Hey there, I'm the developer of Aspect Ratio X — a free, neat little rule of three calculator. It is one of my first SwiftUI-only projects. I would love to hear your feedback and appreciate if you would leave a rating on the App Store :)

[Promo Sunday] Hey r/apple, I recently released my music discovery app called SongFeed that shows you all the new songs added to the playlists you follow. Kinda like an RSS reader for music playlists. Works with Apple Music and Spotify.

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 05:11 AM PST

SongFeed is a music discovery app that lets you stay up to date with all the playlists you follow on Apple Music or Spotify. It shows all the new songs added to the playlists you follow in your feed. MacStories Weekly wrote: "Think of it as an RSS feed for new music."

It also has widgets, context menus and dark mode.

Plus, a cool side effect is that it shows all the older songs that used to be on a playlist but have been removed at some point. Such as the New Music or Friends Mix. (note: it works from the time of the app install)

Get it for free on the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/songfeed-for-playlists/id1501461720

Thanks for checking it out, let me know what you think!

How to Make iPad Your Only Blogging Device.

    Posted: 23 Nov 2020 12:05 AM PST

I made a music theory app which includes piano, guitar, ear training, MIDI, and much more (promo codes + TestFlight inside)

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 05:50 AM PST

Hello! I recently updated my app Tonality with tons of new features, including:

    • Full iPad, split screen, and drag and drop support (even between separate instances of the included AUv3 plugins)
    • Blazing fast guitar chart generation (find voicings that match criteria like number of fingers, fret range, etc)
    • Complete guitar integration with a floating palette for saving voicings and the ability to convert guitar to piano
    • MIDI record for identifying and exporting quantized chord progressions
    • MIDI footpedal support for triggering and automating chord progressions
    • Velocity sensitivity and XY mapping to send CC messages

Features from before this update include:

    • Keyboard for typing musical symbols inside other apps, with live previews for chords
    • Ear training (chords, scales, melodies, custom levels)
    • Chord pads for exploring chord progressions and MIDI control
    • Interactive circle of fifths
    • Musical terms dictionary
    • Chord/scale lookup
    • Real-time chord/scale identification

You can see a brief overview here: https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=g8g3ZFaV0e0

    Some screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/dE6Q5a2/

    The app itself: https://apps.apple.com/app/tonality-piano-guitar-chords/id1467552236

(It will show as containing in-app purchases, but these are only for tips. Tonality will always be a one-time purchase with free updates)

If you'd like to win a promo code, comment the feature(s) you're most interested in. I'll pick 10 winners at random!

If you're particularly interested, I also have spots in the beta. I ask that people who join have some degree of musical experience and are willing to provide constructive feedback. If so, you can send an email to tonality.app@gmail.com.

Feel free to reach out or comment any questions or suggestions!

Tick Tock, I created a metronome app how it should be

    Posted: 22 Nov 2020 06:11 AM PST

Most of the metronome apps I could find on the app store took a long time to load and I wasn't a fan their interfaces so I created Tick Tock. I think there's a lot to like about it but I probably like the way you select subdivisions the most. The only thing that's missing is a tuner but if the app gains some traction I would look into adding it. Feel free to check the app out.
