| Random battery life % behaviour Posted: 20 May 2021 11:58 PM PDT I've had my SE (first gen) phone for a good few years now and general battery life is about what you'd expect after so long, but the % indicator is up the wall. Towards the end of work yesterday I got a low battery warning and the indicator said I had 4% left. Seconds after this it died completely. I plugged it in ( using a van's USB port if that's relevant, and when it rebooted said battery was at 78%. From there it went down to the low 30s, then high 20s before finally charging gradually as you would expect. I'm more curious than I am concerned. Is this simply a faultering battery or is the % indicator knackered? [link] [comments]  |
| No access to apple ID email and don't know security questions Posted: 20 May 2021 02:51 PM PDT Hi everyone, This problem has been affecting me for literally years and I don't know how to fix it. Every time I click into settings or when I'm just messing around on my phone I'll get one of these two pop up's: https://imgur.com/a/l6Sdohy or https://imgur.com/a/k3zmCRg. I know my password, but when I enter it, it says my Apple ID been locked for security reasons and needs verification. My options are to get an email sent to me or remember my security questions. My email account was created when I was 15 or so (I'm 26 now) and is now deactivated (https://imgur.com/a/dXJzz6z), and I don't know the answers to my security questions. No matter what I try I just can't remember the right answers. I have another Apple ID that I want to use but I can't even sign out of my current Apple ID because it requires me to sign in before I can sign out. So what the hell can I do here? I'm so frustrated. I'm starting a new job in a few weeks and need to have my phone working perfectly as it's going to be my business phone number as well. I get that I should've acted sooner and not let this go on so far but it's where I'm at. I haven't called Apple yet but it's probably my next step. There has to be some way to verify that I am the owner of this Apple ID besides these two options, right? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 20 May 2021 12:16 PM PDT Hello! My daughter left her phone on while charging last night. She woke up to it turned off and now she can't turn it on. We unplugged it for awhile, then plugged back in and there was no indication that it was charging. I searched online and tried the "press volume up, volume down, then the power button" for more than 30 seconds with no luck. Anyone have any idea what else we can try? She's only had it since February, but we got it through a rewards program so I'm not sure if it would still be under warranty at an apple store. Please help! [link] [comments]  |
| More dual sim woes (12 pro, iOS 14.5) Posted: 20 May 2021 12:09 PM PDT Dual sim has gotten a lot better, with messages no longer switching people to your other active number that you never gave them, and ios 14.5 finally having 5g when both sims are enabled. Basically when this feature first came to iphones, Apple was treating the second sim slot as a temporary sim for travellers in other countries. They didnt envision it being just used for two numbers all the time in the same phone, but they've mostly corrected now. But one ongoing issue is that when on a call, the other line basically drops off the network as if it doesnt exist! Not only does its service go away, there are no missed call notifications or even voicemails that will come through when it gets signal again! I just want to write a record of this happening, one example of how this is inconvenient is when people want to dial in to my building. The dial system connects to my phone and I get a call and can use the keypad to let them in. If I'm on the phone - sometimes with that very person who has my other number - I cant let them in. Other people may not even know its because of the signal not staying on for the other sim and might not figure it out. The other reason is that I might miss a drug deal. [link] [comments]  |

Today i got it back and it keeps shutting of and restarting. i googled it and it said to try to reset the phone and i did but the problem is still there. | Posted: 20 May 2021 01:33 PM PDT So my Wife got a new iPhone, she had just 16Gb on the old one so I used "Optimize photos" option- all her pictures were sent to iCloud and miniatures were downloaded on the iPhone. On the new iPhone she's got 512Gb so I copied her old one to the new one and selected "keep originals" options. I waited until all her pictures were shown as downloaded in the photo app. I tried then to enter the iCloud thru options and delete all the pictures from the drive. I got a pop up saying "Some of the pictures on iCloud weren't downloaded to this iPhone. Your pictures are going to be erased from iCloud within 30 days. Download and keep original pictures before continuing to prevent their loss." Has anybody got any idea how I can check which pictures weren't downloaded? I don't want to loose any photo. | Weirdest thing happened with iMessage Posted: 20 May 2021 07:18 AM PDT I got an iMessage from my friend at 3:42. At 3:47 i got the exact same message, from a random unknown number. This second message was delivered as a text message and not iMessage. The only difference it has is that my friend used emojis and in the second message all the emojis are replaced by question marks. A couple things to note: 1- My iMessage is only connected to my phone number. 2-My iPhone isn't jailbroken. iOS 14.5.1 3- I don't know this number and i have never associated it with any of my contacts. 4- Yes i have checked my apple id and the only device connected to it is my iPhone. And says 19 days I am running dual sim T-Mobile on esim and US mobile on physical(Verizon) I keep getting this pop up on my Lock Screen and I don't understand how to make it go away or really understand what it means other then in 19 days iMessage will just send things as text instead of using the the service. If it matters I use my t-mobile sim for voice text and data, I have the us mobile(Verizon) plan set to 1k min a month and that's it. So it has no data or messaging on that plan. | iPhone 11 Screen Not Reading Touch + Ghost Typing Posted: 20 May 2021 12:05 PM PDT A few weeks ago this issue started on my phone. In the middle of my phone, and most noticeably when typing, there is a gap where it's no longer picking up my touch. The strangest part is that it comes and goes, sometimes working just fine, and other times The whole screen won't work. Most consistently it isn't picking up in the middle. When I use the keyboard, T V and sometimes Space won't type and other letters will randomly press themselves. Does anyone have any experience with this issue? | PC does not recognize iPhone 12 Pro (do not see it in Windows Explorer) Posted: 20 May 2021 11:35 AM PDT Trying to transfer my photos from my newly purchased iPhone 12 pro to my pc and seeing that I cannot access the folders. Ive disabled iCloud photos, due to previous problems in the past, so have the option of "Keep Original Files" on. Now whenever I connect my iPhone to the PC, the Trust this computer prompt comes up here or there, not all the time. but even so the closest i've been to was seeing my folders and then seeing and heic file. I've looked online for answers, and i've tried making sure my PC, iPhone, and drivers were all updated. Made sure that iTunes had the updated software, and everything that Apple support could assist me with (including chat support, which they've told me to restart my pc with 3 agents.) | Sleep Alarm App Recommendations Posted: 20 May 2021 10:09 AM PDT I switched from Android to iPhone. One of my frustrations is how poor the stock alarm app is. I've looked into the alarm in the Health app and am not crazy about that either. I am happy to pay $ for a 3rd party alarm app, but the reviews scare me. Some reviews of various apps report that if the app is closed, it won't function right or if the phone is silenced, the alarm won't function right, etc. I need a reliable alarm that:

| Posted: 20 May 2021 10:00 AM PDT I use xfinity mobile. So I'm out here on the beach trying to do some work on my laptop. The speeds on my phone are fine, 10mb/s download speed. Regardless of any device I connect to my phone, the laptop or another phone, the hotspot download speeds are like 10kb/s, brutally slow. While the speeds on my iPhone remain the same. I've tried using another iPhone on the same plan as the originator to no avail. Contacted xfinity and they claim they don't throttle hotspot speeds, my data plan is unlimited anyways. Screen time limitations are a joke, as you can bypass the lock down with a single click. I can limit app-time with a password lock, but there doesn't seem to be a way to only do that during certain hours/days. Am I missing a function that's already built in to iOS to do this? I can't open my notes with face id anymore, its insisting that I input a password but I don't remember it anymore. I'd like to add sounds that I import from my PC or from another dumbphone. Is this possible? I realize that I can buy sounds from the iTunes Store, but I'd like to reserve that option as a last resort.
