| Telegram not working on iPhone?? Posted: 21 Nov 2020 12:45 AM PST I am using telegram to sent videos to my wife when she is not around and I cannot use airdrop. She is also an iPhone user. But what I noticed every time is that when my screen locks the video sending stops. So every time i want to sent a video and keep my screen on , i have to go to settings and adjust my screen auto lock to never and manually lock my screen when the video sending finishes or i have to tap my screen all the time to keep my screen on.. when i tried the same thing with a cheap Samsung phone , everything was smooth , screen on or off , it didn't matter, and the video was uploading smoothly with the screen on or off. Anybody know how to fix this or any solution? I can just adjust my screen auto lock to never every time i sent a video with telegram, but that's hardly a solution.. any help please?? | Posted: 20 Nov 2020 07:02 PM PST So I'm sitting here reading manga and I noticed my battery was kinda low so I waited 2 more hours and my battery gone up by like 3% so I'm like wtf!? Anyway I reset my phone and I still had the same problem so I looked up wtf was going on and all I got was to reset your phone or my phone was f*cked up, and it's not so I Switched my chargers to a off brand one and it was charging but I was losing battery at the same time! I took the one with charger, was it a good choice? I don't mind about fast charge, also, if I took the "new packaging one" without the charger, I would had to buy an extra charger. | Concerned about hacking/virus from a weird website Posted: 20 Nov 2020 05:27 PM PST I apologize for making this a novel but I couldn't shorten it. So I have an iPhone XR running on IOS 14.2. I don't have any profiles installed. Last night I used the iPhone feature that when you slide from the top to bottom of the screen it lets you search things ( I'm sorry I don't know the correct name for it). In the search bar I wanted to type the word Paloma for a drink recipe but accidentally put pakoma instead. I admit that it was a stupid move clicking on something without paying attention. I accidentally clicked on a website with the domain of www . pakoma. com ( I put spaces so it wouldn't link) Safari opened up a page that asked me to do a security check to prove I'm not a robot in order to allow me to use the site. The paged was even titled Attention! Cloudfare. I closed the page and deleted my website data and history. This is however when I made a second mistake. I went back to Safari and searched the name again just to see what exactly I had clicked on and the results showed that supposedly it was a website for an Australian fax company that works with businesses. I found this weird since if it was a fax business why would it need me to prove I'm not a robot and that it showed my IP. Fearing the worst I erased my iPhone and restored from an older back up. However I feel like something messed up with it. My files app lost storage some of its documents and data. I later looked the website up again with my laptop and the only thing that came out was the same as my phone but all that came out was the word Pakoma with the domain above and it didn't mention anything about faxing. I find it really weird that google brought up two different results for the same search on different devices. This is what leads me to believing my phone is hacked or has malware.If anyone wants to see what I'm talking about when you type Pakoma on the home screen search feature it brings up the website with a picture of a red square with a white hand and the letters pa written on the palm. Looking back at it the picture makes me even more nervous about the whole situation. I already restored my phone from an older backup but I'm afraid it still could have a virus. Should I restore my phone again? Also if anyone knows what the heck that website is can you please tell me. Thank you. [link] [comments]  |

| iOS 14.2 SMS issue on iPhone 11 Posted: 20 Nov 2020 06:00 AM PST So I need some help, since I've updated to 14.2 on my iPhone 11, I've been experiencing issues with messages sending, the text would take a while to send and then give me an error saying it couldn't be sent. However, the person I text receives my message 3 times. I was hoping to just wait for the update to fix it but ive just seen that iOS 14.2.1 is only for the iPhone 12 series of phones so if anyone could provide any help it would be great. | Posted: 20 Nov 2020 06:36 AM PST The solution was.. "This is what you have to do. Repeat, this is ONLY for an iphone that is able to be turned on an all you get is the usb plug saying plug into itunes screen (the Recovery Mode screen). This process is for Windows. I think some MAC users will be able to follow it also, but the instructions are for PC users. 1.) Turn your iphone on if it isn't already. 2.) Load up itunes (make sure you have the latest Itunes. I would even suggest that you uninstall your itunes if it isn't up to date, through Control Panel Add/Remove programs, and then go to the Itunes website and download the latest version.) 3.) When you load up Itunes, it will tell you that your iphone needs to be updated or restored. Just click okay or cancel to get that dialog box out of the way. Then just minimize the itunes for right now. 4.) Download the LATEST firmware for your correct model of iphone. Just choose your model from the drop down boxes. Once you've chosen everything, click the Download button. It will produce a link. Just click the link and take note of where that file downloads on your computer. 5.) Once the download finishes, go back to Itunes...and you'll have two buttons to click... Restore and Update. VERY IMPORTANT: Hold down the SHIFT key and click UPDATE (SHIFT + UPDATE) . 6.) A box will pop up to search for a file. Navigate to the folder that you downloaded the firmware file in step 4 to. And choose that file. 7.) Then Itunes will tell you things like Blah blah..this file might not work, if your phone can't be updated it will have to be restored....blah blah. Just click OK through all of that and start the update. 8.) Your phone will update to the latest firmware after a pretty lengthy process, maybe about 30-40 mins. Could be longer, but it will work. Don't get anxious, don't unplug the iphone because you think it's frozen or something. There will be times when it seems like it's not doing anything. Just sit back, put on a netflix movie, and continue to monitor the process from time to time. Soon your iphone will turn back on...and everything will be updated and back to normal. BACK IT UP IMMEDIATELY 🙂 I hope this works for a lot of you out there, and I hope it gives those of you like me who felt there was no hope.......a little bit of relief. " [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone screen ‘melt’ and crash Posted: 20 Nov 2020 03:36 AM PST Hello, I currently use an iPhone 8 plus with iOS 14.2. Purchased it for myself when it was brand new from the apple store in the US. Occasionally my screen either gets black lines or the frame that's currently being displayed gets really blurry. While either of these problems happen, the phone becomes unresponsive and the screen brightness keeps going down until it shuts down and with it the phone shuts down and then it restarts. While its restarting sometimes it gets the same problem with the frame of the white background and black Apple logo until one of the times it successfully reaches the home screen. However it may still 'crash' as described right after or it might take a while. What caused the issue? I honestly don't know. Maybe a fall? It all began 2 weeks ago but I don't remember dropping my phone. Or maybe updating to iOS 14. I tried doing the force-restart (press vol up, release then press vol down, release and then hold the power button) but while it's on the crash loop it doesn't work. Now, it will allow full access during downtime despite those settings. How do I fix this? It used to lock anyone not on the list but now it gives my son 24/7 access to everyone or no one of I remove it from always allowed.
