| How reliable is Parallels for running windows on M1 Macbook Posted: 15 May 2021 10:49 AM PDT I am in the market for a new laptop since I will be headed to college in the fall and I would really like to purchase a M1 MacBook Air for school. My issue with this is that the school says it is required that our laptops are able to run Windows in order to run many of the programs in the engineering classes, and I am aware M1 MacBooks are not able to use BootCamp due to the M1 architecture. To solve this I have found a software called Parallels which runs Windows in a VM on the M1 chip and I am looking into purchasing this instead of a Windows laptop. My big question is, Does anybody know if Parallels is reliable to run professional Windows software such as Solidworks and other programs or will I be better off just purchasing a Windows laptop for this use? Posted: 15 May 2021 10:38 AM PDT I plugged in Samsung's adapter charger (that came with my Samsung S10e), which is 15 watts, into my M1 MBA. Unfortunately it shows up only as 5 watts. | Switching between Mac - PC using the Dell U2720Q 4k Posted: 15 May 2021 07:38 AM PDT Hey! I recently bought a Dell U2720Q 4k monitor to use with my Macbook Pro from 2019. It works fantastic. However, I also have a Windows computer which I'd love to use with the same screen and setup. Right now I have my keyboard connected to my Dell monitor and it works perfect to use my macbook. However when I turn on my PC it doesn't seem to work that way. My macbook is connected using USB C - USB C to my Dell monitor. I tried pluggin in the USB C - USB3 to my PC as I thought that would "give power" to my keyboard or whatever, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I guess the mouse should not really be an issue since it's bluetooth, so for now I'm more concerned on how to get my keyboard working without having to replace cables all the time. Posted: 15 May 2021 03:36 AM PDT I use Chrome for watching YouTube, browsing social media and for teams meetings averaging from 3 to 4 hours/day (4 days/week). I use Photoshop regularly as well to draw and edit. I'm looking to buy a Macbook with 512GB space but am still unsure on whether I should get a MBA or MBP. As for the processor, I've heard good things about M1 so I'm currently considering either M1 MBA or MBP with 16gb of RAM. [link] [comments]  | ||

I can't wait a week or so to let the smell go away as I need it instantly Background: After making mind of going caseless but with a sleeve this time, I bought a TOMTOC 360' sleeve, seems amazing ..however the smell inside is a bit strange, probably the smell of chemicals or as someone has described the smell as mould in the reviews ..
