I am italian, but I always used the US layout without a deadkey. I will explain. This layout is perfect for writing my language because it allows me to write all the accents even in capital letters, thing that is not possible in the italian keyboard layout. Unfortunately using this layout requires a little fix because italian language often uses apostrophes, that I have on Windows but I can't install in macOS. I need to create two deadkeys:

| Posted: 18 Apr 2021 10:21 PM PDT Hi, so I noticed when I set my fan to Low (about 20%), istat menu sometimes go all the way to 0 then back to 20%. It likes it was turned off then on again. It happens more profound with higher fan mode when you actually hear the fan loud and then quite then back to loud. This behaviour is not consistent but noticeable enough. Anyone has the same problems or know how to fix this? I have tried to reinstall the app and MacOs as well. Thank you for your help [link] [comments]  | ||

| macOS Big Sur turning on automatically when display is open Posted: 18 Apr 2021 08:06 PM PDT since upgrading to bigsur ive noticed that i have to physically close my macbook (pro 2018) in order for it to stay shut down without restarting automatically a few seconds later. is this a common feature of the os? anyone know how to fix? it would be ideal so i could clean the display while the machine is completely turned off. | MacOS will not install on MBP 2018 Posted: 18 Apr 2021 06:21 PM PDT I recently inherited a MBP A1989. The OS was erased on it and I can get into recovery mode just fine. First I went to the most obvious place, where it gave me the option to install Mojave. I tried that but it gets to about 30 seconds remaining and says there's an error and the installation cannot continue. I tried resetting the SMC, the PRAM and NVRAM, I went into terminal and set the correct time and date. Still nothing. Since this is my only Mac, I managed to get Big Sur installer on a USB drive from a VM on my PC. When I try booting from USB, it tells me the software needs to update. The progress bar moves until halfway, then stops for 5 minutes and tells me it's not able to update. I tried going to the Startup Disk menu and nothing appears. It wants me to select an account but there are none so I can't continue. I have a feeling this computer doesn't want me to use it. What am I doing wrong? [link] [comments]  | ||

Currently running High Sierra and everything is okay-ish except for the fact that some of the programs start dropping support for 10.13. I was thinking on updating but kinda hesitant because I'm afraid of it becoming slower and unusable. How good is the lates release compared to High Sierra? Is there a smart way I can do this without remoting in? Like using the remote machine, but actually do everything on my MacBook from coding to debugging with chrome preview of reacts app e.g.?
