    M1 MacBook External Display Stop Working

    Hi, I recently stepped in a problem with macOS (or maybe M1 version) where my 4k display stop working when I open the macbook lid or if the macbook goes into sleep mode.
    The problem is, it never turns back on, nor restarting or reconnecting helps, it only get back to function if i reinstall macOS (even tho it works on recoveryOS) I deleted all my preferences or display related configs and nothing helped, does anyone ever had this issue and fixed it somehow?

    I'm aware items can be flagged from inbox/sent items - however I've not found a way to flag for follow up while composing an email like in Windows Outlook

    dual partition boot disk with Yosemite and Big Sur?

    I've got some apps that can't run on the newer Mac OS's so I'd like to have a startup disk that can boot either Yosemite, or Big Sur. I realize Yosemite uses the older HFS file system, and Big Sur uses APFS. But is it possible to create a dual boot startup disk that uses one or the other (not simultaneously)? Seems I can't format a disk in anything other than APFS using Disk Util if that's what is currently installed. Therefore I'm guessing I need to make a bootable Yosemite thumb drive, install Yosemite onto the internal from that. But then what?

    Hi, new to MacOS. I used to use MS Paint for basic image edits without the need of Photoshop. I know it sounds weird but MS Paint was simple and quick enough to add a patch / move certain elements in an image / replicate a coloured background from one part to another etc. Is there a word for word similar app on Mac?

    Accidentally deleted the Color LCD mode display profile for Macbook Pro 2019 16-inch. Is there any way I can get it back?

    Think it's like a Color LCD.icc file but was deleted. Path was /System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/

    Why does my Music App have such high Energy Impact

    My Music app while in Library is at an Energy Impact ranging from 10-20 but while in full screen player with the lyrics the energy impact shoots upto 60+.

    How do I mount my Linux machine's filesystem on Mac?

    I have a Linux machine on my home network. I am trying to mount its entire filesystem onto my Mac so that I can manage files through the Finder or some other file manager on my Mac.

    I have tried mounting the filesystem through SFTP (on the ForkLift program) and SMB (by installing Samba on Linux and then mounting it in the Finder), and although I was able to mount them, they were only read-only. How do I actually mount my Linux filesystem so that I can read and write from it?

    What pdf reader/marker to use?

    I was thinking to buy PDFelemt by Wondershare but it costs like 79€ yearly or 120€ single buy which seems kinda much for me? What alternative could I be using? My problem in MacOS' standard program I cannot mark a scanned text. Any cheap alternatives where I can mark free handedly? Any tips are greatly appreciated

    How to let a friend use your MacBook? Password protect apps?

    Hi, I'm new to macOS and one thing that is bothering me is that my MacBook is basically a clone of my phone. All my private photos and text messages are available on the Mac.

    How do you guys let another person use your computer? My friends would without a doubt look through everything. Do you use separate accounts? Is there a simple way to password/Touch ID protect certain apps?

    Big Sur's Time Machine stalls, then fills my backup drive with...nothing??

    Hey guys, weird problem here. This is on a new M1 MacBook Air, with a new Samsung 870 EVO SSD. The SSD is 512GB and the MBA is 256GB, so plenty of room for the backup. I've tried other SSD's, a different SATA adapter, reformatting the drive(s), removing TM local snapshots, and even a MacOS reinstall. Big Sur is updated.

    It will start the TM backup, get to about 35GB (of around 105GB), then stall. But the drive will continue to fill up, right up until it's totally full, and then you get the "drive is full" error. It also did this on a 2TB Time Capsule with totally different drives/connections/etc, so I think the problem is somewhere on the MBA with MacOS.

    EDIT: could this be related to Dropbox's Smart Sync feature? There are a bunch of "ghost" files on my computer with placeholders that don't take up any space, but link to files on Dropbox that would far exceed my HDD's capacity. Maybe the TM is trying to copy all of those somehow?

    EDIT 2: Yep, it was Smart Sync in Dropbox. Excluded the Dropbox folder, and the TM ran fine.

    Dark mode switches into Light mode at around 6-7 AM, without me setting it to Auto. I make sure to change it Dark mode in the system preferences but that does not seem to help. Does anyone know how to resolves this? (Big Sur 11.4 on MBA, 2017)
