Why is it so hard for apple to give different volume control for ringer and notifications Posted: 29 Jun 2021 12:43 AM PDT Sometimes I don't understand these silly things done by apple. It is piece of cake to give different volume control for ringtone and for notifications. It can give different sound alerts (Ringtone and text tone) but no option to set their sound levels separately. Pathetic and disappointing. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jun 2021 04:27 AM PDT Had been using android for nearly 10 years before I got the iphone 11. I had various samsung phones for 5 years, and then OnePlus for 5 years. Here's my feedback for iOS/software bit: Things that worked well for me:
Things that don't work for me / suck:
Things that need improvement / are not broken:

Favorite app for personal project management? Posted: 29 Jun 2021 07:20 AM PDT Hi all, Wondering if anyone can recommend a solid app for personal projects? Basically don't need anything fancy or meant for businesses. Would just like to create projects and document the steps/tasks and completion level along the way. (Think...learning a new hobby/skill, landscaping/yardwork, house renos, etc) Thanks! [link] [comments]
Calendar alarm instead of notifications Posted: 29 Jun 2021 07:07 AM PDT I'm missing calendar notifications. I need calendar to trigger alarm-like sound and stop only when I dismiss it. I used to have this on android. How do I do it on iPhone? I saw suggestions to use IFTTT, but what flow should I use to get the desired result? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Jun 2021 03:55 PM PDT Well today is the 14th birthday of the iPhone, I still have my very first one and its still running iPhoneOS 1.0, hard to imagine the iPhone without the App Store and without being able to move the app icons lol. even harder to imagine a world without all the phones that the iPhone inspired. Posted: 29 Jun 2021 07:55 AM PDT Hey there. I'm not sure if this is even remotely possible, but is there any way to make notification sounds smarter? A situation I am often in (as I imagine most people are) is getting a series of texts and whatnot from people I'm messaging with. It's kind of annoying that it'll send 5-6 notification dings in the span of a minute. Is there a way to have it be silent for 60 seconds after the first notification from a particular chat comes in? Or, barring that, is there any way to making it not ding when I have the phone in hand? Like if I'm scrolling through IG, I can see the banner come down. I don't need the ding when I'm actively looking at the phone. I dunno. Shot in the dark in case anyone has a workaround. [link] [comments]

Colour temperature on the 12pm Posted: 29 Jun 2021 06:57 AM PDT Hi guys so I just upgraded to an iPhone 12pm and I was wondering if anyone else noticed a slightly warmer colour temperature on the display or is it just me? [link] [comments]
TIL: The Pocket app allows PiP, background playback, without ads for YouTube videos. Posted: 29 Jun 2021 06:14 AM PDT Something I discovered when I accidentally shared a video into pocket. When I opened it through the app, I could just play Ad-free, PiP and in the background with a locked screen. Technically it means, Pocket can be used as a YT-client to play music in the background and play videos PiP. Not sure if it work on all videos, but it might be a poor mans solution to some problems. Edit: I know of all the alternatives. Just wanted to share this one here. [link] [comments]
Solution to this annoying 15 second Apple Music bug? Posted: 29 Jun 2021 05:53 AM PDT I'm on iOS 14.6, have an Apple Music subscription but this 15 second music bug where the song just stops playing when I'm on mobile data is so annoying. [link] [comments]
Transfer photos from IPhone to Win10 PC Posted: 29 Jun 2021 02:02 AM PDT Hello, i could use some help with transfering photos from an iphone to a windows 10 PC. Usually all pictures taken from family members end up on my hard drive for central storage. We have one Iphone User in our family. This didn't pose any problem untill this family member switched from an Iphone SE to an Iphone 11 about a year ago. I just cant get this to work. Heres what I tried so far 1.) Connect via USB Cable and transfer while converting to jpeg
I am running out of ideas now. All I want is to transfer all photos from an iphone 11 to my windows machine. Have them in the best possible quality and converted to jpeg (I don't care if the conversion is done afterwards via a third party app). Any suggestions are welcome 😊 [link] [comments]
