The amount of packaging required to get a replacement set of AirPods is rediculous Posted: 31 Oct 2020 06:01 AM PDT My AirPods recently stopped working and I had to get a new set sent to me along with prepaid return packaging. I got all of this sent to me: https://i.imgur.com/In7Jg93.jpg Each pod was sent in a separate white box inside a cardboard box. An empty AirPod charging case was sent separately inside a white box, inside a cardboard box, inside a much larger box with packing foam I think I could soundproof my room with. In addition there were small instruction sheets, packing tape and the return label. I cannot in my mind find an excuse for this level of waste. When Apple is making the argument that they are leaving out charging bricks to help the environment it seems to me like they have much more low hanging fruit to tackle. It's honestly just embarrassing. I should say that my return experience was great from a customer service perspective. The support person was helpful and the return products came within a couple days. [link] [comments]

Heat Dissipation in the iPhone 12 series Posted: 31 Oct 2020 12:04 PM PDT I just watched the JerryRigEverything durability test of the iPhone 12 Pro and Zack mentioned that the pixels on the screen weren't getting affected due to the fire because ceramic is a bad conductor of heat when compared to glass. But from what I've seen in some of his other videos, the screen usually acts as the primary dissipator of heat generated by the internals and if the surface of the display is a bad conductor then won't it resulting in heating up of the phone? The pro series might last longer because of the stainless steel but even then it should find it harder to dissipate the heat when compared to the 11 series, right? [link] [comments]

Any neat tips/tricks/shortcuts you recommend for iPhone? Posted: 30 Oct 2020 08:43 PM PDT I have had an iPhone since the 3GS days and currently have an 11 Pro Max. I feel like I'm under utilizing the phone since my previous phone was a 6s. I don't really have any fancy apps, know any shortcuts, or use widgets if that's a that on iPhones. I used to be pretty with it in terms of tech but it kinda fell to the wayside. I feel like I'm missing out on tons of cool features. If anyone has any cool tips they can throw my way it would be much appreciated! [link] [comments] |
