    Very laggy Mission Control with 5K ultrafine

    I have major issues with the LG Ultrafine 5k display. Just bought the display and mission control lags like crazy when having more than a few windows open. I have reinstalled MacOS and tried changing cables.

    Is this is any way normal for this Mac model. It seriously can't be that the baseline AMD 15 incher isn't able to run the display smoothly?

    I'm using a MacBook pro 2017 15" with the 2GB VRAM AMD card.

    VRAM is constantly at around 80-90 percent and graphic load at like 20-50 percent when using mission control. So it doesn't use all resources and still it lags? This is checked with istat. Might be the vram that is the culprit.

    Grateful if anyone has any tips or advice on what's going on....

    Failed to clean install macOS Sierra on Macbook pro 2017

    I've been trying to install macOS Sierra or macOS High Sierra. I've been trying to install macOS Sierra multiple times, yet stuck at the last few seconds.

    Here are the details:

    Any idea what should I do? I have the Macbook pro 2017 with the touchbar and touch ID. It's a used laptop (11 Battery Cycle count) that I have just received and had no OS on it.

    On a Macbook Pro, if I use a discrete GPU (whether internal or eGPU), will that free up my system RAM, since the integrated GPU uses system RAM as video RAM?

    "About this Mac" has the following GPU info:

    • MD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 MB
    • Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

    Thinking that unchecking Settings -> Energy Saver -> Automatic Graphics Switching might disable the Iris iGPU, and free up that 1536MB of RAM?

    Wondering if this would be any different if I had an eGPU with 8GB vRAM?

    When using the Upload/Save As window, is there any way to sort different folders differently? I know I can sort individual folders differently in Finder, but this seems to take a "one size fits all" approach. Any advice/tips?

    Help to understand my crash report + wake up problem on Macbook 2017

    Hi guys.

    I have problem with my Macbook. Im having a periodic problem.

    When I open the lid, to go from sleep to wake, sometimes my Macbook restarts and take up to 30 sekunder to turn on again and sometimes it never turn on again by itself. But sometimes If I close the lid and open the lid again in few minutes, it wakes up like it normally should. I have tried reset SMC and NVRAM. I have tried clean install, fresh install and time machine backup and nothing works. It has been like this for maybe 1 week now. But for the first time today i got a crash report. Can anybody tell me what the problem is? I got my topcase replaced some time ago, but I dont know if the issue can come from that or where the issue come from.

    Is boot camp on system already using apfs possible?

    I have tried many many methods to resize the apfs partition in order to enable me to add a hfs partition but have failed so far, with various error messages. Is this actually possible?
