- Apple Thunderbolt display connects to Mac Pro when already booted, but stays blank if connected on start up. Camera and microphone also aren't connected.

I'm using a IPhone 7plus and I've heard this is a common reoccurring problem. Was trying to see if anyone knows if I bought an Apple TV 4K if I could do an HDMI splitter to input RCA audio (with a converter) to the Apple TV 4K and then airplay to HomePod minis. | External Hard Drive no longer mounting Posted: 07 Aug 2021 08:20 PM PDT A couple of weeks ago I posted about the damaged display on my 2015 MBP. I wound up upgrading and paying to have everything transferred to the new 2020 MBP and there's been no issue. IIRC my old MBP was running Catalina and the new one is running Big Sur. I had to buy an adapter for the Seagate Backup Plus Drive I've been using without issue as an external hard drive but I just tried it and it no longer pops up automatically on my desktop like it used to. I checked the disk utility and tried to mount it but I was unable to and I got the following error: com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error 49153. On top of that I can't perform first aid either as the button is greyed out. What do I do? This is years of data I can't afford to lose. [link] [comments]  |

| Any way to get into iPhone without passcode? Posted: 07 Aug 2021 07:52 PM PDT About 3 months ago my iPhone 6 s had a really bad cracked screen and got wet. Put it in rice but didn't do anything. I got a new phone but unfortunately did not back the old one up, so I lost all my data. When trying to get in, the phone restarted and Touch ID won't work without inputting my passcode. The right half of the screen is unresponsive and my phone passcode has two 9's in it. When I connect it to the computer, I can't connect to iTunes because the prompt to trust the computer occurs after the phone is unlocked. Does anyone have any tricks to unlock it without a passcode? | Posted: 07 Aug 2021 11:34 AM PDT I recently got a 27" Apple Thunderbolt Display (the kind made between 2011 and 2016) for my late 2013 Mac Pro (the garbage can) running Catalina 10.15.7. The display obviously connects by Thunderbolt and works fine when I connect it after the computer is booted with my old display connected. However, it doesn't recognize the camera or microphone built into the display. If I restart with the display connected to the computer, the display will activate with a black screen, but will not display anything like the logo or sign in page. I have worked around this by booting with my old HDMI monitor connected, then disconnecting that and plugging in the Thunderbolt display but this is less than ideal. Any idea why the Thunderbolt display won't activate on startup or why it won't connect the camera or mic when connected? [link] [comments]  |

| Apple Store Didn’t Recognize Apple Care+ Posted: 07 Aug 2021 11:40 AM PDT I have a 2018 MacBook Pro and posted on here about a month ago regarding a spill that I had that eventually caused my keyboard to stop working. I'm a college student and I've been working all summer to make money to afford the repair/replacement if worse came to worst, so I just took it to the Apple Store today. They opened up the laptop and told me that the top case, fan, and logic board would all need to be repaired/replaced and that I would be looking at a cost of $1299 to repair it, and suggested that I instead get a brand new one for either cheaper or the same price, depending on the model. They insisted that I did not have Apple Care+ even though I could've sworn I did, but they gave me a list of Authorized Apple Service Centers to get a second opinion. I went to one of them to check and within 30 seconds they checked the serial number and were able to see that I had Apple Care+ for 36 more days. My MacBook is being sent out to an Apple Depot for repair for $299, where they essentially told me they're going to replace the entire inside of the computer so it would be like new. The second opinion saved me $1000, which as I stated, I'm a college student so that is quite a big deal. I'm trying to give Apple the benefit of the doubt but I'm a tad disheartened that they insisted I didn't have Apple Care+ when I was sure I did as they tried to get me to buy an entirely new device. Is it possible it was a mistake on their end, or is it more likely a conscious decision to do so? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 07 Aug 2021 05:32 PM PDT One of my clients came to me with this XR complaining about several reboots during its normal usage. When I asked him to tell me its "story" he told me it has got a first battery replacement (not original) months ago, but after few days he had to go back to the technician because the battery started to swollen up so they've replaced it again and since then the iPhone often reboots during usage. I started some usage tests and the phone rebooted few times as the client told me so I've done a complete restore from iTunes and also recalibrate the battery (just to be sure). The situation now is kinda weird: the phone does work properly but it seems to struggle with the lock button, at some point it gets hard to wake up the phone, it responds with seconds of delay when pressing the lock button and one time in two days I had to reboot it. I've thought about three main possibilities: - the screen itself could have some problem when it comes to "wake up" from screen locking - the battery is still causing problems (most likely) - iOS bug (latest version installed) Did anyone experience the same with an XR? Thanks! EDIT: Even After a DFU restore the phone is still having the reboot issue now not apparently linked with the lock button, it just happens like the day he brought me the device. | iPhone 11 Pro Max camera and flashlight not working Posted: 07 Aug 2021 01:23 PM PDT I recently updated to iOS 14.7.1 and now my rear camera won't work and neither will my flashlight. I'm not sure if the update was the problem but when I bring up the camera it's just a black screen until I flip it to the front camera. There is only 1 app where it works right but it's all blurry just in that app. My other apps have the camera as a black screen. I tried restarting the phone, restarting the app, and reset all my sittings with no luck [link] [comments]  |
