Can we talk about the insane miniature webpages which Safari uses as Tabs in the Touch Bar? The Touch Bar can obviously show favicons, since that is what it does when you open up a new tab and it shows the favicons of your favorites. Then why on earth would they choose to use useless miniature webpages to display your tabs? Ive looked around and there doesn't seem to be any way to change this, I'm just here to rant.

MacBook Air M1 Backlight

Im new user wuith the Mac, thinking about the perfection of design, at night I was analyzing the beautiful keyboard and found an imperfection that doesn't get away of mind :). The esc hey is not illiminated totally, I don't know if its an imperfection of my Mac or in general production. Anyone can confirm this? I know is dumb xD

I am somewhat turning my MacBook Pro into an Apple TV alternate (because, hey, it can do it). Considering macOS's Fast User Switching, I was wondering if it might be more beneficial, in terms of CPU/RAM, to dedicate certain apps and extensions to separate User Accounts.

Additional info: I am using BetterTouchTools to (hopefully) tailor certain peripherals to various scenarios. For anyone familiar with BTT, I am exploring the idea of creating various Presets and assigning them to a specific shortcut on my main User Account OR creating a separate "Media" User Account and creating BTT Presets for that User Account, thus creating an "Apple TV" User Account.

PS BTT allows you to customize the Siri Remote on a per-app basis and I'm so excited to see what it can do!

Hi, I'm saving some money to buy the MBA with M1 (or wait until Apple releases a 14 inch machine). How can I see which iOS apps can run on the Mac, or more precisely, which apps are allowed by the developer?

I am particularly curious to see if I will b enable to run the iPad OS version of Zoom, given it has yet to be optimized for Apple silicon (it isn't even optimized for intel lol) as well as Slack because I am not a fan of Electron and native apps (swift apps) tend to run smoother than JS apps.

Trying to Delete Razer Synapse fully

Ive done the unintall for razer synapse but there are still files from it on my computer such as

Catalina: external drive mount point adding a "1" after name. Causing problems with Backblaze .

Hello and happy new year to everyone.

I'm having a problem backing up my external Data drive to Backblaze because the mount point has changed fromvolumes/foobar BU1 to volumes/foobar BU1 1. Renaming the volume in Disk Utility to any other name the mount point is mimicked, for example drive name "foobar BU5" results in a mount point of volumes/foobar BU5 but renaming the column back to BU1 always adds the extra "1" at the end of the mount point. Backblaze now wants to re-backup the whole drive (2TB+). I suspect this is happening because I cloned the contents of a 2TB drive (Foobar BU1) to a new 4TB (random name), ejected the original, and renamed the new drive Foobar BU1. Somehow the system kept the previous drive's details? I'm not too sure how it all works.

I'd like to be able to change the 4TB drive's mount point back to volumes/foobar BU1 so Backblaze won't re-backup all the cloned data again.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Tuxera NTFS 2019 issue saving with Microsoft Word.

When I try editing a Word document and saving it, I get the following prompts, this and this and it doesn't save the edits. It also does not let me use the Save As option, I get the same prompts. The only way I can save docs is by saving them to the desktop and copying them on the flash disk. But saving any kind of file to the flash disk has no problems. Does anybody have the same issue? How do I fix this?

Also, are there any better alternatives either paid or free?

High router ping in Macbook pro 2019

Hey guys, so I have an Asus 3200 router and when I communicate with my other devices on the same network I'm getting a high latency spike every 10-20 seconds. It's so annoying to have such a computer with lag when my iPhone and raspberry pi ping just fine. Any idea how I can fix this? I've been reading that the spikes are produced when the laptop scans for other networks, but my phone does this too and it doesn't have this problem.

Things I tried:

- Restore router firmware

- Restore macos (Big Sur)

- Disable location services

- Quit all background apps

- Wifi logs don't show any specific app

Any help would be much appreciated, this is an example when I'm getting ping lag when doing 10 pings per second.

compiling application from source code

I have downloaded source code and dependnecies for an application which no longer runs correctly with catalinas new security features (manuskript), and while I can run the executable in /bin/manuskript, I also created an alias to run the appliacation off of this, I woulud like to actually compile this into an application I can run more easily and smoothly, there is a makefile and running make says nothing to be done, how would I go about doing this?
