So this is me confirming that Telegram is the real problem, and not some weird thing my phone does. I've only really experienced this since getting my iPhone 12 in December 2020, so may also be an issue with iOS 13.x.x onwards. My phone seems to vibrate for other messaging apps (Messenger, Signal), just not Telegram. Also, my Apple Watch S4 doesn't seem to vibrate either. I've clean reset both of the devices and installed only Telegram, but still got no vibrations. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 08 May 2021 03:05 PM PDT When I try to connect to the internet on another device it always says that my phones personal hotspot is on, but I never turned it on in the first place. I tried restarting my phone by shutting it off and on again and again repeatedly but never work. After 2 days my 4G almost ran out which lead to a concern that people managed to get into it somehow, any thoughts of how to solve this? It would be great if you could reply. Thank you. I have only recently started having this issue and can't find anywhere to turn them off. Even when I listen to things on mute the notification activated and becomes louder for some reason. | iPhone 12 mini not using WiFi6 (5Ghz band) Posted: 08 May 2021 11:01 AM PDT Hello, I am new to IOS from android, and I've noticed that my iPhone 12 mini is only using 2.4Ghz band, I find it odd since my iPad Air 2020 is using the 5Ghz band. My router is an Asus TUF-AX3000, using dual band smart connect, all my devices including the iPad are on 5GHz and is on the same range as my iPhone 12 mini from the router. iOS 14.5.1 Edit: My mistake, In my understanding, WiFi 6 allows me to use both bands, I just wanted to use 5Ghz because 2.4Ghz is saturated in my area. It's getting very smudgy. iPhone is still new, November 2020, oleo phobic coating seems to be still intact (water drops test). Is this normal? I wiped my iPhone screen multiple times with 70% isopropylalcohol on my work due to COVID 19. Maybe 7 times over a period of 2 months. Is it possible it's because of that? Or is it normal. I restarted my phone several times, I restarted network settings, checked for any carrier updates, nothing works. Also I would rather resolve this issue without resetting the phone, because I have bad experiences with, and I'm scared of losing my photos. Thanks for any help. [link] [comments]  |
| Can the phone still be repaired or it’s not worth it? Posted: 08 May 2021 07:58 AM PDT Hi all! My iPhone 7 Plus fell on the floor and the display got broken, the phone turned off and is not turning on anymore. I assumed the issue was not in the display but far worse... since phone is dead. Today I went to the repair shop for the diagnose (not Apple certified, but still a decent store). They had the phone for few hours and called back saying it cannot be repaired. When I talked to them they said they tried changing display and battery - nothing worked. As far as I understood the issue is in damaged logic board. The worker spoke German (I'm in Germany) and since I'm not great at German, he explained me in English saying it's "brain" of the phone that is the issue. When I asked is it worth going to Apple Repair or other certified shops, he said I can't try to do so. Now I'm not sure if it's worth it - I assume damaged logic board might be pretty expensive to repair? Plus the damaged display (the display alone costs €200). I had this phone since November 2016 and until yesterday, was pretty satisfied and did not plan to upgrade this year. I was charging it 3 times a day (24 hours) and screen time was around 7-8 hours a day. The phone wasn't slow but for the last couple of months I noticed the "slow"/delayed opening of camera (when I needed to take a photo or video it was a black image at first for the 5-10 seconds and then everything was back to normal). Memory of the phone is 256 GB. It was around 70% full. Phone fell many times but had absolutely no physical damages (always a case and screen glass protector). As for the back up, I've been using iClous and all my data is safe. What is your opinion guys? Should I spend at least €200 for the repair (or more like €500 if it's indeed logic board)? Or it's not worth it in 2021 given that the phone was in use since 2016? And in your opinion what can possibly be damaged? Is it indeed the logic board? Thank you so much! [link] [comments]  |

