consequatur.". I purposely select more text, by highlighting the next sentence too (from "Duis" to "pariatur."). Once I figure out the "mistake", I would like to deselect the excessive text by going backwards on the trackpad. Sadly, in doing so, the gesture acts on the cursor at the beginning of the highlighted text ("Ut enim", the beginning of the first sentence), and it causes to select all the text up to the very top! Similarly, once I try to change direction again by going "downwards", the second cursor moves again and it selects all the text until the very bottom! It is very frustrating, since it was one of my old iPhone's most beloved features! Thank you [link] [comments] |
