| Posted: 08 May 2021 03:48 PM PDT I recently switched from a base MacBook Pro 2020 to M1 MacBook Air every thing else about it is good except the speakers I noticed a certain audio distortion/buzzing type issue in one of the speakers I have attached a video clip of the issue it happens when the speakers are at high volume and happens on certain type of media on media some its more common and on some its a bit faint and on some it isn't there. | Posted: 08 May 2021 06:49 AM PDT Due to a slight hasty decision, I ended up buying a MacBook Pro base version (intel) in November 2020. In just a few weeks M1 was announced. As each month passes and m1 becomes more normalised, I'm worried if intel will be dropped completely by Apple or not. I'm a student so Its important for me to know if my laptop will support me for a few years or not. When I got my MacBook I expected it to run for minimum 5 years, is that still possible? | MacBook Air 2014 docking station Posted: 08 May 2021 03:05 PM PDT Hello, I am looking to get a docking station for my MacBook Air 2014 so that I can use two external monitors. I was looking on Amazon and a lot of the docking stations just use usb 3.0 and the air 2014 has two of these ports. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried these and could recommend one. The alternative would be a thunderbolt docking station, but all the ones I see being sold are thunderbolt 3 while the Air 2014 only supports thunderbolt. Are they backwards compatible? | Brand new MacBook Air M1 battery Issue Posted: 08 May 2021 03:01 PM PDT Hi guys , So I bought my MacBook Air the day before yesterday and i am observing some battery issue , on the first day i had around 54% battery and so I charged as the battery went to 20% after it reached 100 I used it for an hour or 2 and it reached 80, I slept and in the morning the battery was still 80 so I continued to use it , probably for around 7 hours and then the battery went to 6% at night . today morning I charged it from 6-100 and then used it for 2.5 hours and observed a dip of 20. I only use it for basic stuff like surfing the net , Netflix , etc. I also observed that there is no battery dip when it's sleeping , like Have to charge once in two days but that's because the overall screen time for those two days is 7-8 hours , also one more to note is that my screen brightness is usually on the high side and sometimes it's fully high . is this normal for initial use or should I talk to Apple support . Or could there be some other issue? Maybe I'm just paranoid cause it's a brand new laptop and I'm just obsessed with jt , do let me know if I'm overthinking. Thanks [link] [comments]  | ||
| About a Macbook A1181 early 2008 Posted: 08 May 2021 02:31 PM PDT So I bought a few stated as not working MacBooks. Two of the three are here, one has just a backlight issue the rest is working fine. So the Black A1181 isn't booting at all. The white LED is the whole time on, that's it. I tried the method without the battery where the fans spin up etc but still no screen no boot sound. Also no keys working so I guess it isn't booting at all. I tried without any ram no beeping. The battery is fine and charges also hold it charge. Is there any way it isn't the logicboard? The owner just told me that it has suddenly stopped working the next day. | First MacBook what am I missing out on from the rest of the ecosystem? Posted: 08 May 2021 04:35 AM PDT So basically I've always strayed away from most things apple, though about 10 years ago when I was back at college I had an iPod nano for music and briefly had a dalliance with the iPhone 6s a while back. Now I recently grabbed an M1 MacBook Air as it's basically my ideal work machine really, super long battery life, really good performance, good form factor and without the fan it's obviously silent, it's what I've waited for for a long long while really. Now my question is I'm outside of the ecosystem, got an S20+ and Tab S7 for a phone and tablet for example, how much exactly am I missing out on without being in the rest of the ecosystem? I've tried googling about but haven't found too much out really, just want to weigh up the pros first and if there's enough of them I'll make some purchases! [link] [comments]  | ||

| can some one download mac os el Capitan and send it to me? coz im on windows Posted: 08 May 2021 10:59 AM PDT so i like to fix up old macs as a hobby and ive recently started a quest to work my way up to a brand new m1 mac by starting with a broken old mac and fixing to working order then selling it in order to buy a broken mac from a few years ahead and repeat until i work my way up to a brand new m1 mac or possibly a m2 because this might take some time and so ive started my quest with a mba from 2010 and i've fixed most of the problems with it and need to install an os but thanks to the fuck anyone who isn't in the eco system attitude apple has i cant find any copies of el capitan any where online (and i ain't fucking about, i went to the 3rd page of google ) and since i dont have a mac i've come here to ask this sub full of mac users to download it for me from the app store and send it to me maybe over google drive or some thing p.s. every one should learn how to fix tech because it is a superpower and a hobby that pays for itself plus its easyer to learn then you think i mean im only 14 and i can do it [link] [comments]  | ||
