Posted: 05 Jul 2021 01:30 PM PDT Basically title. I was going through some stuff in my house and came across my old 3rd gen. It's obviously too old to be a viable daily use iPad (I have an 8th gen anyway), as it doesn't have support for newer OS versions. Are there any good uses for it? I'd hate to just recycle it if there's a way I can give it a new life. [link] [comments]

2021 M1 vs. 2018 iPad Pro – Does it feel snappier / more responsive? Posted: 05 Jul 2021 08:51 AM PDT I know the M1 iPad must be much quicker when stretching it to its limits with heavier tasks like video/photo editing etc., but what about simpler, everyday interactions? One thing that slows me down from doing work with my 2018 iPad Pro is that, compared to my M1 MacBook Air, when I launch an app like Safari, I feel like there's a bit of a delay before I can start interacting with the app, like hitting CMD-L to focus and type in the address bar. (I'm impatient, I know). I feel like "I" am usually the bottleneck while working on my M1 MacBook Air, while I feel like I'm constantly waiting for iPad animations to finish before being able to interact with an app. Has anyone with an M1 iPad Pro noticed that general interface interactions are snappier? Or is the bottleneck usually the animation speed and overall iOS design? By upgrading my iPad, would I only notice a speed difference while using graphics-intensive "pro" apps? I hope that makes sense. I know perceived speed is very subjective, but just wondering if anecdotally the M1 interface interactions feel faster than on my 2018 iPad Pro. Thanks in advance for your patience with my potentially-unclear and heavily subjective question :) [link] [comments]
iPad app where you can draw over the top of a video in real time? Posted: 05 Jul 2021 06:47 AM PDT Does anyone know of an iPad app where you can draw over the top of a video in real time and save it to a transparent (Or black/white/green) video layer that you can then export and use in a video editing suite without the original video being displayed in the background? (So again I stress on a separate layer where you can turn off the original video layer). I don't mean frame by frame, I mean in real time. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Jul 2021 02:11 PM PDT Websites feel really zoomed in on the 12.9 iPad. Is there anyway to zoom out like if I was on a PC? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Jul 2021 12:46 PM PDT This has probably been asked many times over, but I wanted to ask given my personal circumstances. I am buying an iPad from an acquaintance. They have been known to do some shady stuff in the past, but I know that the iPad isn't stolen. What I am concerned about, however, is that they could get my money and then say I stole it anyway. So the process I had them go through in front of me was to go to the settings and do a full erase. It asked for their password which they put in willingly, and it now brings me to the "Hello" screen. Is this device fully wiped? And can they use anything like "Find my" to lock it or see my location after doing this wipe? [link] [comments]
I have an issue with my iPad Pro 2021. Posted: 05 Jul 2021 11:54 AM PDT The internet speed is really slow. My phone and laptop have high speeds, but my iPad only has like 7mb/s…. Any fixes? [link] [comments]

Is it possible to make PDF font size bigger while still providing annotation? [academic] Posted: 04 Jul 2021 10:28 PM PDT 3rd gen 11" iPad Pro w/ apple pencil. Issue: I primarily read papers on my iPad, in PDF format. Many are 2 column, and quite small font (maybe sz 8 or 10). It's a mess to read. Here is an example. I use liquid mode in adobe reader to reflow the text to make it fit the screen properly, however that's not a very good annotation app, and most annotation apps don't provide this kind of feature. Is there an ideal way to make font bigger on PDFs in an app that still allows you to make notes and edits? [link] [comments]

Questions re: iPad Pro, Dropbox, and Lightroom Posted: 04 Jul 2021 07:07 PM PDT Wondering if any photographers that use iPad Pro for basic editing in photoshop and lightroom could let me know what my options are here. Wanting to get an iPad Pro for editing photos while travelling, and I can't find a clear answer as to whether a workflow using Dropbox is possible. On my macbook pro, my current workflow is to keep all my photos on Dropbox, selectively sync folders to my macbook for editing, with the Lightroom Library also residing on the Dropbox. My Lightroom library is linked to those dropbox folders, but they're not all selectively synced to my macbook at any given time. I'd love to keep most aspects of this workflow, but from what I gather, Dropbox doesn't offer selective sync to the files app on the iPad. Would I have to download the photos directly to the iPad storage (i.e. create a new folder in the Files app, copy the photos from Dropbox, import to Lightroom, edit, then upload back to the Dropbox), or is there a way to link the Lightroom Library to the dropbox folder and selectively sync that folder to the hard drive on the iPad? Need help with Google Meet call volume issue Posted: 04 Jul 2021 06:07 PM PDT I've had issues where my Meet volume is extraordinarily loud even though it's at the lowest volume setting on my iPad (2 if you use the volume rocker) and it still sounds like it's at a level 5 volume level (as the iPad allows you to control the device volume from 1 to 15 with 15 being the max volume) blasting out of my speakers, which is extremely loud as one of the participants in the meet talks really loudly and I have no way to lower to volume of my Meet. At volume 1, my iPad mutes the meet which is an extremely stupid thing and I can't seem to go below level 1 with my volume rocker, it just stays there. At this volume setting, I can still watch YouTube or listen to music on other apps but the sounds are barely audible. This trend is also noticeable when I am in a Meet and I want to play music or watch a video. The volume for my other apps get significantly reduced and my meet/call volume is a lot louder (perhaps this is a feature by Apple to enhance audio clarity in calls but I wish to disable it if possible) This pattern also carries on through other apps such as Zoom and Discord where as long as I am in a call, this situation occurs. I'd appreciate it greatly if someone could offer assistance to disable this annoying features as I wish to have a more normal control over my device volume. [link] [comments] |
