- My apologies if you already know, but I just found that Vimeo app on Apple TV is 3D! It has an extra layer underneath the logo. Perhaps to you it is not even worth mentioning but I still want to appreciate their dedication to detail!

I have a sony bravia tv, an onkyo receiver, and an appletv 4k all controlled ala harmony remote. prior to swapping in the appletv I used an nvidia shield for years, problem free. with the appletv my tv will randomly turn off then back on, mid whatever im watching. Ive disabled CEC on all devices. Ive tried 4 different hdmi cables. Ive turned off airplay. Ive tried another appleID. Ive disabled match framerate and range. I'm set to 4:2:0 chroma. Ive tried with auto changed to DD instead in audio and atmos disabled. Ive even changed the DHCP lease time on my router in case it was somehow web related. (also hardwired fwiw). Anything else you guys can think of checking? I have the shields back on the desk for after I cut the lawn today but I'd prefer to keep the appletv as i just bought the darn thing and im pretty invested in the ecosystem. Randomly turning my tv off and on is no bueno. One thing i noticed is that if i disable CEC on my receiver, it'll disappear from my tv's CEC devices list. If i disable it on the appletv, it doesnt matter - still shows up. No idea if its related. Reddit is always the last hope after hours of toiling and google have failed :P [link] [comments]  | ||

| Hulu audio would not stop from the last show I had been watching. Posted: 23 Jun 2021 10:21 PM PDT I exited the app, returned and it was still playing in from the main Hulu menu. I picked another show… started it and could still hear the audio from that other show over top of the audio from the selected. Days later I returned to Hulu…audio from that show was still playing … even if I selected something else. Only way to get it to stop was to remove the Hulu app completely than reinstall and sign back in. That it happened once leads me to think it will happen again. | Netflix streaming in low quality Posted: 23 Jun 2021 05:50 PM PDT I have a 64gb Apple TV4K. I also have a Netflix 4k subscription. In the Netflix app, the trailers when you're browsing the titles as well as when I select a movie/show it all streams in really low quality (lowers than 720p). Streaming works fine on Disney+/AtV+/Youtube. I have a 100mbps internet, ATV is connected via LAN. Video settings are 4K 60hz HDR. Range ( dislike DV picture) as well as Frame Rate (leads to lip sync issue) matching is OFF. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Netflix and it doesn't work. Please help. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Apple TV 4K (2021) Audio Sync Issues Posted: 23 Jun 2021 10:12 AM PDT Hello! Been having issues with audio/video syncing with my new ATV 4K. Right now I have connected my ATV straight to my LG CX using a HDMI 2.1 cable, and then from the LG CX out to my Samsung Q950A soundbar using eArc. The audio sync issue is such that the audio appears to be AHEAD of the video, and as such, adjusting audio delay further through the soundbar isn't an option. Sync issue also appears to be pretty consistent across Netflix, Hulu, etc - so not just one platform. When I connect my ATV to my soundbar, and then connect my soundbar using eArc to the TV, the audio/video seem to sync perfectly. Only thing is since my soundbar does not have HDMI 2.1 ports, I'd rather run the ATV straight into the TV if at all possible. Anyone have any ideas? [link] [comments]  | ||
| Apple TV 4K just turned into a paperweight. Livid. Posted: 23 Jun 2021 05:31 PM PDT When I was resetting my Apple TV 4K first gen, I somehow tuned on VoiceOver. After that, my remote stopped working and I was stuck on the Data and Privacy screen. No amount of re-pairing or trying other remotes would get it to work. Unplugging it reboots the ATV back to the same screen with no response from the remote. Now, since Apple decided to remove the service port on this gen, my piece of hardware just turned into a paperweight because of what is obviously a software bug. The only service fees listed on Apple's website are the cost of an entire replacement, since it's out of warranty. This is crazy. Rant over. Edit: I managed to access the legendary recovery mode, but as it's still in voiceover mode, I can't select any options. Edit2: this has been solved thanks to u/GetVladamir I'm adding keywords for Google posterity in case anyone else has this issue. But the Apple ID for this phone is tied to my work email address. Just wondering if it's at all possible to somehow transfer the free trial to my own personal existing Apple ID? I bought an Xbox series X controller few months ago and been using it on iPad and Mac without issues, though an alert kept popping up that I need to update firmware. Now that I wanted to connect it to my apple TV it keeps disconnecting after a minute. My question is, is there a way to update the firmware of an xbox controller through my MacBook? I found solutions using Windows but thats not an option for me. Has anyone experienced anything similar to this? Thanks for the help! [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 23 Jun 2021 08:55 AM PDT At the moment if you set your Apple TV too for instance 4K dv 60hz, a lot of content will lag / judder a bit as the content can't scale to 60hz (24hz movies etc), and to counter this you need to set the Apple TV to automatically change output signal based on content.
It works fine with the auto output change on Apple TV, but it ruins a bit of the seamless experience when you flash to black for 3-5 seconds and the content starts playing [link] [comments]  | ||

| Screen blackout with SDR not HDR Posted: 23 Jun 2021 11:19 AM PDT TV: 4K HDR10 2018 LG - LCD I realise there should be a screen blackout for playing HDR content, but is this necessary when i'm playing 1080p HD shows? I don't get why it needs to do this as it never did with my Fire Stick for HD content. Whenever I come out of a show I get the Disney+ interface for a split second for example then it blacks out for a second and brings me back to it. I also keep getting random cutouts when browsing the menus or especially when playing games on Arcade. I can't see how my settings are causing this. Is my Chroma too high for what my TV is capable and I should drop? I put the format on SDR 4K 24fps option but the menu looked bad when I was clicking up and down. But I don't think i was getting blackouts with it. I've searched this topic on the subreddit but lost people were talking about blackouts with HDR content which I already expect.
