| MacBook Pro won’t send messages Posted: 03 Jul 2021 07:40 PM PDT I have a MacBook Pro running macOS Big Sur and out of nowhere a few days ago it stopped sending and receiving texts and FaceTime calls. It's updated to the newest version on my iPhone iMessages for my Mac is enabled and on my Mac my number is set up with it but every time I try to send a text it says not delivered this happens on any wifi network even when plugged into Ethernet can anyone help? | Big Sir m1 mba- unable to add 2nd profile Posted: 03 Jul 2021 06:53 PM PDT So I've successfully created my admin profile, however when I create a new profile for my wife- if I restart my m1 mba, the " new " profile is on the start screen , but when I try to log in to set her account up, it forces me to use Touch ID and sign into my main profile. If I log out - her profile is not showing. If I try to use fast user switching I can even see the new profile. Have tried creating a secondary profile for her even with admin rights, and tried turning security log in off. Ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. [link] [comments]  |

I recently finished my long trial of AppleTV that was being shared to wife via family sharing. Wife bought new iPad so got free 1yr trial also. Apple TV is active on her account but I can't get it to go back through family sharing to me. Is this a thing that only the organiser account can share the subscriptions? While taking photos, the geotag itself will be correct (when I look at the places map it is correct) but on the actual picture it says the wrong location. | Green bubbles after being unblocked? Posted: 03 Jul 2021 09:25 PM PDT Someone blocked me at one point so the bubbles were green and now they unblocked me and when I text them at first the bubbles are blue but they don't actually send they get stuck in limbo for like 5 minutes til they actually send as a standard text (green bubble), I know I'm not still blocked because they get the text and respond, but the delay is kind of a vibe killer. How can I get back to where we can both use iMessage? We both have iPhones and my messages from them are still iMessage not standard SMS. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 03 Jul 2021 08:59 PM PDT My Magic Mouse is a few years old and lately I've been noticing a lag almost, where it becomes harder to physically drag the mouse, or the cursor gets "stuck" on the screen. Usually, a quick surface clean of the bottom of the mouse and the tracking feet (two black bars underneath) and it's back to normal. I see that the two feet seem to be a tiny bit worn in some spots, not noticeably unless you look closely. The usual surface clean doesn't seem to help anymore. I'll switch to a different mouse pad, sometimes that'll help, sometimes not. My question is.. is it time to replace the mouse? Is it possible to replace just the two black feet? If yes, any idea what the mouse "tracking feet" are called? Or is it a mousepad issue? It does feel like a hardware issue vs. an OS issue. I've used electronic sprays/wipes in the past, thinking this could be contributing factor. Or honestly just wear and tear. This Magic Mouse definitely gets its daily exercise lol. However, while we know how to save the message, itself, the date and time stamps are not also saved with the message. I've tried connecting my phone to itunes and updating it using recovery mode but nothing is working. How can I save the pictures on my phone without deleting them when factory restating? I'm a longtime OSX/MacOS user, and I've always dragged folders and files from one location/folder to another through the finder. But after upgrading the Big Sur, I just can't do that anymore. It's driving me crazy! (I don't think it's a hardware issue because I upgraded on two laptops including a new one, and it's the same issue on both.) Sometimes its there sometimes its not. It gets darker when the screen is black and lighter when it's white, so the lightness must depend on the color of the screen. I've also noticed that the entire screen also appears weird, like it's color shifted. If it helps, I have an iPhone Xs Max that i've had since 2018. I've dropped it alot, so that might be the cause. I'm currently looking at purchasing an iMac and I'm in-between 3 options. I'm a graphic designer and sometimes work with video and looking to work with more higher end projects such as 3D and all that. My current setup is a 2018 MacBook Pro with an i9 processor and 32gb of ram. Works fine most of the time but sometimes it's starting to not keep up with my workflow. I also do not care for the speakers, webcams and all that stuff, mainly looking for the best performance here. It's always been a dream to buy the 27in iMac and now I have a good excuse to do so. I'm currently looking at this:
After doing some research, the M1 iMac is still pretty competitive with an almost fully specced out 27in Intel based Mac. Money isn't an issue, but I would also save about $2k. I would upgrade the M1 iMac to 16gb of ram as well. The only problem I see here is the lack of customization of the M1 iMac. Will the graphics card also be a big factor? I can also wait until hopefully the rumored 30in or 32in (M1X or M2 or whatever) iMac is released. This is also a factor since some OSmonterey features will only be available on M1 Macs. Right now it's not a big issue because I doubt I'll be using many of those features anyway, but I know it could be an issue going forward. Does anyone here uses either machine to do similar work and how is your experience like? Is it still worth it getting and Intel based Mac? Are the specs I'm going with on the 27in iMac comparable to the M1 iMac's? Any input is helpful! [link] [comments]  |

I'd like to use Screen Time to block apps that distract me during the work day, but I've been hesitant to enable it because of the privacy implications. It seems like parents use Screen Time to monitor what websites their child visits. Is this an optional feature, or one that's enabled by default when you use Screen Time? I'm only interested in the app blocking feature. I'm not opposed to seeing how much time I spend on individual apps, but logging more granular activity would be dealbreaker for me if it can't be disabled - even if the data is only stored locally, I share my phone with family sometimes, so it's not something I'm comfortable with. If anyone here could help me understand how Screen Time works and which features aren't optional, I'd be grateful. For some reason I can't seem to find the answer to this question anywhere online.
