| What are the chances of being granted a refund? Posted: 12 May 2021 09:43 PM PDT I activated a free trial for 3 months of Apple Arcade on February 13, and it said the renewal date would be May 13. I was intending to cancel my subscription at the end of the day on May 12 to avoid being charged. I assume I would've been charged the monthly subscription fee at the beginning of the day, 12AM on May 13 if I forgot to cancel, however I was charged the evening before (about 5PM on the 12th). I submitted a refund request right away (literally a couple minutes after the charge was authorized...I have instant credit card transaction alerts set up). I confirmed with Apple Support live chat that my subscription is canceled and my refund request is pending with a decision to be made within 48 hours. I feel that I have a valid reason for the refund, and I did not expect to be charged the evening before the renewal date. I am looking for other people's experiences with getting refunds to see how likely I am to get a refund, and if not approved automatically by the system, can I talk to someone at Apple Support who can issue a refund to me? On the live chat they referred me to the automated report a problem site and were not able to guarantee a refund. What I'm confused about, is why they charged my credit card before the renewal date. My last subscription free trial was Apple News+ which I canceled at 9PM the day before the renewal date without being charged the fee for renewal. If anyone was wondering, the reason why I didn't cancel earlier is because the subscription ends immediately when you cancel the free trial, forfeiting the remainder of the free subscription usage period. Going forward, though, I will be sure cancel 2 days before the renewal date to avoid this situation happening again. TL;DR: I was charged the monthly fee for Apple Arcade the day before the renewal date after using a 3-month free trial and requested a refund immediately after being charged. [link] [comments]  |

| Unlock iPhone 8 Plus w/ dead screen? Posted: 12 May 2021 10:18 PM PDT I dropped my iPhone 8 Plus tonight and now the touchscreen is almost entirely unusable. Touch ID is no longer an option and I can't unlock my phone to do one last backup before replacing it (I had already been planning to replace it, just not this soon without warning.) Is there any way to work around a broken screen? Like something with a plug-n-play mouse or bluetooth keyboard, screen mirroring on my laptop, literally anything that I can DIY? It's 2 hours to the nearest Apple Store and I have a feeling they're just going to say they have to ship it off for repairs and can't do anything in store. [link] [comments]  |

| How long for an in store refund to post? Posted: 12 May 2021 08:48 PM PDT Hello. I bought a device in an Apple store on Sunday (4 days ago) and returned it Monday (3 days ago) for a refund. I got my receipt emailed to me for both the purchase and the refund. The refund receipt says "refunded to original tender". Right now I am only seeing the original purchase in my bank statement, but no refund has posted and nothing pending. Anyone have experience with this? How long should I wait until I start to worry? I know my surge protector is not faulty, because i tested it on two surge protectors, both make the same noise and no other plugged in devices makes any weird noise. [link] [comments]  |
| Mac keeps disconnecting from Airpods Posted: 12 May 2021 08:44 PM PDT I don't know why, but all the time I find myself having to reconnect to my Airpod Pros. I'll go to use my phone while watching a video or participating in a Google Meet on my Mac and the Airpods will disconnect from my Mac and connect to my phone. Is there a way to change this so that when I connect to my laptop my Airpods stay connected to my laptop unless I manually switch to my phone? [link] [comments]  |

I don't have notification sounds or vibration on, and I believe this only started happening recently but I don't think that I changed any of the settings. It only does this when my phone is locked. I have an iPhone 7, not sure if that's important. Does anyone know why it's doing this and how I can change it? Please let me know if any more info is needed! [link] [comments]  |

For almost all of my apps, I'm able to use Touch ID to log in. However, the App Store app makes me actually enter my Apple ID password every time I want to install a new app. What's more, if I go to "Settings > Passwords," I don't see any stored password for Apple nor for the App Store listed on my device. Is there a way to set my App Store to accept Touch ID in lieu of typing in a password every time? With the new Pro coming out with the M1 chip I'm wondering how long the A14 chip will be supported for and therefore if getting the Pro means longer support? I'm probably not going to look to use the tablet for anything heavy etc so the Pro may be wasted on me? Also if looking to replace a laptop, does the split screen on a 11" screen look too squished/ uncomfortable to read? [link] [comments]  |
| Issues with making phonecalls, iOS 14.3 Posted: 12 May 2021 06:20 PM PDT Howdy! This is admittedly my first time on this sub, so I apologize for any issues with the post. Please let me know. I have an iPhone 7 that I (relatively) recently updated to iOS 14.3. Today, when trying to make a phone call for the first time in a while, realized that the call button in the phone app could be pressed, but the actual call would not go out. I further tested this by trying to call from the Contacts app. Nothing. Tried to make a FaceTime call to any number at all. No dice. I can receive calls of any kind just fine. I have attempted:
Next thing I'm gonna try here in a second is updating the software, unless cautioned not to do so, of course. I can't figure out how to update my carrier settings, which I suppose might be it. I would greatly appreciate any advice. [link] [comments]  |

| My phone charger is messed up. Posted: 12 May 2021 02:12 PM PDT My phone charging port works but the charger only goes pet of the way in. Because of this if the charger gets just slightly bumped it stops charging. I have tried to get a toothpick and pull out any fuzz but it did not fix it. Any solutions? [link] [comments]  |
