    Bit of a rant. I do apologise.

    I've had a 4th gen Apple TV for the best part of 5+ years. And in that time it has served well for Netflix, YouTube, Prime, even Apple TV+.

    However, my BIGGEST bug bear is the lack of integration with Freeview in the UK. Considering almost all the channels are available in one way or another through separate apps, it astounds me one of the broadband providers or even Apple themselves haven't integrated a service with Freeview and premium channels as a package.

    If you go with BT TV you spend £10 a month for basically Freeview, NOW entertainment and a YouView box. Talk Talk, its £4 a month for the box to watch Freeview and discounted NOW (works out similar).

    Even FreeviewPlay has apps for phones and iPads but is shocking absent for Apple TV.

    And it's not like this is ground breaking stuff. In the settings you can log into 'TV Providers' that other countries have established. An example is Eir from Ireland with I believe gives you basically Freeview, some premium channels.

    I would pay £10/20 a month for a IPTV provider that gave me an app on Apple TV that had Freeview and some premium channels such as sky1 and discovery etc.

    Anyway. I'm sure there are some fellow brits who share my frustration. For those in Europe or the US reading this and have some kind of integration like I'm describing, how much does it cost (I'll do the conversion)? Does it come with your internet service? Or your pay TV provider?

    HDMI 2.0 works with ATV 4K 2021?

    As what the title says, will HDMI 2.0 work with the 2021 version? I have a 2017 4K and I wanted to know if I should buy the new HDMI 2.1 for the new one that's coming. I don't really understand with it. Thanks for the future help!

    Are you supposed to get Apple TV+ free with an Apple Music student subscription? I see upcoming charges.

    I'm looking at my subscriptions and it says I have to start paying $5 a month in July for Apple TV+. I always thought this was supposed to be free with my student subscription to apple music?

    Add to 'My List' ?

    Hi everyone,

    I'd like to know if there's a way for me to save movies/TV shows to a playlist so that I can watch them later, like the 'My List' feature on Netflix ?

    Only way I found to do this is by actually downloading what I want to watch, which is annoying.

    Apple TV+ App Issues - Black and Purple Screen

    Is anyone encountering issues where while streaming the Apple TV+ App that the screen will randomly go half black and half purple? I'll still get sound and subtitles, and then randomly it'll switch back to the picture.

    I couldn't find anything about it, so looking for some help. TIA.

    HomePod won’t connect as a default speaker

    Please help! Until today, I've had HomePod (original) selected as a default output speaker and everything worked fine. Today, something went wrong and whenever I set HomePod as a default speaker, it does not pay anything…the TV tries to play something (video or audio) for two seconds and then it simply stops trying and nothing is happening. When I select my Sony TV speakers as output device, everything's normal. What is happening and can anyone help?

    I have a very specific issue with the Apple TV app on my Sony Bravia television using the Android Interface (850G). We will be watching a show and when one episode ends and goes to the next episode, the sound drops. The app then becomes very laggy, and even the video will get choppy and freeze.

    This issue ONLY happens on the Apple TV app - I can exit the app and go to any other app and the sound and video works perfectly.

    this issue also happens when air playing from my iPhone to the Bravia TV.

    currently the audio is run through my denon receiver, but the issue also happens when just using the regular TV speakers as well, so it's not an issue with the receiver.

    the only way to temporarily fix the issue is to completely unplug the TV and plug it back in. But then the sound will always drop again once we finish an episode and go to the next one.

    there must be some sort of handoff issue with the Bravia and the Apple TV App. It's also bizarre that the same issue happens when using AirPlay from my iPhone to the TV as well.

    I have tried resetting the Apple TV app, clearing cache, etc but nothing fixes the issue permanently.

    I recently pre-ordered an Apple TV 4K and will be interested to see if it happens with that too.

    If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, I would love to hear them.

    I am very frustrated about this, as we are watching many shows on Apple TV, but have to unplug and plug the TV back in to get the app's sound to work again.

    Anyone finding the volume of ATV content really low? [JBL Deep Bass soundbar]

    I just got my soundbar for my new projector and the sound on ATV/ATV+ is very low. At max volume on the soundbar, it's still not very loud at all. Can barely hear the dialogue.

    Episodes not showing up in iTunes?

    I have a season pass to a show through iTunes, and there was a new episode 2 days ago but it's not showing up in my library or in the iTunes Store. I got the usual notification that a new episode was available, and after some searching it's only visible in the "up next" section of Apple TV. The issue is, it wants me to sign in with some other app/tv subscription service to be able to watch it, even though I have a season pass through iTunes. Has anyone else had this issue or found a fix?
