| Posted: 05 Nov 2020 05:44 PM PST Greetings! My mother-in-law recently switched to an iPhone XR from an iPhone 7. Since switching, she has been unable to make calls to people when trying to call from her contact list. In addition, all local calls are showing up international. I did some initial remote troubleshooting by following this thread. The last entry stated that simply deleting the '+' from the beginning of the phone number in Settings > Phone was enough to fix the issue, however she is unable to edit the number. Any other ideas, or should we take this back to the US Cellular store and have them check the SIM/etc? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 05 Nov 2020 11:39 PM PST I'm sure this has been brought up countless times or maybe not at all, however I was wondering if anyone knows or heard anything about Apple ever considering making color customizations for iMessage? I know Apple has kept iMessage in basic color format of blue,green, and grey. And as appealing as those are. Has anyone ever wanted to see Apple release a customization option? Maybe contact colors or just an option in general to choose what you want. Or a set of base options that someone can choose from? Such as Stock(blue,green,grey),2nd(Orange,Pink,White),3rd(Purple,Red,Grey/White)? Please comment back with your opinions. I want to know peoples opinions on this matter. Ive actually recommended this to Apple over the years multiple times. iPhone 4S,IPhone 5C,iPhone 7,IPhone X,iPhone 11 Pro Max. I know there are a million apps out there that claim to fix all the issues with ios software problems. I try to start it and it just goes to the black screen with a plug. is there a totally free open source program that I can use to repair it ? | Posted: 05 Nov 2020 02:02 PM PST My iPhone 7 is really hot all the time. I'm unsure whether it is because I downloaded a bunch of work apps for work that maybe are ...running in the background? (Although they shouldn't be on while I have the phone on.) Or, the alternative is that I've been using bluetooth headphones exclusively now with the phone. Could that be why it's running so hot? | Iphone not working after repair Posted: 05 Nov 2020 01:46 PM PST Hi guys I sent my iphone X into a repair shop to see why the face ID isn't working no more. He sourced the problem and said its the dot projector. And quoted £100 to fix. I didn't want to spend that much so i said no its ok. I got the phone back and restored it. But now the front camera won't work at all. The repair guy said it's because i reset it and the iphone detected a fault on the camera thats why its not working. Is this a real thing? Or is he just trying to pull the wool over my eyes? Id like to add that the face ID hasn't been working for a while. And i've reset it a few times (over the span of a year or so) before i sent it in and the camera has worked fine each time. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 05 Nov 2020 07:55 AM PST for some reason half of my phones icons are invisible for some reason but they're still there. the among us icon and its name is invisible but if i press where among us is suppose to be, it puts me into the game but when i exit out, among us is still invisible only appearing for a split second. for some reason when i go to reddit its like the wifi is dead and when i go to update my software to the latest version its says theres an error. help??? What I want is to have an iPhone message app to have that same behavior, show the preview image and the bit of text even before it is clicked. IS THIS POSSIBLE? Thanks lot. I'm supporting an older man (iPhone 7) and he misses out a lot. This would improve his understanding of the conversation flow. I'm an android user and the family tech person, so my sister has asked for my help with this issue. Her old phone, an iphone SE, is in restore mode and can't be updated. Only option is for a factory reset. Issue is sister doesn't know her apple ID information, and doesn't know the last time the photos on the device were backed up. She has some very important photos on the phone of family pets and her year old daughter that we'd prefer not to use. Is there a way to access the photos on the device outside of iTunes? I would like to create a completely new Apple ID on my iPhone. I do have some pictures and contacts I'd like to move over to my new account, I realize I'd probably have to do this manually. I have iPhone 11, just now I got a scam message on WhatsApp. I normally wouldn't have even opened it but i raised my phone and i guess i clicked the message on preview and then it face recognized and bam, I was on the message being told that I, a 24 year old woman could have a 35 year old Asian wife with kids. It contained a link. I didn't click. Can my phone still be infected by just opening it? The message has been deleted. Before anyone. There is a slight ripple effect on the bottom of the screen on my home screen. when I exit apps on my iPhone 11. Is this a hardware issue and does anyone else have it? Have any of you noticed this slight ripple effect when exiting apps? If not, try exiting an app and see if this happens for 1 second on the bottom of your screen. | Iphone X restarts by itself randomly after ios 14 update Posted: 05 Nov 2020 03:41 AM PST Hello, good day guys, I've been using my iphone x with ios 13 with with no issues after i upgraded to ios 14 a few weeks a go, my phone keeps restarting its self randomly and also returns with a battery percentage of 11%. Any time it does this i restart it again manually and it returns back to its original battery percentage. Solutions i tried: Waited for the battery to drain to zero and charged it up again ,Hard Reset and also factory reset which did not solve the issue. On eBay I found a used iPhone XS in good conditions and at a low price but the seller warned me that the baseband must be replaced to use the iPhone because ,after the reset, it can' t be activated (he send me a photo with only the sn missing the IMEI). So before buying anything...the apple warranty is still active but the seller told me that the front screen, back screen and the battery were replaced (I'm not sure if it was repaired buy an official repair service or not, I will ask him ,but I can't get the proof) so I don't know if the warranty is void. What do you think about? Anyway I'd like to know how much could cost repair it out of warranty (more or less) because I checked on apple and r-store but the service prices for an iPhone XS are around € 600 which makes the purchase of a second-hand iPhone pointless. I also checked if the activation could be skipped using some kind of jailbreak (I don't care about phone calls or messages , I 'm a developer and I just need a device for testing) but as far as I understood there is no way to do it on XS or later, right?