Apple Music not showing in daily summary of battery usage Posted: 29 Jun 2021 05:36 AM PDT Every time I'm playing music from AM in my car, in battery stats I can see that for example yesterday AM was in background 2h 25min but it's not showing in summary. Every other app that runs in background is in daily summary but AM not. Any one know why this is happening? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jun 2021 04:49 AM PDT Am I the only one who sometimes experiences stuttering when swiping up to the home screen or opening an app? It feels like it drops frames when it happens and I am starting to question my Xs tbh. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jun 2021 03:51 AM PDT Imagine someone wants to borrow your phone, why not have a guest user mode with extremely limited usage such as phone call only with no contact list access and no access to any other apps. When the phone is handed back and you look through recent calls it will not be there, but on a separate calls made through guest user mode in a different section so as to not take up space in your primary user recent calls list. It would be very useful, so as for children, other relatives, friends, coworkers, etc. to not gain access to the owners information and/or corrupt said info if they let someone make phone call on their device. Posted: 29 Jun 2021 01:22 AM PDT Since I've recently been looking for a new alarm sound, it's fair to say that I know which sounds are available on my iPhone and which aren't. So, today my alarm went off at 8:50 am with an alarm sound that isn't even in the default sounds. And I didn't put an alarm for that time. I double and triple checked, I didn't. Does anyone have an idea why my phone is acting weirdly? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jun 2021 12:27 AM PDT I got a new iPhone a little while back and while setting it up, I used the transfer from iPhone to the new one. While I did that, I noticed another email pop up when I tried to enter mine. All my passwords have been compromised, and I'm pretty sure my Apple ID is hacked. I tried deleting my ID, but was unable to. Is my only option to start a new ID? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Jun 2021 12:01 AM PDT A while ago I used up my iPhone's 50GB iCloud storage so, pictures stopped uploading to it after that. Still, I took lots of pictures with my phone and now, a long while later, I was deciding to give my iPhone to a family member of mine, though, I would have to clear my phone. Therefore, I bought the 200GB storage for iCloud to have them on my new iPhone and Mac but and none of my items have uploaded yet. I checked in settings and everything should be set for the photos and videos to upload to it. I checked the bottom of the Photos app and it shows that none of my items that were supposed to upload after the upgrade in iCloud storage have done so. When I click "Manage Storage" it simply prompts me to buy the 2TB storage despite my measly 2000 pictures obviously not taking up 200GB. How do I upload my items to iCloud? Any help is greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]
Turn off iMessage reaction notification -- possible in iOS 15? Posted: 28 Jun 2021 12:17 PM PDT I'm in a few 20+ people group chats where people are enthusiastic about reacting to messages. In iOS 14, you can't just turn off notifications for reactions. Imagine your watch/phone going off forever because 20 people are reacting to just 5 messages. With iOS 15 focusing on, well, focus, I wonder if this is something they fixed? [link] [comments]
Child Apple ID grayed ut, apps cannot be downloaded Posted: 28 Jun 2021 06:41 PM PDT Hi Reddit, So today I wanted to download an app from the app store, but whenever I click on the "get" button the button shrinks a little but otherwise does nothing. This occurs for all apps I attempt to download. I am using a children's Apple ID (Apple thinks I'm 8 lol), which is controlled by my parents. I am unable to sign out of that Apple ID because the bar at the top of the Settings homepage is grayed out, and clicking it does nothing. My parents have turned off request to purchase through their phones (settings -> apple id -> family sharing), we have enabled all the settings in Screen Time to allow downloading apps, and nothing has happened. How can I get the apps to download? (I tried restarting the phone, when I click the get button the loading symbol appears for a moment, then the get button comes back and its behavior reverts to its original unresponsive behavior.)
