Posted: 26 Jun 2021 07:22 PM PDT So randomly my MacBook Air M1's cursor will get stuck: when I move my finger on the track pad it will begin to move and then randomly get stuck even though I'm moving my finger, it happens more frequently when I use the direct center of the trackpad. I've contacted Apple support and have an appointment this Tuesday to get it fixed. I was just wondering if this is a common issue or if anyone has experienced this. Thank you [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jun 2021 07:55 PM PDT I just ordered the M1 MacBook Air. I was wondering if should order a case for it (like the UAG one) or should I just go for a skin instead. I'm worried about scratches but the case offers better protection. Someone once told me that cases in the long run can damage the hinge so I just wanted to know if there will be any problems like that in the future. [link] [comments] |
Are there really no good free adblocks for safari?? Posted: 26 Jun 2021 02:49 PM PDT I just got my MacBook Air, this is my first macOS device I've ever used. I'm really in love with it, it works flawlessly but my biggest gripe is that there are no working adblocks for safari. I've read that everyone strongly recommends to use safari on MacBooks over installing chrome, and so that's what I've been doing. But however I can't find any free Adblock extensions that actually block all ads and also block YouTube ads. For example, uBlock Origin worked on every single website and was great, but I can't find any good alternative. Any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Playing sims/games on a new MBA M1 Posted: 26 Jun 2021 04:47 PM PDT My old MBP did not handle the sims well, does anyone play on their new MBA M1? Or any tips? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jun 2021 07:47 PM PDT The two-finger scroll on my MacBook Air's trackpad has never worked. I've tried everything to fix it, including entering a certain command into the Terminal, but nothing has worked. Does anyone know how to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Poor streaming quality for M1 Chrome Posted: 26 Jun 2021 06:01 PM PDT I mostly use Safari but after streaming a movie for an hour I received the infamous "this window is using too much memory" and it closed out the tab. I find this quite annoying so I decided to try out chrome for streaming but every service I use the quality is super low. A noticeable difference between Safari and Chrome while streaming from disney plus and hbomax. I remember reading that chrome could only do 720p but that was years ago surely this is not still the same? [link] [comments] |
Macbook Connection Poor After Repair Posted: 26 Jun 2021 05:10 PM PDT Hey guys, I posted two days ago because I got milk in my Mac. I had it fixed yesterday and the person told me that it was completely fine with no issues. He even said that no issue existed and that the trackpad was just sticky which he cleaned up. Prior to his repair, my Mac was fully-functioning with no issues after I spilled the milk. However, it keeps randomly disconnecting from the internet now and not in the sense that the wifi symbol disappears or it actually disconnects from the network but the internet just fails and I have to wait until it magically comes back. Could this be because of the repair shop or what could explain this? [link] [comments] |
Other storage increased after wipe? Posted: 26 Jun 2021 05:03 PM PDT Hey all, I hope this is the right sub to ask, because it's something that's been on my mind for a while. It's not a major issue, and if there's nothing to be done about it then I won't bother, but I'd still like some insight. When I first got my MacBook Pro M1, the Other storage on it took about 11-15gbs of my hard drive. On my iPhone, I'm not bothered by Other storage at all, in fact I forgot it existed, but the Mac version was concerning me as I only got the 256gb SSD model. So, in an act of compulsion, I wiped my hard drive following Apple's instructions for wiping a drive from an M1 computer. When I reinstalled MacOS, the Other went from 11-15 as it was when I first got it, to 20.47gbs. And I've done absolutely nothingdifferent besides reinstall my Final Cut suite. What could this be? I checked CleanMyMac for the one time and it said the only junk files were caches, which I could delete but they only took around 300mbs. Did I do something wrong? [link] [comments] |
Ways to change the colour of my MacBook? Posted: 26 Jun 2021 04:19 PM PDT I bought a MacBook Air in space grey, and just not feeling the colour. Don't really want to return it for such a shallow reason, so can anyone recommend any skins/covers I can use to change the colour to silver? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jun 2021 02:35 PM PDT Does anyone know what this app does? I'm cleaning up my sisters macbook and "com.apple.AOSPushRelay" popped up in the caches, but i don't know if it's something I can delete. A google search only leads me to a pretty sketchy site where you can download AOSPushRelay without a description of what it is. The folder contains 3 documents: cache.db, cache.db-shm and cache.db-wal [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jun 2021 02:05 PM PDT Hello everyone recently I've been looking at getting a new laptop been waiting for a AMD laptop but nothing compared to what the MacBook Air m1 brings for value. I've recently decided to get a MacBook Air again and wanted to know if going with the 512gb ssd and 16gb ram is worth the upgrade? I do want to have it for a while as I've owned a 2015 MacBook Pro that still works but is showing its age. Thanks in advance everyone. [link] [comments] |