The first it happened a few years ago with my iPhone 5c (it was so long ago I am not sure of the version, probably 9 something). I was holding it by the edges and all of a sudden I saw on the screen that it was calling a person in my contacts. I had no desire to talk to her (she was a business associate of a friend I had no reason to talk to, or even think of for that matter) so I stopped it, but her phone had already started ringing so she called me back. The second time was more recent and happened with my iPhone SE 2020 (version was the immediately previous one to the current 14.5.1). I was talking on my phone in my car — hands free, via Bluetooth, the phone was in my purse — when all of a sudden the conversation I was having with somebody else was cut off and I hear the voice mail announcement of the person described above! (The person I was talking to said it was like the call just dropped on her end. She was on her landline.) I was shocked and could only leave a message that I hadn't meant to call her and to ignore the call. Later I just removed her from my contacts hoping that would solve this bizarre issue. If anyone was wondering she is not the first name in my contacts. I just don't know what to make of this. Has it happened to anyone else? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 08 May 2021 04:42 AM PDT When my phone rings, it sometimes rings really quietly and sometimes it is completely silent. The thing is, it doesn't always do that. Sometimes it rings completely fine but the problem happens frequently enough that it is causing problems for me. A lot of other friends of mine who have an iphone have been experiencing the exact same problem and we all have different models. (I have Iphone 11pro, friends have 6 ,6s, 7) Overall, we have experienced this problem for nearly a year now. I have gone through dozens of troubleshootings but none have worked. Here is what I have done: -Toggle the ringer switch -turn up the volume -turn off bluetooth -turn off do not disturb -install the newest ios updates and app updates -reset all settings -check the call forwarding setting -check for headphones and cleaned the charging hole/heaphone jack -restart the phone -reset the phone -toggle airplane mode How can I and my friends make our phones ring again? It was a gift from my sister working in Singpore so I assumed she bought it there. It was fully functional for 2.5 yrs until an awful thing happened. I left my phone on the kitchen counter for 2 hours (from what i can remember) after booking a food delivery via Grab App. When i went to use it, it was over the border hot and the phone is slowing down and finally draining the life out of my battery. I let it cool down for awhie, but then after thatI can't seem to charge it anymore. It won't even show the battery icon when you press the side button when it's dead battery. It's just pure black. | Audio recording distortion after 15 seconds with Rode Me-L microphone Posted: 08 May 2021 11:52 AM PDT I have a brand new iPhone 12 running iOS 14.5.1 and a newish Rode Me-L microphone. After 15 seconds of recording the audio begins to distort and crackle. I can replicate the issue consistently across different apps. I would suspect the Rode, but it works perfectly well on a iPhone 7 also updated to 14.5.1. and worked great with my iPhone XR running 14.4 that I just upgraded away from. However, it exhibits the same behavior on an iPhone 11. Recordings with the built-in mic do not have the same issue. The fact that the issue appears consistently at 15 seconds across different phones leads me to believe that it is a OS issue, although not entirely consistent with the iPhone 7 data. I have tried resetting the iPhone 12 with no results. My troubleshooting has led me to believe that the mic is fine, and the phone hardware is fine - it is OS issue related to using an external lightning-bus microphone on a later model iPhone running 14.5.1 specifically. I last recorded using my earphone mic 4 days ago, but now, all of a sudden, it refuses to record from anywhere except the phone itself. It clearly recognises there are earphone plugged in, as the music does play from them rather than the speakers, but I suddenly can't record from the mic. | Some photos disappeared from iTunes backup? Posted: 08 May 2021 07:48 AM PDT Hi all, I was trying to reset my iPhone as new, but then restore app data and other things from an iCloud backup - including photos. I created an iTunes backup well before this just in case of anything messing up with this method. However, when I restored from the iCloud backup, a significant portion of my camera roll was missing. Around 8000 photos and videos were whittled down to about 5000. When I got worried and decided to just restore from my iTunes backup (which has never failed me before) the same thing happened! A good 3000 images are simply not there. I haven't really had a deep look to see which images have disappeared, but a quick scroll doesn't show any glaring gaps (most recent and oldest pics seem to be there).
