| Shortcuts app won't let me use apps? Posted: 15 Jan 2021 10:54 PM PST I just updated to the newest version of IOS and obviously the first thing I wanted to do was customize my home screen. Everything was working completely fine at first besides the incredibly INCREDIBLY annoying little notification we get every time we open an app (which I disabled in screen time but still didn't work), but now I'm having another issue that has really started annoying me. When I open an app, the notification pops up as usual, but now when I open apps instead of the check mark it always shows, it's stuck on a permanent pause button type thing. I can try clicking it but it does absolutely nothing! I couldn't find anything online about this happening so idk, maybe my phone is incredibly stupid. The one thing it always says though is "Safari | Shortcuts" at the top. Had no clue what it meant so I went through settings and couldn't find anything on it--I tried deleting my safari shortcut because I thought it could have a link. Yes, I restarted many times but it still does this consistently. [link] [comments]  |

| Color Distortion on New iPhone 12 Pro Posted: 15 Jan 2021 04:28 PM PST So I just received my iPhone 12 Pro last night and set it up, but after further inspection and comparison with my previous iPhone X, I found that the color on the 12 is distorted through leaning green on the tint spectrum, while also having weaker highlights and possibly lower contrast. I have the same background for both phones so it is very easy to notice and it is apparent on any application. I have looked through the settings and they're all the same from what I have gathered, especially in the display and accessibility sections, so I'm not sure what may be causing it. Perhaps the backlighting for the 12 screen is just different and is causing this change, or maybe there is a setting I missed that might help this? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 15 Jan 2021 09:56 PM PST I have a practically brand new iPhone 12 mini (got it for Christmas), I haven't dropped it, I haven't dunked it into water, the phone is perfectly fine and normal. The only problem I have is when I play a video in my photos app, reddit, and Instagram the audio is horrible, it sounds like someone put a staticky robot voice sound filter over everything. The weird thing is audio on YouTube is perfectly fine, no staticky robo remix to be found. It seems to be every app but YouTube that plays video with this weird garbled static audio. Posted: 15 Jan 2021 08:21 PM PST I just found an iPhone I lost 2 years ago and I'm trying to retrieve some pictures that were not included with iCloud, but I have trouble remembering the passcode. I have tried 10 times now, what will happen when the 1 hour is up and I try again and possibly fail? I have the erase data option disabled/turned off, so that won't happen. | Significant battery health decline iPhone 11 Pro Posted: 15 Jan 2021 07:22 PM PST Hi all! I recently bought an iPhone 11 Pro 256gb (currently in IOS 14.2) from someone in November 2020. The seller bought the phone in March 2020 (brand new), and handed it to me with 93% battery health. As of now, 2.5 months later, my battery health has declined to 84%, which is a massive decline and really quite shocking. I am seeing the lagging affects from low battery health already. I am using my phone at an average of 8 hours a day, which is less than when I had my iPhone 8 Plus, which only went down to 78% battery health after more than two years of usage. I was told the iPhone 11 Pro battery was significantly better, which is why I upgraded in the first place, but now I'm regretting it. Does anyone know why this is happening? A 9% battery health decline in 2.5 months is just terrible. I have recently been charging my phone to 80%, and letting it go down to 20%, as I've been told that can help. I'm having problems with the call quality on my phone. It is not great when calling iPhones but it is especially bad when I call Androids. I can hardly hear what the person on the other end is saying, and they cannot hear me either. I've been googling and other people have this same problem but I haven't found any solutions. | XR stopped alerting me to calls or texts on silent and ring Posted: 15 Jan 2021 02:29 PM PST My phone has stopped ringing and vibrating with notifications for anything, with text, calls, and outlook reminders being most important to me that I'm regularly missing. This happens on silent and ring. I'll go an hour without looking at my phone and then all of a sudden I'll have a lot of notifications. I've tried toggling on/off the appropriate settings, restarted my phone, and ensuring DND is off. Still nothing. My keyboard clicks work and sounds for things like sending an email still work. My alarms work, too. Kicker: If I'm actively using my phone, I get the vibrations or ring sounds! It's only when it's not being used. Not sure what the issue is. Any ideas?? TIA! [link] [comments]  |

| Everything I delete from my phone is permanently stuck in my “other” storage Posted: 15 Jan 2021 05:08 PM PST I recently ran out of space on my phone and deleted around 50 gigabytes of images. I removed these images from my recently deleted after clearing them out with the Google Photos app. My iphone storage is still completely full. My "photos" storage is 50 gigabytes smaller, but my "other" category in storage has suddenly grown by 50 gigabytes. It is like the photos are still stuck in my phone. It has been a week. What could have caused this? I even deleted several apps and all of my browsing history/caches, and each amount of space I clear just gets added to the total space of the "Other" category. How do I fix this? I can barely use my phone now because it doesn't have the space to load anything. For specific information: I have an iPhone 7 plus, software version 13.6 [link] [comments]  |

| New to iPhone but having screen and camera issues Posted: 15 Jan 2021 04:33 PM PST Hey all, I've always been a big time Android user for 10+ years and specifically Samsung for the last 6 and a half. Decided I would try the iPhone 12 Pro and so far I like it. However I am having a couple big hardware issues. The first has to do with the camera in slow motion. At 120 fps it is fine but when I switch to 240 fps I get flickering issues. Before I even hit record, the brightness is pulsating, going from bright to dim and the immediately bright again. No fast, but definitely noticeable. But when I take the video and play it back, it flickers like motherfucker to the point I am sure some would get seizures. I had a cousin of mine take some 120 and 240 fps videos on his 12 Pro and send them to me and there was no issue in his video (it's possible that iMessage may compress the video tho to hide the fps difference, I am not sure). The second may be more of a personal issue. My old Galaxy S10e and even my S9+ were more cool screens, while my iPhone seems to be warmer. I have true tone and night shift both off. But I compared it to my brothers iPhone Xr and it was noticeable (altho I do understand they are different displays, still seems odd the 12 Pro would be warmer in tone). [link] [comments]  |
| Iphone 6s Plus strange wandering shadow Posted: 15 Jan 2021 11:51 AM PST I have 2 Iphone 6s Plus. The first one has a shadow on the top left of the display, meaning it is darker than the surrounding area and the display itself is overall (meaning everywhere but especially in the top left) darker than the display of the second Iphone. When I swapped the first display into the second one, it worked perfectly. However, if I wanted to swap the second display into the first (which I wanted to do because of higher storage) the shadow strangely wandered into the complete right side of the phone (top right to bottom right, keeping the same brightness like the worse one). How is that possible, what is damaged and what can I do, to repair this? It cant be the display right? If it is the phone, why is the shadow wandering? Any help is appreciated =) [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone 11 Pro Max Battery Health After 3 months Posted: 15 Jan 2021 02:28 PM PST My iPhone's battery health just went down to 99% after just 3 months of use and I'm really frustrated by it. I've been super careful with how I charge my phone (using a 5watt charger, not letting it drop to less than 40% and never charging it to 100%, etc.) and still the battery health has been affected... The worst part of it is that I also own an iPhone XR that i charge with a wireless charger and I don't treat particularly well (battery wise) and its battery health is still at 100% after almost a year of heavy use. Am I doing something wrong with my 11 Pro Max? Should I complain to Apple (I have AC+ so I wonder if I'll get a free battery replacement)? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 15 Jan 2021 01:24 PM PST I've had issues with Apple Pay not working since upgrading to my 12 Mini - Usually nothing happens, though the payment terminal sometimes makes a noise and errors. I thought this issue was exclusive to Apple Pay but I have just tried reading an NFC tag (Yubikey) and can't get any response. I tested this on my partner's 12 Pro and it works immediately. I don't believe there's any configuration options within control centre/settings anymore but does anyone have any suggestions before I raise a request with Apple? I really don't want to have to send the phone in for repairs as we're in lockdown in the UK so I would have to post the device. [link] [comments]  |
| iMessages delay coming through on phone Posted: 15 Jan 2021 01:03 PM PST Hi, Sometimes iMessages come through on my Mac but not my phone, but later messages come through okay which were sent minutes later and show on both devices. I have messages in iCloud turned on so I'm not sure if this is something to do with it, but it's annoying when there's a reply in an iMessage group to what someone's said and I have to go on my Mac to see what the original message said. Is there any fix for this? Generally the message will show on my phone about 15 minutes later in the chat but it would be good if it could pick up the messages at the same time. Thank you! | Clearing data from an iPhone XR before returning it Posted: 15 Jan 2021 11:40 AM PST Hi, about a week ago I purchased an iPhone XR at Walmart and decided I wasn't happy with the purchase and would rather get back that $350 and upgrade to an 11 instead whenever I saw fit (I have a perfectly functioning 7 right now). Now I want to remove all the data from the XR before returning it. I googled how to do this and got pretty straightforward looking instructions, but I'm not as tech savvy as many people my age and, long story short, I lost lots of videos about a year and a half ago as a result of a slip-up with iCloud that I went into without fully understanding it.
